Was donated an older i5 HP desktop. Was to be scrapped. Failed HD replaced with a cheap ssd, and all well. The whole machine fast as hell actually. Now, after the usual late night experiments, wanted to go back to yesterday's Reflect image, in goes my faithful USB Reflect boot stick (which always worked perfect on every thinkable pc\laptop). Nothing, not even the led light on the stick and not showing up in the boot device list. Soooo? simply go to bios, set up legacy etc. Still nothing, ok, did not set bios correctly. Tried again, nothing. Reset bios to factory, tried again. Nothing. Hunted around bios for something or a clue. All USB ports ok, maybe some special jumpers on the motherboard to disallow USB boot?? Total confusion. Then after some hours of headscratching... the USB stick itself ?? Tested by booting my 2 Dell laptops, zero problems. So it must be the HP pc!. Back to bios settings. Still no boot. Last resort ... another USB stick? Actually copied the Reflect boot files from the 1st stick to another stick ...and the HP booted immediately from it. Should have taken the clue earlier > the missing led light on the 1st stick, and immediately used another stick. Moral of the story, USB sticks are not made equal. Behaving perfectly normal for standard file operations and everything else on some machines does not guarantee success in all cases.

Some months now using a 'real' Dell 56wh > zero problems, behaved perfect from day 1. Paid for something that was actually worth the money, ref. the ridiculous trouble with the cheaper clones (see posts above). +++ to Amazon, no problems returning \ getting fast refunds for the misbehaving clones.

Applied this month's updates, 10 ltsc & 8.1, went smoothly & everything still works :O)

Also, O&O shutup. Tested and working.

Update Day ! Did my 10 ltsc (& the trusted old 8.1). Initially all looks good (but as always, Reflect image 1st). This time allowed drivers updates etc, to investigate what WU would imagine what was intelligent to do... & of course, example, proposed and installed some older intel graphics than what was already there. Useless idiots. The list of stuff to be updated (or surely downdated), how immensely informative to see 'software component', 'system', 'extension'. Useless idiots 2. Thinking about how vastly superior the update setup was before 10\11.

So starting with this: MIT researchers have developed a portable desalination unit, weighing less than 10 kilograms, that can remove particles and salts to generate drinking water. The suitcase-sized device, which requires less power to operate than a cell phone charger, can also be driven by a small, portable solar panel. Their pre-release campaign & design leaks worked very well, created lots of buzz on all social nets and tech sites, the name suddenly popped up 'everywhere'. Then when it arrived looks like it's not deemed just an interesting gadget, the reviews are seemingly all positive, holding it's ground vs many of the best of the midrange class.
