Also check if you have Realtek Audio Console installed, open it and go to the Power Management tab and turn off Power Management, this also causes clicks in the speakers. 1 Сlevo p870tm1-g 17.3 Fhd 300Hz i9-10980hk ES rtx3060. / Clevo x170smg 17.3 300Hz i9-10850k rtx2070super 32g ddr4 3200Mhz Gskill. / Clevo x170kmg 17.3 2k 165Hz i5-11600k rtx3080 32g ddr4 3200Mhz Hyper-X. Previously, I encountered a problem with some x170kmg owners associated with an unexpected shutdown under load, this led to a further inability to start the laptop from the power button, it helped to remove the battery and reinsert it, after which the laptop started normally from the power button, but only until the next unforeseen shutdown under load. And what is noteworthy, most often this problem manifested itself in the performance mode set in the Clevo Control Center, later, by experience, it was possible to find out the cause of these failures, there was a conflict in power management of the cooling fans, removing the Clevo Fan Control program from the Control Center solved this problem. Later, the corrected Control Center 3.75x appeared, which seems to have solved this problem. Perhaps you have something similar, but the opposite happens in low performance mode, somewhere the power management fails and the laptop turns off.Perhaps you have something similar, but the opposite happens in low performance mode, somewhere the power management fails and the laptop turns off. ViktorV
https://disk.yandex.ru/d/otRpfuGMtOe9Tw CCC 3.75X Fixed Clevo Control Center from Dream Machines. Try with this Control Center. First, remove the Control Center, then restart the PC, and delete the remnants from the x86 folder, only then install a new one. crossshot
@ViktorVThanks for your help. I think, its really a quiet mode issue. At the moment i use CCC 3.98 and power mode only in entertainment. Current uptime is ~100 hours. I use the quiet mode very often with Win11 because of high idle cpu usage and blowing fans. It explains the high number of crashs with Win11. At the moment i'm very happy. No crashs - also no more crashs in games. Very cool after a long horror story. 1 Clevo X170KM-G // BIOS Clevo 1.07.08 // EC 1.07.04 Intel Core i9-11900K with Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut Extreme 64GB (2x32GB) Patriot 3200Mhz DDR4 Nvidia RTX 3080 Laptop 16GB with Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut Extreme 17.3" UHD 4k 60Hz display (calibrated full AdobeRGB) System Win11: 2TB Samsung Pro 980 NVMe SSD System Win10: 2TB Kingston KC3000 NVMe SSD Data: 2TB Samsung Evo 970 NVMe SSD VMware: 1TB Samsung 980 NVMe SSD

Spektre
So, I need a new laptop to replace my aging P775, but the X170 is just too much for me to carry with its 2 power supplies. I am disabled and it will spend most of its time as my "desktop" in bed as I can't get up much anymore. My main problem with laptops is sound. They mostly sound like crap. I'm not interested in adding a Bluetooth speaker or some such as that makes it cumbersome to move again. Any suggestions for a good sounding Windows based 17" laptop? If you want good speakers that may be difficult. I am not aware of any particular windows laptops of the last generation that have good sound to be honest but I can tell you that the MSI GT77 is seriously lacking bass so I cannot recommend it for the sound (but many other things). As Viktor has pointed out there are interesting TongFang and Clevo models but not sure about their sound quality. As you seem to be looking for something in the longer run you may wait until next year - as you will be in bed with your laptop the upcoming 18" models may be nice because of the 15% bigger screen size and they will probably be weighing a bit less than the X170 and you will be able to combine them with a relatively lightweight power supply when on the go. As next generation CPUs will be a lot more efficient for both AMD and Intel you will probably be able to get the same performance as this year with significantly less fan noise. 3 hours ago, Spektre said: Top contender right now is the Asus Strix Scar 17. I am running an i7 11700k and although I do see 95c on autofan it's when I am fully loading the system.
