Today i started my m4600 before ot booted to windows it gave blue screen.. then after restar It wont show or display amything on screen just dark screen. Cant even see the dell logo at boot But i can hear that it booted windows to lockscreen. not good.

wow thats alot we try to save energy but only 3 people live here and i am the one that uses electricity more. we pay around 50 us dollarsevery 2 months

i had try linux on flash drive and even installed to ssd. but only for aa few hours. i tried mint cinnamon. i tried to install a game just like that. stock mint. it failed. so wemt back to windows. i usually just browse,play games. and use some programs when i need to. i think i tried pop OS once.. just to see what is like. tried for half an hour then back to windows. i heard that pop OS have nvidia drivers i dont remember if i try to install mine but could not... maybe the little bit a i know is that it doesnt work out of the box from stock. you need to thinker with it to install most of the things right.? now when you guys mention steam... what is steam.? i know you buy games there... but what if i have old games not from steam.? could i still play them.? is steam sort of a program to run anygames or just steam ones.? if i recall correctly pop OS felt like a phone GUI or there was something very odd that i dislike.. i have always asked if android is based on linux why everything runs in android so good. am going to try gnome ..

you have solar panels.? we have 1 ton mini splits each bedroom so they are 2 and 2 ton mini split on living rom. this year we turn it on on early jun.. only for 5 hours at night... sometimes 5 hours a day.. trying to save energy. the 2 ton on for like 3 hors.. have not received electric bill for this so need to see how much more we are going to pay... our cilamte sucks you sweat by just beign on a chair.. makes you feel dirty.

old post but... sorry for my ignorance. but reading this, you mention linux beign free is the weakness of it because no fixes ar available or you must fix stuff to make it work.. am getting sick of microsoft. they want to control the OS. no freedom to do as you wish. question is what if linux was not free,? will it change a bit.? why are they free and are they going to continue beogn a free OS. since friday i tried W11 i like it. but using startisback only.. but i encounter many problems that i gave up. not sure if they were because of my end or thats how the OS is. i like my OS tweak the way i like it. so i used same tweaks as in W10. all this on a unsupported CPU. i have a 2nd GEN cpu. but i found that at times it would like hang for like 2-3 minutes... had to clean iinstall again.. then once i had it all set up.. it would not shut down i had to press power button.. next start up CANT LOG IN to my profile bla bla bla.. clean install again.. then the last time i could not make it turn off or restart. it would stay at shutting down screen or restarting screnn... i dont know much about linux. but i wish it be more friendly. why not make like windows.. as you mentioned its free. so thats what you get.. why not charge for it.. i think the day that it runs like windows then all people would jumpp to linux.

unless someone here can test and compare to Honeywell one.

am not 100% sure but as we mode more to the equator the hotter it gets right.? more sirect sunlight. the difference between where i live and california is that mexico has concrete walls wich traps more heat. its hot even during the night. as in california at night temps get lower. the more up north the better. i hate hot weather and also makes my anxiety worse. i had toughts about what would be living in canada.

well i had never faced that. i only face this on modded drivers i select driver-hdmi hd sound and optimus.

have nvidia quadro 2000m official driver v377. am trying to get the latest driver version now am on 390.65 but i have seen 392 and 391 drivers. wich i have tried to install but i encounter some problems using nvcleanstall i add hardware id to it. installs fine device manager sees it. but when i try to open nvidia control panel i get error you are not currently using a display attached to an Nvidia GPU

ok am trying to find out with only the download link wich laptop is using that drivers. you can find it on my digital life forum.. so am pretty sure all they post there must be pretty safe.. i beleive that is a microsoft tool not sure if its open source. head there and ask them.

i also tried windows 11 for 2 days.. os seemed like slower but on games i found it more smooth. i also hate to unzip with 7zip i need to click more. the copy paste was a bit confusing.. i could not fins powershell and powershell ise as in win 10 when you click the windows icon. now am back at win 10.. but i think we both have the same toughts on windows 11.. i see someone mentioned to get start is back.. so i might give it a try later. am on unsuppoerted CPU.

well after watching the video. its not what i was looking for what i wanted was performance counters. my goal is to gain the most performance out of my CPU so i found a way to disaable performance counters but. how do i know they are disabled.? thanks

i just updated it yesterday i saw the icon. i didnt like it. so my step was 1 open search type edge righrclick edge and select open file location. then right click and properties. then on target clikc on it and then press END key. hit space then paste this --disable-features=msUndersideButton aplly then right click on the shorcut on desktop and do the same for the shortcut.
