am not 100% sure but as we mode more to the equator the hotter it gets right.? more sirect sunlight.

the difference between where i live and california is that mexico has concrete walls wich traps more heat. its hot even during the night. as in california at night temps get lower.

the more up north the better.  i hate hot weather and also makes my anxiety worse.  i had toughts about what would be living in canada.

It's been really nice up here lately, mid to upper 70s, or about 25 Celsius for all of you metric folks.  Have hardly had the AC on at all this year.  For the most part it's possible to open down the windows at night if it warms up during the day, and that's not always necessary either.

an S/C its must on my place.  the hotter months are aabout to be here july and august.

Here's mine as of right now. Temps will increase at around 4pm, drop off around 6-7pm and then be cool in the evening...rinse and repeat for 2 more days. then we get some rain and then back to seasonal temps of 22-25. 

 

We have our AC on all winter in our bedroom, we like it cool and dry.  The ac goes on around mid may most years and don't get turned off until October. Maybe into November like last year. We have a 12k btu heat pump/ac in our bedroom and a 18k btu in our family room.  We are just finishing our renovation of our basement and we are installing a 24k btu unit down there. AC is not really needed down there, nice and cool. The heat pump will be for heat more than ac.  We will take advantage of the dehumidifier settings in it too.

We had a very cool May/June staying in the 60s and 70s which is very strange for this time of year. Our average temps are normally in the 80s and at times hitting 90s with high dew points. The good thing about it is that we're saving money on our electric bill because we're not using our AC, The bad: the lack of rain until recently and getting the smoke from the Canadian Wildfires

We have a new service provider in Canada too called Maple WIFI. 159.00 a month for unlimited 4g/LTE wireless internet. My wife and I are getting that for when we travel. Add in a booster in our jeep and we should get reliable internet for working remotely from almost anywhere we want to travel.  

 

What's the alititude of your place in France?  Also, are you close to the tour route?  We want to follow the race from start to finish and travel along with the entire thing. Best sporting event next to the stanley cup!

Funny you mention "Le Tour". The meteo above is for Castellane, some kms from my place. Am at around 900 m.
The tour seemingly often passes through towns a little further north, f.ex. Digne les Bains, Gap.

After watching many tours on tv, I decided to travel to France on motorcycle and ride many of the fantastic Alps & Pyrenees routes + it's environs, having all the 'cols' of the tours as my goal. During one of those trips I randomly drove by a small, inexpensive & nice spot for sale, that's it, 20 years ago, the tour is responsible :O)

Really nice day today, about 70ºF and hazy.  Got a nice walk in on my break.  Maybe the haze isn't the greatest, I think it's still from the Quebec wildfires?  But overall pretty pleasant, and June in general has been mild and wet.  After a dry May, that's just about perfect.

you have solar panels.? we have  1 ton mini splits each  bedroom so they are 2 and 2 ton mini split on living rom.  this year we turn it on on early jun.. only for 5 hours at night... sometimes 5 hours a day.. trying to save energy. the 2 ton on for like 3 hors.. have not received electric bill for this so need to see how much more we are going to pay...  our cilamte sucks you sweat by just beign on a chair.. makes you feel dirty.

No. Not on our house.  Our power bill in the summer is around 250 a month and goes to 500-700 in the winter with most of that going to heating our home. We have a total of 4500 sqft on 3 floors.  When we were using our 120,000 btu electric furnace to heat our home in the winter we saw 1200 dollar a month power bills in the winter 😂

 

I let my dog out this morning at 5:30 and it was 21 degrees then.

wow thats alot we try to save energy but only 3 people live here and i am the one that uses electricity more. we pay around 50 us dollarsevery 2 months

It's easier and cheaper to produce cool air than hot air. Heating my large house in -30 deg weather takes ALOT of energy. I could do with with wood and be more efficient but damn, it's alot of work.

...until they all start burning up, as well 😅crazy times we live in guys...scary af, especially with a lil kid under my wing now. really wonder what kinda world shell be living in when shes my current age....

very nice temps.. today we had 35c but felt like 45c.. and call me paranoid but i do still wear a mask.  as i got to go near the hospital and meet people coming from there. my mom work out there on the street in a tent she sells clothing. and i got to go and pick everything up. so hot i have to wear long sleeves.  actually what triggers my anxieety is hot weather. makes me feel uncomfortable and anxious. but seems that am doing better.. i remember 2 years ago i was wearing shorts and t shirt. drinking water with ice.

canada has fires right now i think not sure if it was canada..

i think about the same myself. what would happen how things will be by then. i also think what if we didnt have electricity and no water

I don't know.  36 deg c, feels like 42 deg c is a bit too much for here.  It's bonkers hot. I feel like I live in Australia right now.  We sat out and removed some consumables from the fridge and container in our garage (😉) and it was HOT then, and we were in the evening shade. The ole' heat pumps are working hard to keep us cool inside. 

 

Yes, Canada is on fire right now. ALOT of fires this year. Everything in the backcountry here is extremely dry and combustible.
