did you also overclocked RAM.?

for vbios you need programmer ch34a1 or how do you do that.?

system RAM? never had any luck with running anything other than 1600Mhz even with 1866 or 2133Mhz kits. DDR3 overclocking was fairly uncommon in laptops during this era.

The BIOS for the m4600/m6600 wasnt very good according to @valuxin when he was looking through years ago.

yes system ram.  dont knoe who it was on gpu update thread.

m4600 max is 1600mhz. but was wondering if timings could be modded. as my old 8GB 1333mhz was faster.

You would have to modify the spd of the ram itself for the system to read from, but I never attempted it myself.

should i disable this on BIOS.?

using windows 10 22H2.

Optimus leverages the Intel GPU when the NVIDIA GPU is not needed, to save you power.  If you don't care about battery life, you can disable it.

(Do not worry about the Windows 7 only text.  That's there because Windows 7 was the newest OS when this system launched, and Optimus doesn't work with Windows XP, which was also supported on this system.  It works with later OS's.)

Just bear in mind that Enduro, AMD's equivalent is not supported.

So if you end up going the M5100 route at some point, you will want to have that disabled as part of the installation process.

only difference is PC3 and 32GB is PC3L

@Reciever

like start up of laptop it didnt show loading circle dots. shut down also faster.

but with 32GB i find games run smoother.

do you think covering aperture of fan. this will this push more air put cooling it better .?

what is the purpose ot that aperture. suck cool air.? but i think it pushes hot air and then fan sucks same air in.?

The fans pull air from the bottom and push it out the back. You can improve it somewhat by enlarging the holes in the bottom vent.

this is exactly what i did. i only had a drill. was kind of heavy. it took hours. BUT

since it was heavy i end it up hitting the vent. final work.. not good it would not sit flat on a table so i just remove the grill amd did a square cut out.

the last pic on the fan.. the aperture that it has at the end of the fan casing.

i guess its to pull cool air. but seems like it pushes hot air. if i cover it. would more air go thru the heatsink fins.?

i find the old kingstone  4x2GB 1333mhzi faster at boot and shut down.

when cold boot showed windows logo for few seconds no loading circle. and at shut down took 3 seconds.

1600mhz 32gb. takes longer to boot shows loading circle at windows start up. shut down takes more time like 6 seconds.

but in games they run smooother.

only difference i see is pc3  1.5v old kingstone and 32GB is pc3L wich voltage is 1.35v

ihave 0 knowledge could be that the higher voltage makes it faster.

That was just the older standard, DDRL3 moved to 1.35v I believe with Haswell but prier generations were also compatible.

Could also try forcing no page file and see how your RAM behaves differently in Windows and gaming

The one modification that I wanted to try was removing 2x SODMM slots under the keyboard, this would permit for a MXM 3.0b card in a 15.6" frame.

At the time I simply ripped them out, traces and all which naturally didnt work. would've been better if I attempted to desolder, not sure what possessed me to go that route lol.
