    The Intel Flash Descriptor (FD) is a data structure that is programmed on the SPI flash chip on all Intel based platforms. It contains information such as space allocated for each region of the flash image, read-write permissions for each region, reserved space for vendor-specific data, chipset configuration parameters and more. In the BIOS from Prema FD is blocked by default and therefore, when installing such a BIOS, you do not have access to overwriting all regions (blocks) in the BIOS structure, which in turn can cause incorrect BIOS installation and ultimately leads to the above described consequences. Changing the ME to a fresher and cleaner one also increases the chances of a successful installation.

    As a rule, bios from Prema are blocked from overwriting and when you try to install them, an error may pop up or after a successful installation of the bios, the laptop starts to boot for a long time before the logo, like at the first start after resetting cmos, but this happens after every Windows reboot. In order to avoid the above problems, you need to open your BIOS dump in the Coffee Time 0.92 program and unlock FD locks, as well as update ME to 11.8.77.3664 Corporate and select the ME Disabled value. Save your updated bios dump and download it to your laptop.

    I put 3060/3070/3080 in x170smg, I didn't modify the heatsink, I put the heatsink from x170kmg, they are compatible. You can unlock any original bios from Clevo using an unlocker, the last available bios was 1.07.04 if I'm not mistaken.

When starting with a faulty video card, there can be 3 scenarios: 1) The laptop will boot into the system and give a picture, but when you try to install the driver, artifacts and error 31 or 43 will appear. 2) The laptop will boot with a black screen and will work normally without displaying images on the display, does not go into emergency mode. 3) When you press the power button, the laptop briefly flashes the LED and immediately turns off, this behavior is typical when there is a short circuit on the video card or any other equipment. Also, similar behavior can be with a damaged BIOS chip or a damaged BIOS file structure.

And what is noteworthy, most often this problem manifested itself in the performance mode set in the Clevo Control Center, later, by experience, it was possible to find out the cause of these failures, there was a conflict in power management of the cooling fans, removing the Clevo Fan Control program from the Control Center solved this problem. Later, the corrected Control Center 3.75x appeared, which seems to have solved this problem.
