  1. Well, today Apple had their iPhone and iWatch event, and we are starting to see that they (Apple) is definitely serious enough to say "can we have a 1 size fits all approach in their Apple Game Porting Toolkit. I mean they ran some pretty modern games (but they didn't show Death Stranding, or did they?) in iPhone, unless I got the tidbit wrong. That might turn some heads, and in that case Nintendo and Steam will have some serious competition. Well, good for consumers, I guess.
  2. In the next few years (actually, more like 5-7 years, if the concept still exist and the company still exist, I wouldn't mind spending more (i'm talking probably up to USD200-500 more) just to import this thing. I'm not happy that they're not shipping to Malaysia (maybe because there are other things apart from "can we ship it there", I don't know) right now, but maybe hopefully in the future, unless I know somebody personally in the USA or wherever is the nearest distributor. Somebody is going to make a franken-steam-deck-ish handheld out of this thing, i'm sure.
  3. That depends on where you live, and what is the room temp, and what app you are using to bench it (even if its just your average games). From there its easier to point out what may cause it, and what steps to be taken to cool it down further. This is interesting to know. Mine uses AMD 5600H, so I'm very sure its locked to 3200MHz. But if you're saying I can get faster RAMs to work on 3200MHz but with lower and tighter timings, now you have my full attention. I wonder if energy savings is also part of it (though I can sort of ignore it).
  4. I had a good look at the Gigabyte A5 K1, which confused me a bit because it looked like amalgation of various NH55 parts. On one part, I get NH553-R12, then on another part, NH55ERQ, and on another NH55N-RA1. Its pretty insane. What I've also read, is that AMD 5000 series (in my case AMD R5-5600H) can only take in a max of 3200MHz RAMs, so I guess i'll start searching for those, with really low latency times (I don't know how low / tight, and frankly this subject still makes my head hurt), but if I go with JarrodTech's video, then I guess the importance of order 1. Speed (in my case, capped at 3200MHz) 2. Find low timings / tight timings that is AMD compliant. 3. x8 > x16 bank 4. Is it a single rank or dual rank RAMs? Dual rank > Single Rank, unless I got it wrong? So in theory, does a 32GB 3200MHz 20-20-20-20 (or lower) x8 dual rank stick exist? If there is, I guess i'll go get 2 sticks so I can max out my RAM at 64GB.
  5. I just bought a Gigabyte A5 K1, which is a derivative of Gigabyte G5 family, which itself is a Clevo NP55 family I think, but Clevo site never seemed to indicate any AMD builds so I don't know. So I guess I'll be reporting in here, then! Also, it was a surprised to learn that the laptop I ordered is a rebranded Clevo. The only thing I'm not sure was should I have opted for the AMD 5600 version instead of the Intel 10400H version. (I bought the AMD version). Both come with RTX3060 non MXMs. They killed my Clevo and took it away from me, but they definitely didn't bring the Clevo out of me!
  6. I don't have the proper link save this; from the original website https://www.usb.org/ They announced USB 4.0 Version 2. Taken into account that the new standard should 1) support 80GBps one way (or 40GBps two way?) 2) multiple new voltages (but to support more than 180W, the new voltage is 48V, IIRC, maximum theorical 240W implementation? ) 3) not sure when announced into laptops and desktops (though I think it'll trickle down only to highest end laptops first) I feel like this would create a lot of opportunities for laptop manufacturers to start really looking into designing way better laptops with more I/O ports. I feel this is a game changer that laptops need other than the resurgence of APUs (which AMD based APUs are riding on the wave ever since the launch of SteamDeck)
  7. Thanks! Hoping to contribute also and may this forum quickly grow back to the old numbers it used to have.
  8. Hi. I used to lurk at NBR, spesifically P150SM-A section. I was aware of the changes, and I think I even registered at 1-2 of the replacement forums. I just clicked again the links in reddit, only this one works, so here I am, re-registering and all. Pleased to meet everyone again. 🙂
