Your post made me go ahaead to test a 97 Wh China battery off Amazon, more out of curiosity how it'll behave than out of any real savings concerns. Got good reviews, hopefully true, time will tell. Btw not impressed by the original Dell 56 Wh, towards 45% wear without that many cycles, also a reason for trying another brand.

Thanks for showing those great numbers ! Even the 'antique' msata good as new after 60+TB. Remembering the early days, people panicking that ssd's lifespan would evaporate in a few days or so if put to any kind of normal use :O) About the (surely unusual) large startup counts on the e7440, it's type of use implies lots of sleep\hibernate every day, year after year.

My trusted old Dell E7440, 7+ years with the samsung 256 GB msata, 5 years with the Seagate 2 TB. Am always amazed by the longevity of most electronics. & still on the original win 8.1 install (open shell + a few tweaks). 7+ great years, superstable OS . Will miss it when execution date of OS arrives... If the 7440 is still in use, it'll get 10 ltsc.

Looking up google. seems there are\has been tons of similar problems, so laying down the sword ftm. Hello, anyone used any of the cheap china batteries? They abound on Amazon. I'd believe they could be ok, with decent cells, but is the potential gamble worth the savings.

Tried getting Dell Power Manager onto the Dell prec 5540, goes to the finish line then stops \ uninstalls. Logs says something about incompatible OS. Anything else I've thrown at LTSC has worked 100%. Not a crucial software to have, but wondering if it's really incompatible with LTSC ...or is it only here \ my tweaks. So just curious, any Dell owner got Power Manager running on LTSC ? Or have experienced any other incompatible app situation ?
