I just decided to try it out, it arrives Wednesday.

Please mention what laptop(s) you tested it with when you write a review. It seems that this cooler performs well with some laptops and poor with others.

Maybe you should wait @RyleyI impressions. @seanwee already warned about someone that got it and the performance was worse than without a cooling pad.

I've got a feeling that is already too late for this message 🤣

Just got the IETS 300. In a quick test with my Alienware M17R4 i7 1087, 32gb ram, 3070 gpu using Time Spy, GPU was 64deg, CPU 93deg, compared to the KLIM Wind, GPU 67deg, CPU 94deg. The IETS was set on 2 (Medium) The KLIM on max. What I don't like is the sound. While not real loud, it has a buzz/hum sound that I find annoying. The sound changes pitch and volume with the speed. I just changed out one of my cooling fans because it was sounding like this. The KLIM is much quieter with more of wind/air sound, much easier to ignore.

It definitely does what it says, with the sealed bottom, the air is forced through the vents. The laptop fans only run while gaming, and under high load.

Personally, I'm not sure I can ignore this sound, I don't even notice the KLIM.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

After an evening of gaming, the IETS works well. With its fan speed set on 2, (there are 4 speeds, 0, 1, 2, 3 and off) CPU temps were running 71 -78, GPU was 58 - 62. The KLIM was about 5 - 7 deg warmer, and laptop only fans were 10 - 20 deg warmer. I just used the MSI Afterburner overlay to see how things were going.

The good thing was that I didn't notice the fan noise while gaming, the audio drowned it out. So, I'll just turn it on while gaming, my temps are good without it for everything else.

***UPDATE*** After few days with the IETS 300, I'm very happy with it. No other cooler I've tried has come close. After a few hours of general use, internet surfing, and mostly Youtube, etc. According to HWiFNO64, with IETS300 fan setting on 1, average CPU temp is 40C and CPU is 35.5. Not using Youtube, averages drop to CPU 35c and GPU 32.8c.

10-20 degrees warmer without an IETS cooler? This is an impressive improvement if the results are accurate.

Yup, that's quite impressive, now let's hope that the build quality is good enough to last for years, I don't mean to be negative, but you know chinesium quality is well known.

Looks like anyone could make one with 6 fans and a power brick. I literally have everything I need laying around.

Precision M4800 - i7 4810MQ, 32GB RAM, Nvidia Quadro M2200

Thinkpad T430 - i7 3630QM, 16GB RAM, Intel HD 4000, 1080p display mod

Main PC - AMD Ryzen 9 5950X, 64GB RAM, RTX 2080 Ti

Would be nice to be able to get this as a kit as then it would be possible to get better fans without having to pay for the added fans which I expect to be less than great.

It would also enable us to use other fan arrays like for example 2 x 2 or 3 x 2 with 140mm fans or 2 x 1 with 200mm fans.

For on the go rear laptop elevation I keep a set of these in my bag:

I have been using a variation of these but found this one a bit better as it folds together which is very nice on the go, plus it has two different height options which is also nice:

I also use it on one laptop at home and it holds up to the MSI GT75 or Clevo P870 if needed. Guess they did not really think it would be used for that kind of laptop size but then I don't do slim and light 😄

In my opinion, a lot of the time they just help with some extra airflow under the laptop but a couple of post-it pads will do the same thing. Unless you remove the bottom panel of the laptop then you're never really going to get the full potential of a fan(s) blowing air up from underneath. If you're getting a 2-4 deg reduction then it is still better than nothing.

Most laptops also have their heatsink exhaust fans trying to push the hot air out the bottom of the chassis and most laptop coolers are trying to push air into these same vents. It seems counterproductive. Having the cooler set up as an exhaust almost seems like a better option.

Saying this, I still have my Coolermaster SF-19 V2 under my M18x as it was the only one big enough for the 18" laptop. The exhaust fans push the air out of grill at the rear of the chassis rather than down so that probably helps. I've never done any thermal testing in the 10 years of owning the laptop though. The laptop sits up on the rubber pieces so it gives a few extra mm of clearance for airflow.

Left: On/off button for the light, button for changing the lights' color, wheel for fan velocity.Right: 4 USB 3.0, laptop connection, power socketcsm_-Bearbeitet_01_a5519d1fb4.jpg

I can't think of one laptop that pushes exhaust air out the bottom.  probably couldn't sell it publicly if it did.  the bottom is usually the intake and the exhaust are sides or back.

I raise you your premade versus my 6 Noctua fan array.  Just kidding.  but I was thinking about buying this kit for a custom cooling setup but I don't need it yet.

Hi, ive sucsessfully modded my Notepal U3 , with 3 120mm fans, a power supply , a box for the couplings, and a switch on the box. So far, At idle the gpu is 32-33C, Cpu is around 45-50 C , the laptop fans are not spinning at all. At load ( tryed Heaven benchmark) Cpu goes up to 65C and gpu is around 50C , the gpu fans still not spinning cuz its not reaching 55C . At this point i didnt want to cut the frame of the cooler for better airflow , because its cooling enough the laptop. Tested with an Alienware 17, 4900mq and a p3200 mxm (80W) 1544 boost , its only perfCap on power limit.

For best performance and temperatures, both.

Liquid metal on cpu, high quality paste (TFX, SYY-157) or PTM7950 on gpu then either buy a IETS GT500 or make your own custom cooling pad.

If you're more budget constrained just get any 2x120mm/140mm cooling pad and take off the mesh.

If you don't mind taking off the bottom panel you can do that as well and just place it on top of the de-meshed cooling pad.

I've since made 2 other custom cooling pads since the last time I shared on this post.

This is what I'm currently using. Same Arctic P14x2 at 13.6v. Draws under 4w, no need to carry around an ac adapter to power it.

cool stuff.

I asked london drugs if they would paste my laptop, they will do phase change pads but not liquid metal. too bad. but doesn't the phase change pads perform better than liquid metal? and how much honeywell will I need to buy. Im going to buy the PC Pads on the 1st and get it done professionally as im terrible with this sort of thing. and will buy the gt500 thanks for your responses. I can't wait to see if I can break 13 000 in cinebench r23 (11800h)

No, LM is better but PTM7950 will still work. In my experience it performs like a well spread high quality paste.

They don't want to take the risk for a low paying job.

I would have to apply it myself. not hard I realize this. but I don't trust the process, seems like it would be easy to short circut the gpu or cpu. I'm not taking the risk, im either going with ICD or thermal grizzly non conductive paste.
