A brand new powerfull stone crusher ! Still cleaning up the river along my mountain property, after a major rainfall\storm years ago, amassed tons of big rocks that needs to go to avoid the river changing it's bed and turning towards the house. Nice little hobby :O) Great to have such force in one's hands. And the price! Only 140 usd for 18 kilos of superb, solid, powerful metal & machinery. Really the most satisfying price vs useability\quality\results of anything ever paid for. Also good for building some muscles :O)

Windhand - Eternal Return "Eternal Return is an infectious display of songcraft cloaked in alluring atmosphere, molten fuzz, eerie psychedelia and ethereal vocals. Equally informed by heavy, fuzzed-out psych along with the iconic grunge / alternative groups of the 90s, WINDHAND have crafted a record brilliant in scope, powerful in execution, and perfect for an era of increasingly blurry yet still heavy borders" ...is that all ? lol

A few months now with the Pixel P8P, it works fine (unexpectedly!), great display, excellent photo abilities from great macro to good zoom. Can live well with the 'slow' chip and relatively lack of batt time. But the Doodle OS, damn, desert island, coconuts only. Samsung oneui + addons is a 5 star mega-restaurant in comparision (with nothing to pay for the meals). So carrying 2 phones (no problem + using many sims): Pixel for it's great photos (+ hotspot use), Samsung for all the rest :O) -
Valkiria - blood on blood Continuing to check out 'melodic black' metal stuff, came across this, liking the 'atmospheric' sound.

Been very happy with the 5 Dell ever owned, 2 active. Always win clean install + then adding the absolute minimum of drivers, 'Dell original' (network, audio, display, touchpad etc). Zero of the myriad of Dell special-extra stuff, total available 81 (!!) drivers\apps for the Precision, am probably using 8 or so?. Maybe why there's no lags or strange hiccups here. Memory use after startup 2GB and everything peaceful. Never seen any Dell name appear in task manager.

Surface test shows the 7mm Seagate is ready for replacement. Gave good and long service. CrystalDiskInfo correctly warned about drive degradation.

Ref https://notebooktalk.net/topic/1036-the-end-of-windows-81/?do=findComment&comment=55211 Seagate 2TB, 'Caution' in CrystalDisk, after approx 7 years of loyal (ab)use in the E7440. No symptoms so far, wondering if the marked 'Sector count' means imminent carnage or continue use (for a while). Got backups & will run surface tests. Any recommendations (continue use ...or scrap asap) ? Thanks

Quite amazing, 10 years heavy use with the Dell E7440 wo any problems. Even the battery is still useable. Even better, still got the original 8.1 install from 2015. Never ever any bluescreen or OS related problem. And the old msata 256gb is doing well, should last until approx 2125 :O)

Tested pixel 8 pro zoom. The full zoom does not survive any scrutiny on pixel level, but quite impressive that such results are even possible ! link to reddit post showing 1x & 30x quick shots from within car. -

3 months with Pixel 8 Pro, still works ! :O) Behaved much better than anticipated. Very+ satisfied with camera results \ editing \ options (both before and after taking pics), Display, battery, network etc all fine (for my use). Of course, vs Samsung, am missing many of oneui's nice and very useful options and tweaks, but knew in advance it was a move to the "Desert Island OS", the Pixel was acquired for it's photo cabilities, in which dept. it does deliver. One major irritation was that (ugly and unused) Google search bar, no removal possibility, so started looking for an alternative laucher. ftm using 'Discreet Launcher', open source from f-droid. Sooooo happy+ to get rid of that google search monstrosity, also freed up the locked (for widget \ date use) home screen top area. Light launcher with no over-the-top possibilities, liking it's philosophy of going after a basic, clean interface. Still quite some settings to play with, am enjoying the current setup. Pic 1: home. Pic 2: home apps (swipe up on screen, alt. always on). Pic 3: app drawer (swipe down on screen, alt. folders).
