on the plus side, the meh 9000 launch also pushed AMD to release X3D parts sooner than originally planned as it seems:

My take exactly. So far, Zen5 and Arrow Lake are looking like a mild upgrade on both parts at this point. I'm glad the lackluster launch of 9000 is speeding up the release of X3D.

I think there is a good possibility that both ccds of the 12 and 16 cores will have 3d vcache on them. That will be great if true.

if thats the case, lets hope they now include full OC capabilities and less temperature sensivity....then well have the best of all worlds 😄

If both have X3D, they will lock down the OC a bit because of temp sensitivity that's almost guaranteed but I'll take dual X3D CCDs over full OC'ing every day of the week.

agreed on this. although theres definitely gonna be at least some tuning capabilities, i doubt theyd go back on functionality vs. the 7000 X3D parts 🙂

For the Horizon Forbidden West portion, no idea why they tested there. The starting base in the DLC portion hits orders of magnitude harder on both CPU and GPU.

hmmm...wonder how stable that will be, seeing as HUB's testing saw the Hero cap out at 8300 with a 9950X. admittedly, Steve aint a memory OC expert and is just testing default profiles... nevertheless, still excited tho!
