The end is very intense. If you are wearing headphones, it would be wise to turn the volume down at the end.

Some guy took my 4800HS scores from me and I've spent all day trying to get them back, and I don't understand how he was able to score what he did. I'm forced to use BenchMate and Windows 10. I've done all of the optimizations I can, but the highest CBR15 score I could get was 1984. The score I need to beat is 2008. Is there anything I am forgetting to do? I have all of my power limits and such maxed out, and thermals aren't an issue. I have stripped Win10 and turned off all of the fancy appearance settings and run the benchmark with around 41-42 total processes running. I also make sure that CB is set to realtime and that it is in the very corner and not visible when running the benchmark. https://hwbot.org/submission/4911337_doctoredo_cinebench___r15_ryzen_7_4800hs_2008_cb -

"I think it's quite plausible that some of these power constrained models (4070), that you know, are $600 because they have way cheaper boards and coolers, they may lose to the 3080 in some games here." "I honestly wouldn't be surprised if another AIB left the market soon, after how nvidia treats them, but, I do have my suspicions on who that AIB may be." All I'm going to say is that we are Kirk and Nvidia is Chuck... -

As Runix said, why would this be? Is there some incompatibility in how the power is delivered or how the GPU tells the laptop how much power is being pulled? -

Cheers from California everyone! It's a lot different from Tennessee, but pretty nice, I'm not used to seeing mountains everywhere I look. I brought my G14 with me on this trip as I didn't want to deal with the P870 on the plane. This is the most I have really used this thing ever, but I've come to realize how annoying and broken Armory Crate is. Is there any alternative that can be used to control fan speeds for ASUS motherboards? I hate this software with a burning passion, but I have to use it to control fan speed the way I want to. I've looked and looked for alternatives, but can't find anything, and I know I'm not the only one who feels this way. On a side note, here are some pictures I have taken. I'm not too happy with them due to the horrendous lighting, but I look forward to getting some nicer ones as I make my through Monterey. -

I plan on doing the same, I see a lot of potential with their strategy; now we must wait for it to snowball... hehehehehehe. I'm glad the process went well! -
I saw this the other day and laughed my head off, hopefully this won't need to be a real job!

That's a shame 😞 I guess I have the unpopular opinion, but I saw potential in Raja. I was kind of rooting for him and Intel when I first heard of the rumors of Intel making GPUs. I see him as a man with a good mind, but bad execution (or just a man who has been played bad cards, I don't really know.) It's a shame he's switching to AI. I personally despise AI in the current environment. It just sounds like "the next big thing" that's been picked up by just about every corporate entity and stripped down to its most barebones form, a big fat buzzword for marketing. Hopefully AI doesn't go too far down that hellish-hole, but only time will tell. With my current, (and most likely flawed) understanding of AI right now, we need to figure out the bigger picture first before we can dive in and work towards extreme efficiency. I believe the methods for AI we utilize are working okay for right now, but could be a lot better if we re-approached them with a different perspective. -

1080 doesn't work 😞 It detects, but code 10 again and the drivers that windows install do not work with neither the 1080 or 1070 (I tested both.) I'd assume this because they are newer. I might try Windows 10 to see if that can fix any problems, but I'm lazy and the adapter should provide enough information to tell if a card can POST or not. I will probably message the seller and see if they respond... -

This adapter is just plain WEIRD... It refused to give a picture by itself and I don't have any motherboards that leave the iGPU on when a dGPU is installed sadly. I had to tear down my SFF Optiplex 990 as it's the only motherboard I have with 2 PCI-e slots. I put my Quadro 600 in the main x16 slot and the 860m in the secondary x4 slot. I finally got everything working, but the 860m gave a code 10 and GPU-Z was brought to its limits. GPU-Z said I had an 860m with a GK104 core, 640 CUDA cores (like the GM107 860m), and 53 TMUs (??????). I had to re-install Win7 on the SSD I was using so I just planned on attempting to install drivers after stuff updated. Finally, during one of the final batches of updates, I noticed Windows automatically installed drivers for both the Quadro and 860m. I immediately switched the DP cable from the Quadro to the adapter and it displayed a picture. I then tried to install drivers via NVCleanInstall and despite me modding the .inf and everything, the "new" drivers would revert the GPU back to a code 10 and display nothing when plugged in. I gave up on driver installation and did a system restore to go back to what I originally had. I then ran Unigine Heaven and the 860m refused to pull over 30 watts. What made this weird was that in GPU-Z, during the benchmark, it always said the GPU was "idle" and hadn't reached its power limit. After failing at the benchmark, I tried taking the Quadro out to see if it would POST with just the 860m. Something else I noticed was that the 860m would NOT show a picture until Windows loaded and the drivers for it loaded. (This reminds me when people upgraded non-pascal laptops with pascal+ GPUs and finding that everything worked, but they would lose BIOS access.) With only the 860m in and in the x16 slot, the motherboard would beep 32 times and then proceed to boot normally without a picture at all. I still can't figure out what the beeping indicates for this proprietary board, but it doesn't really matter. I then went back to 860m in x4 slot and Quadro in x16 slot and checked event viewer and Windows did say it booted and loaded correctly whenever I had only the 860m in. I then tried putting the 860m in the x16 slot with the Quadro in the x4 slot, but that produce the same problem, only this time, the Quadro was able to display an image, but drivers weren't loaded for both GPUs. I also noticed the very bottom DP port on the adapter doesn't work, but that may be because the 860m was never intended to be able to output on 4 displays. This adapter is weird, but good enough to test things. Hopefully NorthwestRepair can work his magic whenever it gets sent to him, maybe he can figure out how this adapter works too. Only time will tell. -

I could do this, but I'd have to fabricate a cooler, and one that would be universal for standard MXM GPUs. It would also have to not stick out too much as if it weighs too much, it could bend the card/adapter. I'd have to make something thats more vertical and has a way to better support its weight. Its possible though, we will see. -

Saw this post earlier at school and my friend and I lost it. The idea of shipping this beast across the country seems like a task that even the delivery companies would quiver in fear of even thinking about Good luck to you, and whoever the buyer ends up being! I wish you both a good transaction and safe shipping, lol. -

Yeah, thats what I plan on doing. I can hold the MXM card in the slot, but 1 availble hand is worse than 2 lol. I'll probably zip tie my 880m to the adapter. My order I will be going in is 880m -> 860m -> 1080 I will start with the 880m because if this adapter is bad, I don't risk killing a working card. I will test voltages of Vcore and PEX while it's in the adapter to ensure it its getting some kind of power. I'll then stick in the 860m to test if it can show a picture as I know that thing works, if it does end up getting that far, I'll take out my 1080 in my P870 and stick it in there to test if it will work with the Clevo cards that require the added 8 power connector. If it works with the 1080, I will ship it over to NorthwestRepair alongside the 2080. I'd like to test the 2080, but diagnosing MXM cards is hard (especially those Clevo ones.) The fact that when I tried testing it in the P870 and the computer shut off really quickly seems to be a message discouraging me from sticking the 2080 into this adapter. The P870 knows more than I do, and if I can guarantee that this adapter works, I'd hate to kill it OR burn a hole in the 2080. Dead adapter won't be fun, and a hole in the 2080 is a lot less fun than that, you can fix the adapter, but not holes... I'm trying to repair a dead RTX 2080 Super MXM that I purchased from the kind @electrosoft 🙂 For convenience of the guy doing the repair, I will send him this adapter with the card as he doesn't have any other way to test MXM GPUs sadly. -

Adapter came, and it isn't looking too good... There are no standoffs to actually screw the MXM card into the board and no instruction manual or guide whatsoever, just the adapter, 8 pin Clevo power adapter, and a bracket to mount in a case. The little L shaped part of the PCB on the bottom is shaped weird, and won't allow the card to sit right with some of my motherboards. I also noticed that some of the ICs on the back appear to be sanded so that you can't read waht model they are. I assume they did this as they are either stolen designs, or don't want anyone re-manufacturing this board from the ground up. I haven't tested it yet as my monitor is terrible and doesn't like detecting desktops before they get into the BIOS, so I usually get no picture, even with boards I know work. The only display I can use to test is my downstairs TV, but my family is usually down there, so I will have to wait until late at night to test everything. I really hope this POS works, it is NOT worth 150 dollars, but its the only adapter that is made... I am yet again forced to settle for garbage, something I refuse to do unless it is the only option 😞 This is a bit off-topic, but I thought I'd mention it with the topic of this poorly built adapter: -

That 4060ti is really neutered, damn... Nvidia really did slip up this generation, they just shifted the SKUs down a tier and people aren't saying much. Even that 4060 is rough; the only thing I can argue in its favor for is that the 1060's TGP was around 120w, but even this doesn't justify it using a 107 class chip with a 128 bit bus WHILE HAVING LESS VRAM AND CORES THAN LAST GENERATION??!?? -

I love this guy; he expends so much energy getting angry and heated at things that don't matter LOLOL. Don't like AMD? Avoid them and tell people why you think they should follow your footsteps in not buying from them. He just doesn't get it and curses just about every other sentence. I am convinced this man is a true CLOWN. -

I'm a bit out of the loop, but why does GPU-Z say 6950XT series? Did you flash a different vBIOS to the card is that just what GPU-Z reports despite you really having a 6900XT? Also, nice scores, you have a lot more potential 🙂 -

Your 980m is normal. @DoenerBoy123manually added some extra MOSFETs to smoothen and strengthen the power delivery for his 980m. Yours is completely stock, so don't worry about it missing any components. -

Yeah, Eurocom has a bunch of them, but they also have this Nvidia one. These ones are the best adapters as they were produced by Nvidia for AIBs to test and build MXM cards. They are common in China, but are becoming hard to find (they were always hard to get) due to MXM being almost completely abandoned. This is why they are priced ridiculously high. The goal is to test my adapter with my 860m and 1080 and if it works with them, send it over to Tony alongside the 2080 Super so he has something to test the 2080 with. I'll be waiting a month for it to ship though which is a bit inconvenient but oh well. I have no clue, I wish I knew. I've never really talked to him, but I'd pay that man just to sit with and talk to for an hour. He's in the career field I am wanting to pursue and I assume he has lots of experience doing what he does. I don't really know any EEs personally but he's the closest guy I "know." -

Just pulled the trigger on one of these: Or this... The Chinese sellers on Ebay do a terrible job describing which one I'll actually get, but I'd prefer the top one as its better, but as long as the one I get works, I'll be happy. Should be useful for diagnosing my other cards too. I recently stuck my dead 880m in my P870DM and tested the voltages, Vcore and PEX were good, but I was getting no voltage readings for the memory phase of the VRM. I'd like to figure out what exact component is breaking the chain in order to supply voltage to the memory, hopefully I can figure it out at some point; I really want to get good at this kind of stuff... If only Khenglish was here 😞 -
Found this video very amusing. Reminds me of my families troubles with AT&T when we moved into our new house; we didn't get working internet for ~2 months...

Try using older drivers. MXM GPUs installed in laptops that were never meant to run said GPU don't act well with newer drivers. If that doesn't work, try flashing a Dell vBIOS to the card, and if that doesn't work, your card is probably on its way out. However, hearing that the card boots normally and still functions without artifacts and crashes shows that it should be a driver or vBIOS problem.
