Okay, fair enough. I can not argue with that since I do not have any exp with 40th series. With 3080 it was a few percent.

Here is @Maro97 bench from an earlier post and he has P870. It is almost same CPU score what I got from X170K 11900k. Sorry I do not have test for my P870 is disassemblied right now. The 8 lane does not seem to a bottleneck and when I used it there was no problem at all. P775 also uses PCIe gen 3, only from 11th gen PCIe gen 4 is supported but it does not matter either just a few percents. Does not need a vapor for good cooling I have made one from the T-shape heat sink and it was excellent. Only thing why I had to switch to P775 that P870 has no option to make the BIOS mod to RTX and you have to INF mod it. Only with BIOS mod you can use secure boot.

Yes, it is a faster CPU in anyway. Yes, exactly! I think that is a good idea and looking forward the results if you share it. If you thinking replacing the P775, P870TM could be an option, it has I think the best CPU cooling solution, especially with the second fan mod. Also it is bigger and heavier, the last true DTR which was the best.

9900KS You can try I tried it out, I had an x170km with 11900k and rtx3080 for a few month. It is almost twice as loud, you had two carry two bricks with you and the improvement especially at 2k and higher the difference is not that much for the investment in my opinion. 11th gen was not best generation which intel developed 10900k was better in multi. 8c vs 10c I think P775TM is very good DTR but have to make some compromise with it.

Short answer is no. With the factory air cooling system you can not achive these numbers. Maybe someone can contradict me but I cannot imagine it could be done.

It should be the best,yes. However the factory datasheet says 127W TDP which means it can do the base freq which is 4.0 GHz. It is not likely it will do all core 5GHz on 140w, it do around 200w. It is still just a very good 9900k. UV depends on luck and bin. Around 100 is normal 130 is very good. Yes, I read it, it is was a very good research and work congrats!

I do not think that it could go all core 4.9 since it would be about 220w+. If you run hwinfo64 you can monitor the mhz. I am pretty sure all of the heavan benchmark for gpu test only. If you monitor during test is it also benching/using cpu? Do not use copper plate, heat pipes are much more effective transfering heat. Also glueing is not the best solution you should solder it.

I assume it is working but it has a dramaticly lowered performance since these bend on the pipe surface and the physics how the heat pipes work. I use PL1 100W and PL2 120 W -100mV 4,7 all core. There is just a bit improvement in games for a lot of more heat if I use more. Here are two example for unlimited power and 120W. Here are the two benchmarks one for unlimited and one for 120W. Ulimited. PL1 100W PL2 120W Here is a cinebench results with unlimited and 120 W score. As you can see in unlimited thermal throttling is almost always on. It is completly normal since in the beginning it draws almost 180W and then throttling down around 140W. You can build your system for benchmark or you can build it for gaming. If you want better scores you need the heatpipe. If you want a cooler GPU then you do not need one. When both of your components starts working these benchmark results are not correct. CPU uses the GPU pipes and has more room to work. In gaming the CPU starts to heat the GPU sometimes resulting thermal throttling. I think a cooler GPU is better way to go. Of course this is only my opinion and it is based on my experience.

Your heat pipe is damaged as I see on the picture I think you should replace it. It does not matter witch orientation you use but it should not be any bent on the heatpipe since it blocking the flow. I think using the gpu heatsink for cpu cooling is only work fine in benchmarks. When gaming or when both cpu ang gpu working they will heat each other.

Hi, What is your Pl1 and Pl2 level? With unlimited you should have around 11k.

Yes, I was talking about that case. It was a hint, unfortunately black screen and not posting could lead almost any hardware issue. Maybe it is time to start replacing components for testing.- 7 replies

I think you should try more just turning on the laptop. When RAM is replaced in p775 or p870 it takes a lots of reboot and turning on and off for me. (It takes so much time you start considering the status of the new components but after it starts. It looks the same like a new bios flash) FN+D is the default settings you can give it a try.- 7 replies

You can use copper IHS and then you do not need the direct die frame. The main reason for the DD frame that you can skip the IHS. I think its only worth it if you can skip the IHS layer from the cooling.
