*Official Benchmark Thread* - Post it here or it didn't happen :D
Reciever replied to Mr. Fox's topic in Desktop Hardware
Primarily gaming, browsing and the odd document or two. Larger cache has always only been a benefit to only gaming. This was shown in Broadwell and crystalwell but even then it's not whole sale across the board. It does tend to improve minimums and reduce stutter that may otherwise be present. It would be replacing a 2700x on an itx x570 aorus wifi. I just don't have the time lately to be swapping parts on my primary pc and still have it be useful in a daily driver. 5800x3d will take care of me for quite some time, while letting me tinker without need ING to rebuild due to a time constraint. If I had to buy a motherboard as well then there wouldn't be any interest at all. Just record my timings on the ram and swap it out when I'm not tinkering :) -

Nothing releasing now interests me in terms of CPU products. I just run with my 10850K and Am4 system. If there is something I would pickup it would be the 5800X3D for my daily driver type system and the 10850k would remain the bench system. Though its still hovering around 300+ at the moment on ebay. -

Iirc they don't allow PayPal gift, they had a lot of sketchy people there while I was used to participate there. Especially private vendors. only thing that is the same there now is the name. Everything else has long since departed. That being said not a single time have I ever even heard a rumor of a lack of moral integrity in regards to yourself or your transactions. Passionate in your interests? Surely, stiffing people in a transaction? Unheard of. EDIT: Seems the moderators are slow to action over there. Telling someone they are breaking TOS, multi-posting, thread crapping are all against TOS and worthy of infraction, at least that was the case when I used to surf there. Supposed to report and move on, not engage in battle.- 14 replies

I think that's been part of the issue with this Gen's lineup. The top is so far and away that it's the only appealing product up until you look at the price. Then when looking down towards what your willing to spend you don't see much improvement like you do at the top. Same for amd iirc, obviously there hadn't been as much time for a product stack to mature but right now everything just seems a bit awkward. Instead of a product stack covering differing price points you are almost looking for reasons to pull the trigger. That being said the 4090 is a nice product, pretty much matches are beats a 3090 from what I hear. I guess the next big issue (which is more personal of course) is a lack of enticing reasons to spend the money (not many games taking advantage of the horsepower in a meaningful way)

The moment AMD becomes Dell's offering in their enterprise rack solutions as the advertised pitch should be the moment that a cataclysmic shift just occurred much like an earthquake. Might be a few awkward conversations behind closed doors and maybe a couple of heads on pikes as a peace compromise but still lol -

I really dislike steering things into that genre of discussion but when part of a group you have to consider your actions and how that may reflect. Tough needle for me to thread. If he gets everything sorted I'd imagine he may be welcome again, but that's hypothetical and dependent on circumstances. -

I believe iunlock is still a part of the Prema HWBOT team. Perhaps that may need reconsideration? -

Same person posted here as well I gather I didnt know he was doing system integration work -
He was an affluent laptop bencher on NBR but I don't believe I have seen anyone posting under that handle here. Sorry to hear about your troubles though @Rage Set had similar issues but in reversed roles. I believe he is transitioning out of system integration. I didn't know iunlock did system integration. Did he become a vendor or was this closer to a handshake amongst gentleman?

Its for this reason I probably am going to make the forums default to dark mode, Dark mode should be on as much as possible in my view. -

This forum has good usability from a mobile standpoint as well but that wasnt really something we sought out specifically. Just happened to be a windfall perk. We chose this software since its been around for quite some time, modular and Hiew was familiar with hosting it. If we had all the time in the world then its likely that something else would've been chosen but since we had 5-6 days to build this up and archive the old forum we went with this. That being said, being unable to edit posts is a bit short sighted. For this forums software its just a check box under the perms for each group. Takes about 30 seconds to change. I tried to view the Asus forums from a link in one of your earlier posts and I can only view whats on screen, no scrolling, no page up / down, arrows do nothing. I guess this is to discourage leachers and encourage account creation? No idea. -
Very interesting, thanks for sharing. Im interested in the teardown of the 16" version and what kind of graphics tier they are looking to integrate.

Please use the Multi-Quote, thanks :)

Without risk there is no reward! You can use the zip lines to get around and not to mention move logs too!
-
Zip lines alone make the game better from a logistics standpoint compared to the first. Immensely more efficient

1080p was too small for us, 4K works out better since were inputting 4 1080p sources each with 9x 1080p sources to a 65" 4K TV

PIP isnt really a thing anymore and not what I am looking for, that being said I did find what I wanted. I dont use this in particular, but I have 9 port versions on my other monitors for production uses. https://www.amazon.com/Multiviewer-Seamless-Switcher-Security-Consoles/dp/B0B145ZNT9/ref=sr_1_4?crid=1EOX88KTUJ19K&keywords=hdmi+multiviewer&qid=1679402250&sprefix=hdmi+multiviwer%2Caps%2C115&sr=8-4

I dont have much of the RGB stuff's. Just the LED from the Asus board I bought from @Mr. Fox. I didnt make any changes to it so perhaps the Fox had it set to Red? Or perhaps I left the PC alone for some time and that was the default scheme annnnnd oh, the EVGA 3090 with its RGB accent. When I was mining during the winter I cousin liked it, she treated it as a night light lol. I've always been too cheap on case fans which leads to bad purchases which means I spend more money. That being said this time around I have some Gentle Typhoon 2150rpm fans which have been running more or less non stop for almost 4 years now? This is mostly because I dont have a case, so case fans arent very needed lol, that being said I do have a number of those basic Arctic Cooling 140mm fans just for moving air. I also have some other lesser quality fans which I experiment with from time to time. The next time I experiment with fans, I have been leaning towards looking at Noctua as they have some interesting products. That being said, not buying that Asus card. Could just take the fans off another card and achieve the same effect with 2 fans. Well of course, its your money after all! It was probably a good decision for them to start offering Black fans. I remember seeing people repainting fans to match their cases about a decade ago. -

The brown never really bothered me but I don't build around aesthetics, so I don't tend to see anything in the case when I have the choice. With today's glass everything I guess the issue is more pronounced.
