geforce now has had several updates now since I last posted, the max bit rate is still only 75mbs but there is a hack to bump that up to whatever value you want but in the end its still limited to a max of 70-80 mbs. it has 2 or so less ms of lag so its snappier and the artifacts are not as pronounced but hey I guess your still just playing a game movie. as for overall before id give it a solid 7/10 now because of the latency improvements and image quality adjustments with AI and such yeah its a solid 9/10 for me, they just need to focus on 120/4k now and find a solution to the modern tech limitations.

so i decided to take a trip down memory lane and booted up half life 2, man the game grabbed me fast and just jumped my bones, felt good playing with something older. hands were soaked, sweating like mad as the intensity of the game just sucked me in. great game really hope i get to see what the new installment will be like(alyx I guess)

@saturnotaku if you typically have great internet geforce now ultimate is worth a look. It's only viable iq wise for 1600p_1080p

is this native or geforce now? I found a tweak online about changing the bit rate the above photo was with a bit rate of 375. now we are talking, I guess streaming is here and here to stay, its completely playable and looks like native 4k still and while moving, sorry for being so off topic but its just that good!! and now I don't have to save up for a 4090 desktop rig. no point I will point out it looked pretty bad in motion close up with the default 75mbs heres my internet stats to give you an idea you basically need ping under 40ms and download latency around 40ms but if you dont have great bandwidth its not the reason it looks bad having any packet loss results in blotches with distant image. -
@Etern4lI got AI to write a poem that causes the person reading it to go into deep hypnotic trance. it worked on me and would work on my others, this is why im scared of AI! the potential for manipulation. its scary the world has psychopaths and sociopaths and if AI is looking out for the greater good of humanity that might mean.....

it really is better than you guys think. Im using it on my 1080p laptop now and a game I cant max and run even at 1080p can now run with image set to 1440p on the 1080p display to give it a native sharpness and clairity of 1080p on the original hardware. its a simple work around for the slight degradation in image quality. the image looks like 90 percent of given resolution maybe 95 percent hard to put a number on it but its incredibly sharp for a video. if you bump up the quality in the geforce now setting its an effective work around and after running one then the other I can confirm the 1440p image of geforce now on my 1080p display looks better than native 1080p not sure how but it does its a noticeable difference. as for 4k. desktop 4090 is still the way to go for 4k, but I heard geforce now will soon support 8k -
im using the iets gt500. we should compare homemade to this cooler as its the only reasonable options. im getting like 73c overclocked cpu gpu after 8 hours of gaming. and with undervolting and vsync which makes more sense im getting 45c on gpu and 50c on cpu after 4 hours. and this is on a .9in thinish laptop that is known to throttle down to 3.5ghz on cpu and throttle gpu at 75c

I think 0 of you will switch to geforce now regardless of what internet connection you have. or how good/bad it looks(subjective) but Im using a google tv and a wireless xbox one controller and now that my interent was bumped to 300mps i was able to re run it and winded up playing the new crew motor fest for 4 hours. It had the normal hiccups in frmaerates once every 20 min or so and image quality unfortunetly is only 1080p with google tvs but it looks good at 10 feet away dare I say crisp, it only struggles with one thing and thats smoke it looks blotchy when it comes to smoke, everything else looks better than native with its ai upscaling. only slightly better, ironically 4k doesn't look 4k it looks like 3000x2000 not quite 4k but not bad by anymeans, the fix for this is maxing the throughput to 75mbps and lowering it to 4k/60 and turning on ai to the max. then it looks strikingly good considering its technically just a video. long story short if your planning on playing games up close to a 55in tv its not worth it but if your using a 27in 4k monitor or a 15in 1440p laptop display then its a killer deal, also if you plan on gaming from a couch then all you need is the subscription and a xbox series x controller and you will have an excellent experience. its not the same as other streaming services its in a league of its own and if you checked it out 2-3 years ago for the beta it is so much better its not even funny, one thing I noticed was image quality at 300mbps was quite a bit nicer than at maxed 75mbps on a 100mbps line. having fast internet is the limiting factor, if you have fast internet then there is little to no reason not to check it out. -

we the consumer are being forced to own nothing. linux is all that will be left and I guess thats not a bad thing as for the image quality, right out of the box it looks awful. tweaking it a bit and sitting 10 feet away with the ai upscaling it can look strikingly good. I don't know I posted pics of 4k geforce now ultimate. Im probably not going to buy a desktop once I get my internet 1gbps. It will probably look native with the 1 gig internet, but if you want to play CS 2 or seige ect good luck as lag is present. its perfect for a handful of titles such as third person adventure games like starfield and racing games like motorfest. but for games like cod its just not there yet. I also see geforce now as a method for big uncle sam to create a algorithm to know your every move in life by collecting all the data and input you do with games. theres always a bigger picture and clandestine motives with big companies. thats shot with crysis remastered, its the only game that doesn't look native it has compression artifacts with my 100mbps internet im sure once i get the boost in a few days it will improve but by how much is yet to be seen, its definitely a 4080 and its not castrated. but yea 4k/60 for video using geforce now is going to need a zippy internet connection. I think 250mbs and up is needed even though they of course say 75mps is fine. but what you get looks awful sometimes with the compression artifacts, it looks clunky. but yeah from 10 feet back and on motorfest it was crystal sharp. -

geforce now is the future. -
its good like a 8/10 but its not groundbreaking but then again what do you expect. not every single starwars episode is going to be groundbreaking. Im watching another episode today and will enjoy it

I long forgot about egpus because in the past they just have not been worth it unless you have a good sized disposable income. I personally now would like to see benchmarks, maybe when it comes out someone can post egpu results, any speculations?

the handling is on the finicky side, I like how it looks and sounds but not a fan of the aggressive steering profiles. if anyone plans on using keyboard to play it fair warning it will be difficult!

a gen 6 X1 carbon for 283cad, its a really good deal and has a mx150 which is close enough to a intel xe igpu. I will mainly use it for geforce now if I pull the trigger but likely wont because I have 4 laptops.

Finally got around to ahsoka starwars saga. It was ok I don't think having a renegade in every new series is a good/creative thing they are all starting to feel stale. I will likely watch all 8 episodes but this I repeat is not the mandalorian.
