You can't do that on Alienware M18X R2, every output is done thru Intel HD. Meanwhile the Dell Precision M6700 uses the discrete GPU for HDMI out.

Hello I'm selling: Available: RTX 4080 150W 12GB GDDR6 MXM (MXM type B, centered offset) for 650€ UNAVAILABLE --RTX 4070 115W 8GB GDDR6 MXM (MXM type A) for 495€-- Both compatible with laptops using Intel Optimus, switchable graphics or Nvidia Multi-GPU setup with 2 MXM slots. Tested both of them on Alienware M18X R2 and Clevo P570WM. Tested the RTX 4070 alone on Dell Precision M6700 with Intel Optimus. It's a hot card too. Cards don't have LVDS and no eDP. Only DP and HDMI out are available. For the 4080 I recommend you having a good heatsink to cool the 150W from it. Payment method: PAYPAL Shipping to Europe Reason of selling: I need to buy the RTX 4060 MXM from ZRT to test some displays.
-
All will work on Switchable graphics but not in eDP. X-vsion 4090 is like 150W And ZRT one is 135W You need a better heatsink.
-
So it worked? Did someone try like a Quadro card on them?
-
Yes you have the right pins for DP_D. Does your laptop use the standard MXM format? Or does it use external power? Did you try using a standard MXM card like a GTX 1070 to see if it works on eDP? Although our MXM connectors aren't the same because I don't even have the mention of MUX for DP_B and DP_A. But they seem to be on the same lanes. And although, my Quadro RTX 3000 works on eDP and also displays thru DP, HDMI easily.
-
I saw the schematic of the MXM connector and it's different than mine. Wonder why most Pascal cards aren't working. But what does the MUX have? There's no intel HD Graphics for the eDP connector... My laptop allows me to use a Turing HP Quadro RTX 3000, like it really allows me too. I'm sure RTX 5000 will work fine.
-
The ZBOOK G5/G6 potentially has the same MXM connector as the Clevo P570WM. Because all of the Quadro P and RTX from G5/G6 are working with the eDP on my computer. The ZRT Tech said my computer is compatible for their RTX 4050/4060 MXM because they compared their pins/signals with my MXM CONNECTOR. Now I need to order one and I'll see. However Alienware M17X R4 eDP version won't work because the MXM connectors take different signals.

Show your mxm connector schematics
-
Hello. It (4050,4060,4070) has the same pins/signals for eDP as the clevo p570wm MXM connector. ZRT told me it's compatible.
-
ZRT confirmed with me that their MXM RTX 4050M and 4060M have the same signals/pins as my laptop's MXM master connector. I compared too and that's also what I see. So you're saying, it'll work with my eDP screen on DP_D?
-
However, I found the MXM connector. eDP is DP_D for my laptop. Yes this is the second part of the connector. The first part I didn't screenshot. It has OEM at pin 41
-
You can find the full datasheet online. It's for Clevo P270WM, P570WM3, it's like a 8MB pdf file. This is only the LCD eDP connector. There's no mention of MUX switch on the pdf.

I found a ZRT, RTX 4060 MXM datasheet and there's also OEM pins. OEM0 TO OEM7 It also has some DP_D signals for eDP: DP_D L0 DP_D L0# DP_D L1 DP_D L1# DP_D L2 DP_D L2# DP_D L3 DP_D L3# DP_D AUX DP_D AUX# DP_D HPD I can't post any pictures because I am limited with the size of the files.
-
Hello again. After comparing both 4060 from X-Vsion and ZRT, I see the PCB and components are different. I looked at the datasheet of the ZRT 4050 (the nearest I could find that's similar to the 4060). It mentions eDP AUX, #AUX and HPD lanes on DP port D. So are the 4050/4060 fully eDP compatible unlike X-VSION?
-
Hello. The MXM cards can work on mini-pc that uses DP, HDMI out for external outputs. But for eDP internal displays, they won't work 😕 Also do you have a download link for your A14 BIOS for the M18X R2? Does it have a good GPU temp table?

Even normal paste would be enough because of the new heatsink I designed

Hello. It's been a while. I'm designing a new heatsink. This one should provide 150W easily. Here's the picture, I'll add one extra pipe so it can do 175W. Only for the new MXM offset GPUs

Isn't the AW17 R1 problematic like the AW18 R1? Because you are stuck with 100W max and sometimes the graphics card throttles to 55W. I know that because I used a 3080 115W in the AW18.. If you want a strong heatsink, you have to create a sketch or a 3D model in CAD, that's what I did then find a manufacturer in Alibaba. But putting RTX cards on these Alienware aren't worth it. Try use an Alienware M18X R2, no TDP problems.
-
No they don't. If we remove intel HD, it won't even display on the LVDS screen. Will only display externally. Even the 3060 doesn't have an eDP port to begin with.
-
Maybe because the card doesn't have eDP lines. I tried every vbios. I have the schematics of my laptop, it's DP_D. Same goes for @ichime, this person has a ZBOOK G6 with eDP on port D and his 4090 doesn't work. Display only works on SG mode with Intel HD or without SG, it works with a compatible GPU in slot 1 for display.
-
Hello. I tested an eDP DP_D card on M17X R4 it didn't work but works on my other laptop. Did any of you found an Ada MXM card that can do some proper display or not?

Quadro P5200 having low wattage on Clevo X7200
SuperMG replied to SuperMG's topic in Components & Upgrades
Did you take the original VBIOS and only edit the max TDP target thru the Pascal tdp editor software? Did the software generate a correct md5 hash after saving the rom? There's a 160W vbios file on techpowerup for my P5200 but I'm scared to break the solder of the vbios chip. -

Did you ever try? Using CH341A? And have a 150W VBIOS running? @ssj92 -
Quadro P5200 having low wattage on Clevo X7200
SuperMG replied to SuperMG's topic in Components & Upgrades
@ssj92Hello. Only maxwell cards are running at full speed on the second slot but not Pascal. My 970M ran at 85W max. P5200 ran at 77W max by using the same drivers
