  1. WTF did I just watch?
  2. I bought a used Sony PS4 Pro CUH-7200B (apparently thats the last and best version number) for ¥16,850 (about $USD110 (That is a steal for this model in Japan)) Took me 3 months on Yahoo auction A new 1Tb ssd for it and a repast and thermal pads change. Its hard to play compared to mouse and keyboard (I was never a console player) It really is time to move away from windows and their BS
  3. Andy Williams - The Impossible Dream
  4. I feel your pain my friend. I've lost my Dad and Wife. I can't tell you the pain will ever be less, but it will not sting so intensely, as time passes. Just keep going. 1 day at a time.
  5. TLDR; Governments only need so many people to keep essentials working. Everyone else is a waste and only good for cannon fodder. Mmmmmm
  6. Thank you for the reply @saturnotaku I do agree with you whole heartedly re Nvidias treatment of its customers. I knew of the directx9-10 thing but thought (hoped) t was a software issue (as I read a few people had trouble getting drivers to install correctly) But anyway I think I will go for the ARC just to play some "newer" games and I still have my Legion to play older stuff if the arc looks too crappy. If this runs well when I build a system next year with new parts I might get another newer ARC.
  7. So....I must make confession here. I've been building a junk desktop. ie I haven't built a desktop in years so I played a game with myself have sourced the parts from Japans version of Feebay. Yahoo auction. I bought each component for under $100 I will make another desktop in a year or so and source new parts, this was really just for practice and giggles. So anyway I have an ASRock B660M mobo with Intel i3-12100F (I got these just on a timing and price criteria) Now I'm looking for a graphics card. I have these 2 options right now but from what I read The intel Arc isnt great for games (or wasnt, still true?) MSI GeForce RTX3050 overcolocked 6GB or IntelArc A580 8GB I'm more familiar with the greengoblin of course. They are very close to same price. Anyone has a current opinion of the Arc? Most of what I read is a little dated (as are both the cards). Thank you in advance!
  8. @6730b I'm glad to see in the picture you put the tyre you just removed under the frame as a backup to the jack. This is how I learnt to do it and it makes me cringe to see idiots put limbs or even heads under a vehicle without this. .....but then again. I'm not saying we should kill stupid people, but if we just remove every warning sign and let nature take its course I had an ignition coil in my car die on the way to work Friday morning. I diagnosed at lunch time with OBD2 dongle I keep in my glovebox and smartphone. I swapped the coil to another cylinder and the error followed it. Ordered a new set from Amazon and will install them tomorrow.
  9. I was joking..no actual movie. But Alien prometheus comes to mind

  18. No idea about their chair, but I like some of the computer cases by Fractal Design.
  19. Hey fellas, the gamer girl, I'm looking for advice on a linux home file server distro. I was reading about it a few months back and an idea got stuck in my head. Now of course I can't find the article I was reading. Anyway scenario is this. I have a bunch of small ssds, hdds and even a sshd, all different sizes (2tb, 1tb, 512, 265). I want them all in 1 file server that will connect to my tv via usb and treat all those small hdds as 1 big one. I have found some distros that will do this but with caveats eg 2tb hdd PLUS x2 1tb hdds. The distro I read about would take all shapes and sizes without the need for "balance". CasaOS maybe? Does anyone follow my badly phrased question? An idea of what I'm even looking for? Thanking you in advance Edit: Drivepool is the "keyword" I'm looking for.
  20. Been playing around with Batocera Linux Its basically an emulator distro for playing retro games. No real setup involved, just burn the image to a 1Tb SSD (I downloaded from Arcade Punks) Its a little buggy on my Alienware Ranger, froze up a couple of times and hard reboot required. Havent tested on my Legion.
  21. I havent been back to Skyrim in a while.......Mmmmm
  22. Silverchair - Israels Son Long live the Grunge!
  23. @6730b oh Thank you I will try to scramble my phone with this. I used ADB command line before to sideload Quest VR and install AICP onto my Xperia Z2 tabled (I still use the tablet on trips)
