GuitarG
Hi Clevo people ! I have acquired Clevo P751ZM recently (1 means EU version, 0 is for rest of world - minor difference in grill looks), repaired it and now it's rockin' nice Xeon CPU together with P5000 Quadro. I had found clevo repository with newest factory BIOS, but I'm looking for modded one. Can anybody help me with file ? 🙂 I think P770ZM is also compatible. And if someone would have keyboard for sale would be awesome, too! Thanks!
GuitarG
Okay, I made it myself anyway, (like classic says - "I will go hack my own BIOS with blackjack and hookers!") here is why I wanted: Boots, works. I can undervolt CPU from BIOS, set fan thermal behavior, overclock RAM (make it use XMP). Now I also need to clean up some options (not needed). Even made custom boot splash with my cat for fun. Time to buy Ampere RTX I guess ? Or maybe Intel dGPU ?
zex4
Hey very interesting project you doing but how the hell you installed xeno cpus?? GuitarG
Xeons work no problem at all, right now I'm using E3-1241 v3, I am waiting for xeon e3 1285l v4 with eDRAM. That is 5th gen Broadwell CPU. With unlocked BIOS I can check if that L4 cache works. Similar to xeon is i7 5775c (difference being unlocked multiplier). I am very curious how it will behave together with my Quadro RTX 5000 from HP, 2133mhz RAM and every "hack" available (like REBAR, above 4G decoding, undervolt, etc.). Most importanly, I would allow me to check if recent GPUs would work in dGPU only notebook. If not, then I would look for way to make it work 🙂
GuitarG
Xeon E3 1285L V4 (i7 5775C equivalent) working ! I tossed a coin and I'm ordering RTX 3080 GPU =] I will show pictures later and I will share unlocked BIOS file.
razor0601
I have also a P751zm. But shows black screen. Cpu and gpu are working. Do you know what’s the issue? razor0601
Yes, that’s the reason I sold the cpu and gpu. puh, long time ago I that I tested it. But I think there wasn’t the 100% fan issue. GuitarG
It could be very simple repair, like one damaged transistor, bios flash. Or more complicated stuff like damaged PCH or KBC. Only board level repair specialist can help, there is too much possibilites without having damaged board on table. Mine I bought very cheap, 30$ without PSU (I had one already), changed PCH myself (10$), one transistor (less than 1$) and it works. And I don't think PCH was damaged, but you can't be sure it's not damaged until you change it. Seller also took out his 4790K and 980M, sold those separately.
