I use PL1 100W and PL2 120 W -100mV 4,7 all core. There is just a bit improvement in games for a lot of more heat if I use more. 

Here are two example for unlimited power and 120W.

Here is a cinebench results with unlimited and 120 W score. As you can see in unlimited thermal throttling is almost always on. It is completly normal since in the beginning it draws almost 180W and then throttling down around 140W.

You can build your system for benchmark or you can build it for gaming. If you want better scores you need the heatpipe. If you want a cooler GPU then you do not need one. When both of your components starts working these benchmark results are not correct. CPU uses the GPU pipes and has more room to work. In gaming the CPU starts to heat the GPU sometimes resulting thermal throttling. I think a cooler GPU is better way to go. Of course this is only my opinion and it is based on my experience.

The heatpipe improved my TimeSpy score from 9.7/9.8k to 10.2/10.3k. so it does something. 4.9GHz all cores, -80mV

 

I ran Heaven benchmark, it uses both CPU and GPU at the same time. GPU max temp was 80C and 88C in the hot spot.

 

Got 390FPS in 1080p Ultra, no thermal throttle on the GPU.

 

 

So can I just:

 

use a 0.5mm thickness copper plate, glue it on the 3 CPU heatpipes and glue one straight heatpipe on top of the plate, all the way to the bottom GPU core side?

 

I can improve my clocks if I do this.

I do not think that it could go all core 4.9 since it would be about 220w+. If you run hwinfo64 you can monitor the mhz.

I am pretty sure all of the heavan benchmark for gpu test only. If you monitor during test is it also benching/using cpu?

Do not use copper plate, heat pipes are much more effective transfering heat.

Also glueing is not the best solution you should solder it.

Yes the CPU speed does give extra fps in heaven benchmark. Tested with multiple CPU configurations and overclocking helps a lot. I get max 160W on the CPU when I use ThrottleStop and TimeSpy bench

 

I used thermal glue 2w/mk, the best one that sticks very well. Some videos on YouTube, people used that thermal glue on the edges + used some thermal paste in the middle of the heatpipe and it was effective for them.

 

I wanted to use a copper plate to elevate the heatpipes since there are some tiny heatsinks on the right of the heatsink
