Remembering the early days of ssd when everybody needed valium before powering up their machine ? The fear of 'using up' their 2500$ drive after 1\2 hour of writes :O) Amazing longevity for some components, my e7440's 15+ years old 256 msata (C:\ OS), 92% life left, 13700 power on's, and never a hickup.

Another heavy one with those beautiful vocals. Am still wondering where, why, how this 'singing' style was invented - But always enjoying listening to musicians\energy\compositions\songs\arrangements\sound. Some quite Immense work behind each track. Aephanemer - Le Cimetière Marin Bloodline

What phone are you daily driving currently?

About Samsung, among the myriad of apps\options\tweaks available (called bloat or choices, depending of one's standpoint), many am not using\disbaled\unistalled but a big fan of some of the most important ones. And always impressed by the manufacturing quality. Photo Gallery, Editor, Notes, Calendar, Messages, Phone app, Modes\Routines, Good Lock add-ons, Edge Panel and more, all nicely tweaked and refined over many years to provide 1st class services and interface (imo). The above weighs quite a lot so want to stay with Samsung, still using one as my main daily driver. If only the Sam's did manage someday to keep up with evolution > improve the photo results in it's S-line, would be a no-brainer here. That said, after the Pixel testing (satisfied with reliability and performance, great photos (not doing much videos, not gaming so soc speed\heat is fine, AI of less importance), am wanting to investigate Xiaomi (14\15 Ultra) and Honor (Magic 6\7 Pro), to get more insight into the 'philosophy' differences between brands. Will be looking for some great deal on black friday or other sale. Some very interesting China-only models out there, but not taking the risk with import (warranty, china-special OS etc) so sticking to brands that are sold locally in regions I dwell in. -

Happy with the p8pro, nothing broke in 9 months and good photo dept. Am liking 'minimalistic everything' when it comes to looks, still using this launcher, really light and good ! https://f-droid.org/packages/com.vincent_falzon.discreetlauncher/ And on all and every phone in my posession, Netguard to have full control of background net activity (see the lock key next to level bars). Bloat ? Pixel got a good dose as welll, my debloat list: reddit.com/r/GooglePixel/comments/1hno705/comment/m43rc3f/ -

Was browsing newspapers + streaming some music, the main use for this old laptop, then suddenly out of the blue, blue screen ! Never ever happened before, the Dell E7440 with it's original w8.1 install has been in daily use for only 10,5 years. Totally inacceptable to endure such a problem so soon after purchase and with such a modern OS! Initially looked like some windows corruption, it rebooted into some kind of recovery, and asked for the full bitlocker key (which I could dig up from somewhere from some backup) but I chose to power down and try a restart. Nothing, no display, no bios access, not even beeps or blinking lights. The end I believed, motherboard failure. Anyway, opened up just to have a last view of it's inside, save whatever component etc, then thought maybe do the very basic last chance thing: had a look for anything obvious, removed one memory board, removed \ reseated other memory and drives. Pushed the on button. Miracle occured 27.07.2025 at 02:14:29: out of coma like nothing ever happened. Corrupt ram ? Bad connection ram or drive ? Or can just as well be the sign of some lingering, future serious fault. Needless to say, external hd + macrium reflect immediately in action. Still not the end ! Hoping my trusted old w8.1 + 7440 friend will do service for a while longer.
