How about biological computing? This could be truly terrifying
-
Sorry my friend it is a pure trust issue. I've been told and assured 100% in the past by "scientists" and "doctors" and researchers and government bodies that this is safe and that it bad and gmo is the way, these foods cause cancer and seed oil is great and all sorts of crap. When I was young I may have believed them....now I just use my own judgment. You can eat it if you want. But I'm not coming over for dinner.

PC hardware you should avoid. The do not buy list for computer parts.....
Eban replied to Papusan's topic in Desktop Hardware
Oh I concur, Silicon Power are not great with RMA or warranty promises. This happened last month. I bought a 1TB SSD in October 2024 for ¥7780 on Amazon.jp (about USD48.00 at current price exchange, would have been closer to 60 at the time). Early March this year I pulled that SSD from a panasonic toughbook to install into a PS4. Got half way though installing Playstation OS and it died. I couldn't see it in disk part (or even BIOS) and not with usb to sata cables. Just dead. So I messaged SP support and they asked for a clear photograph. I sent it. Then they told me that since the drive was manufactured in 2022 the 3 year warranty had expired. I objected and eventually had to get Amazon support to confirm that the warranty starts from my purchase date not the manufactures date. They then wanted to give me a full refund. Which I declined as the price hike made a replacement impossible to purchase. Anyway I sent it for RMA after a lot of complaining and they sent it back to me again, same argument, was made in 2022 so out of warranty. I complained more and then they said it was an internal miscommunication and to send it back to them AGAIN this time COD for RMA. I did and they finally sent a new 1TB SSD....current price is US$180.49 on Amazon So yeah if you need a warranty return with these guys be polite, but don't say "whatever" and just give up. Push them. -
I agree with you on the chatgpt thing. I wish youtube would clearly show when something was AI created but then no one would watch it....so yeah. The lab grown meat thing ...mmm... I'm from a generation that still doesn't trust microwave ovens. I would have to be VERY hungry to eat synthetic meat. Might as well tell me it's soylent green.....or MacDonalds

I first heard this song as a kid and LOVED the Bass. Later learnt it was a Rickenbacker Bass and I've always liked the sound. The movie was good also I think (it's been a long time since I saw it) - Reality Bites. The Knack - My Sharona

p751dm2 bringing a Clevo P751DM2 that doesn't boot back to life
Eban replied to dude-137's topic in Sager & Clevo
Well that is a lot.... Not sure on this pc but I can tell you delidding an IHS is not usually a problem. Unless the cpu die is injured or possibly traces on cpu. (I delid ps3 cell's and it can be a bit tricky. To glue the IHS back on use thermal gasket maker (as in for car engines)). I would check your cpu die. Clean all the thermal grease off and carefully look. Anything look odd? chips, strange discolouration?- 7 replies

late 2013 Alienware 17 r1 bios blind flash
Eban replied to hamhatch's topic in Alienware 17 and M17x
I could never get a blind bios flash to work on a Ranger @Maxware79 @Reciever ?? Resetting cmos is possible with memory insertion method, but as you have ascertained there are a LOT of screws to remove (to get all the dimm modules and cmos battery out)...stripped screws are just the cream on top.- 4 replies
