  4. sounds like the same prob i had with my m6800 n GTX 880M n P5200 both not shown in win even bios, both r DELL ones n working fine in my 7720, but ordered a new mainboard n we will see it will solve the prob or not

  6. sorry for the late response... yeah took a pic while was on it... n u really able to feel the difference when u blow on the original holes, u nearly not feel anythin on the other side with ur hand, with the 1.2mm holes u really feel it, but no wonder 1.2mm holes have a 125% bigger air passage then 0.8mm: and is a f*cking boring work, doin over 1000 times the same shit 😄
  7. i think isnt a prob with the CPU bcs of the BCLK... mostly its the SSD which dont like higher clocks(PCIe runs with the same speed at the BCLK, only on some Z boards = desktop u can sperate PCIe clock from the BCLK). on my desktop system(ryzen = PCIe fixed to BCLK) my old samsung PM951 was able to run with 106MHz while my new 990 pro stops working at 102.8MHz 😞 n will try those stuff, hope the "new" mainboard with the xeon e3-1575m v5 has a old bios on it so no bios backflash mod needed 😄 that 2933MHz mem runs is fab, already looking for a 2x16GB hyperX kit, but hard to find, n those 3200 wont boot 😞
  8. u checked hotspot temps? when just one part is in the red area, will throttle... even when average GPU temp still is fine, same for VRMs, when they getting to hot, they cap the powerlimit
  9. do u checked with rivatuner the utilization of CPU n GPU during a run?
  10. at same clock n memory speed ivy is 3-9% slower then haswell in games(mostly bcs of reduced cache latency)... n u checked the PCIe speed goin up when starting 3D stuff? had it on desktop once with my old 3060, driver bug n speed was even in 3D at 16x1.0 n not 16x4.0 n was a massive frame drop.
  11. ok, got a 1.2mm drill n did it, temps goin down noticable, was running furmark + cpu-z stress test to generate maximum heat, left bottom cover with original sized holes(0.8mm), right with 1.2mm holes: GPU temp is down 4°c. n CPU 5°c. ambient was on both tests at 26°c.

  14. some benches: original Toshiba XG3 512GB(really poor performance, even for a main/OS drive): new Samsung 960 Pro 512GB: and my game drive a WD SN730 1TB: original 2x8GB SK Hynix 2400 CL17: and new 2x 16GB Kingston HyperX 2666 C15: so the new mem has(rounded) +10% higher read, +17% write and +21% copy bandwith and 3% less latency. Timespy CPU score is +6.3%, firestrike +8.2%... im really excited for the new mainboard with the E3-1575M V5, should be give another blast in gaming stuff.... ordered already the custom heatsink for RTX cards from cicichen, he said need around a week to make + shipping, x-vsion wrote me back, they have a RTX A3000 12GB with 140W TDP in stock, think will go for it n stay -atm- at the 1080p screen then. and another thing i noticed n easy to optimize is the airflow, when counted right there r 1073 holes for air intake to the fans each has a diameter of 0.8mm, that means each hole has 0.503qmm = a total of 539.7qmm, will drill the holes out to 1mm each, that will increase the intake opening to 842.3qmm = +56% higher air intake and the noise should be down too bcs of less turbulences.
  15. think the m4700 has fallback mode like m4800 has, when dedicated graphics dont work, igpu will set automatically to primary.
  16. just know from desktop, when u hit the power button, the whole system has a peak before bios is loaded... think same for laptop? may try with only 1 mem module n disconnect all drives to save some power to test.
  17. trying a bios on the 4080 with less PL maybe? possible the m4700 cant deliver enough power for the whole system?
  18. MXM Type Series - X-VSION GRAPHICS CARD n im not sure the output can deliver more then 120Hz at 1080p.

  20. yeah i noticed that, would be interesting the VRM controller can handle 6 phases or they "only" get doubled then, even doubled is ok, bcs less thermical stress and sadly the 3770 wont work in the imac, its a shame from apple they not did not upgraded the EFI to support 3rd gen CPUs... n the 880M even wont work, so all back to normal(2600 + the old AMD card).
  21. bcs im waiting for my replacement mainboard for the M6800 i started to shop some stuff for the 7720 to make it comparable to actual notebooks(except the number of threads the CPU can work with 😄) Service Tag: C9GP6H2 so u can see original configuration.   22. im happy when he only put a RTX heatsink on the original heatpipes from the 7720, 120W n still far away(always below 60°c.) from throttling, but the CPU part isnt the best, but its ok bcs still below 80°c. at full load
  23. ok, just noticed even USB ports doesnt work anymore, so think board is broken, just ordered new one... this means a bit of time for the 7720 and my old imac 12.2(27" mid 2011) want try a 3770 will work in it n putting the GTX 880M in it(3 heatpipe heatsink i have here since yrs)😇
