  1. The newest(better) drivers for nvidia was just released...testing starfield right now Now hold your breath..release. They did nothing for me. Aside from a slight unnoticeable bump. Maybe just maybe 2fps more. I was getting 30fps at ultra 4k..now I'm getting 30-32fps Actually a little update the settings were different..now on native ultra I get 29fps native as in unaltered changes to the settings and just using ultra preset..not bad I'm pretty sure it was the same before not sure..if someone else can test..gravy
  2. wow now this crept up on me, I was not waiting for nor did I know about its release. After reading a comment on starfield I checked out a review and other comments then looked it up on steam. well it is looking like the clear choice for game of the year and i'll be purchasing it soon/ here is the review
  3. 10 hours logged...no i meant start where i stopped in sf and start rdr2
  4. I did a test. 1080p lowest settings and 50percent resolution scale dlss mod all low and off I was getting 42fps average 4k-highest settings all maxed 67percent resolution scale(dlss quality defualt) I am getting a solid average of 29fps how is this even possible, I honestly think they went out of their way to accomplish this feat, this is not mere coincidence. No other game this side of minesweeper does this or has the same results, usually even with poorly optimised games resolution plays a big factor.
  5. still driving my van till it dies. its either this: or the van, seemingly obvious choice and dont ask why the scooter is an option it really isn't. It's just a peck at what im seeing in society, people seem to be going the electric scooter route and although slower than a vehicle they are better for the enviroment but i cant help but chuickle when I see a grown man on something designed and invented for children
  6. I have yet to test my laptop display however I expect similar results around 7ms. I think knowing with a quick check your refresh rate and response time is helpful if it feels off and you are unsure.
  7. I downloaded it but havent been able to push myself to play it or SF yet, been 3 days. I think ill wrap SF eventually then tackle rdr2, simply put too many people are recommending RDR2
  8. very true, I think its a great game but the performance for how it looks it a utter joke and its a complete failure on that front. I can max cyberpunk without path tracing and get higher framerates at 1080p but idk its all just ports. I hate to say it but if your a gamer consoles might be the way to go unless you like fiddling with mods and IQ. I personally will be with pcs until the ship sinks much like a captain from the past, I enjoy mods and enjoy KB/M gaming im a dying breed. As for getting 30fps its a stellar cinematic experience lol, I manage to get 30 at 4k the same as 1080p, resolution doesn't seem to have a super big impact on performance and neither do the settings. I get 31fps on all low 90percent scaling and 28fps on all high/ultra shadows low. I can play the game at 30fps and suprisingly the games performance doesn't fluctuate very much so at the end of the day for starfield your either going to want to hurt yourself and hate it or your going to want to go to church to praise it. it really is one of the most polarising games in the history of video games. I enjoy it and have logged in 10 hours, im taking a break(3days) from it but I can't help but wonder about the future of PC gaming. sigh
  9. little update ue 5.3 is out now. I'm thinking by the time they use Unreal engine 5 it will be completely photo realistic, and fluid as water. finally only took 30 years
  10. ?it's similar to almost every single game that does space dogfights? I don't understand if you play on a chess board thats red and white and love the game of chess, when the board is black and white you hate the game? just using simple logic but yeah it's funny how unlikely all this is but yes agreed the space bits are not the greatest feels like your on a water swivel. not particularly thrilling, one other downside is why do they make 1 out of 10 bullets a hit in rpgs? like why change the FPS formula..maybe im missing something.
  11. don't play it bro/ i dont like onions but you dont hear me ranting in off topic about how bad onions are. i just dont touch them lol..yeesh
  12. @hfmit just gets better and better the more you play. its an illusion that people dont like it and the nbt wacky dozen lol
  13. this. I get 30fps because I chose to get a 3060 midrange laptop, I knew what I was getting into before I bought it. Im not going to buy an electric vehicle then compain I dont have a 1000km range whilst driving from vancouver to toronto. like I think if your going to talk about something you should not do like the old saying judging a book by its cover. Its a good game, is it game of the year? heck no. but that is true of all games except for the game of the year game. Gets old when certain members just chime in to argue using their opinion as a fact, and the logic of, I thought of this therefore it must be fact. Not everyone will like this game, and it's a miracle I like it, as I don't play rpgs. more into crysis esque games. but im not going to comment on a game I haven't given any time to. I see this time and time again, user posts an opinion and someone else has a contrary opinion its like they treated it as an attack on their character, and respond by personal insults the same way a 5 year old child would.
  14. people that have not played it for a hour or two hate it. people that have given it a chance and played it love it. I don't know I think people just like to complain and give their 2 cents when it's not backed. I hate this I hate that yet have not checked it out makes sense. I have never had caviar and I already hate it, see how dumb it sounds. check out the game and form your own conclusions.
  15. As you all know, AI is being censored yet suprisingly with the government moderation people have found work arounds, if your curious too try uncensored AI and ask the questions you typically would not get a response for check out this: H2O.ai | The fastest, most accurate AI Cloud Platform
  16. UFO Test: Moving Picture Response Time (MPRT) (testufo.com) interesting test I found to test hz rate and rsp time. good if you are unsure of what HZ your running at or want to know your particular displays response time heres mine; I am getting 120fps at 7.6ms wheras a popular review site rtings says its 6.3ms see below I tested at 60hz and was expecting similar results but suprisingly it is much higher. 15.3ms, also this proves indirectly it isn't just a stagnant number generator and is fairly accurate and useful for deciding what mode to run your monitor tv in. and if your into competitive FPS check out this test to see how well your tv does eyetracking. stare at the center ufo then look at the moving ufo you should see a pretty big difference in image. UFO Test: Motion Blur Caused by Display Persistence (testufo.com) And lastly here is a great why to see how calibrated your monitor/TV is EIZO monitors for offices, photos & design, medicine, gaming and industry
  17. alot of people are liking starfield. alot more than I thought, its all where you look, if you are looking for negatives you will find it but read the youtube comments below @bobagonoosh8483 1 day ago I spent 25k to hook up a grav drive to save those people who's ship launched from Earth 200 years ago. I loved the concept of that mission so much, that I wanted to save them. I forget what it's called, but this is a very real dilemma. @heyheywhadyasay2640 1 day ago Initially I was bummed at the lack of choice in dialogue and questlines, but as I've gotten further along that's surprisingly opened up more than I thought it would, which is nice. I've been enjoying it so far. @ezzyy1147 1 day ago I've had a blast these past days with Starfield. I have played it for almost 3 days and I'm currently lvl 30. The game features tons of content with all the different planets, quests, skills with skill upgrades, ship and outpost customizations, and just pure shooting and looting. Not many games have this type of content at release and I can see myself playing this game until I have unlocked every skill there is (which is gonna take a long long time). However, game studios like bethesda still have to improve delivering an experience at launch that is optimized for most modern gaming PCs (I play on PC). A game like Starfield that is full of loading screens for every planet, cave, and large buildings, you would expect a smooth gaming experience with a $3000 gaming PC, but I'm still often getting like down to 40 fps (I have a 3080, i9-12900k) in some locations and to reach an average of 100 fps in this game, you need a 4090 which is just wild. Also, what single player FPS doesn't have a FOV slider in 2023. I changed my FOV in the files of the game, but still. It should be in the settings lol.
  18. true, good point. I think the need is to bump the IQ a notch or two, FSR2 isn't exactly a sight for sore eyes but its not exactly 'pretty'. I welcome it but if it doesn't bump performance over native by 20 percent im not going to be using it and alot of other fellow gamers will follow suite with similar conclusions, alot of people don't like the soft image DLSS brings to the table. dlss in IQ terms is alot like optical zoom versus digital zoom. compare a 10x s21 image to a 10x image on a iphone although AI does a good job narrowing the gap clearly 10x(native) looks better(clearer, more detail) than 2x(10x digital/dlss)/end idea dlss vs native picture comparison - Bing images if people cared about only performance there would only be performance/low settings and no sliders for higher IQ. people care and I think the fact DLSS does such a good job at retaining the big picture people want it.
  19. I saw that on my news feed, unreal what a jerk/ seriously needs to get fired. its like buying a tesla and the auto drive is malfunctioning elon replies just buy a plaid instead of a S next time
  20. ryan

    The Game Of Chess

well Im on fire I might of lost but so would have magnus carlson
  21. I was thinking the dlss mod is broken. people say it looks better and however doesn't improve performance. I saw a video on youtube and it doesn't look like it does anything. people were getting 51-52fps without and 51-52 with. I say we should be patient and wait for the official release of DLSS. typically DLSS bumps performance by as much as 20 percent. In games like crysis remastered I go from 40-50 to 68-78 with dlss
  22. I was told to check out RDR2, I have like 60 good games to play still and my hope is to play and finish all of them, I just have a short attention span. but yeah I am enjoying video gaming enough to say justify a 3080 purchase.
  23. jesus bro...alright ill listen to you....dont let me down RDR2 I like GTA V and to this day am blown away, rockstar does stand out. ok im going to boot it up I downloaded it yesterday
  24. yeah I figure i like it because ive yet to see the competition in depth. lol don't ruin it for me im enjoying it lol..im on a roll it would be awesome for my mental health to get back to reading and playing story driven rgps ign thinks its a stinker and thats that got really bad reviews
