  1. Almost as timestamp, LOOL My Cablemod 180 Adapter on a 4090 TUF after 2.5 months of use... 9 days later... Mine finally started to melt too, been 3 months with the 180 adapter... 4000 series haven't 4080Ti so the new 4080 Super will be the old xx80Ti model branding. 3080Ti vs 3090 was minor in difference. You think this will be the new 4080Ti? https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/geforce-rtx-4080-ti.c3887 If they do it this way they can continue with 4090 at 1600$. But if the rumors above was correct (20% performance increase that won't match the increased cuda cores above the 4080). Techpowerups info rumors suggest +44% more cuda cores. 14080 vs 9728 cores. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT Gets a Huge Price Cut in Europe, Now Available for Less than โ‚ฌ800 GPU Shipments Continued To Decline In Q1 2023: NVIDIA at 84%, AMD at 12%, Intel at 4% Market Share
  2. Thanks. What with the 4080 Super? Will it be 1199$ and close to 4090 performance, same as 3080Ti vs 3090? Or will Nvidia continue and brand it 4080Ti? Or and will they put an higher price tag for this SKU? AMD 7970 - 3DM 2001 https://hwbot.org/submission/5290219_papusan_3dmark2001_se_radeon_hd_7970_178411_marks?recalculate=true Fun part bro Fox. If the GPU overclock is too high with the older AMD cards the pc will freeze and the Cpu run full speed. With older nvidia card the bench just blink out in nothing and the Cpu will run normal. In short just start up the bench again without the need for re-start. I'm not very happy with how the older AMD cards works and their drivers.
  3. And what are your take on this? Btw. Galxax seems to adjusting prices. But in Asia and not for the whole stack of cards. I wonder why they make the big change for the 4080 (-140$). GALAX China reportedly lowers the price for select GeForce RTX GPUs, 4080 to be up to $140 cheaper
  4. Yep, it looks like 4080 Super will get closer to 4090 performance (screw those 4090 buyers that paid +$400 in price premium). Looks like Nvidia prefer the Super branding over Ti. And 3080Ti vs 3090 performance was quite close. Hence they need the 4090 Super to be able to sell xx90 cards. In the end... Maybe the better custom 4090 Super AIC cards will land around 2300$. Some maybe even 2400$. Its amusing you have to pay 66% more for maybe 20% higher performance (4090 Super vs 4080 Super) so nothing new here. Both SKUs got one price tier up from previous gen cards. The Super cards should never have existed and the new 4090 Super should have been branded Titan.
  5. @VasudevMaybe add this video in OP post. Der8auer Rants About Misleading W/mK Marketing (Thermal Conductivity)
  6. What rubs me hard the wrong way.... I haven't seen many melted cables/adapters from the OEM or the pigtail cables from the 4090 package the last months (one or two cases I think the last 5 weeks). Remember etc CableMod have sold around 55.000 units. But 4090 more likely sold in the 300-500.000 cards now. And the nvidia 12VHPWR connectors is mostly soldered on all 4000 series cards. So well over 1 mill cards is already sold. So see it this way... CableMods new modern adapers go into the whole stack of the different 4000 series cards. Not only for the 4090s. Many want them due design/and because they have small cute PC boxes (you can't even lock the chassis door due the space the 12VHPWR cable need). And be you sure.... If many of the OEM cables or the Nvidia pigtail mess melting/burn up... We would have seen it on etc Reddit. And you don't find them there only the CableMods adapters that melt up in fire and smoke. Yep, not everyone will tell about their burned up cards on forums/social media, but we should at least have seen some cases if it was a major problem also with the OEM cables/pigtail box adapters. More of same messed up from todays tech world.... This is only rumors... Now its the xx90 cards turn to get the price hike the lower end SKUs got when they launced. 25% up for 10% higher performance. Of course Nvidia won't increase the prices for the other Super SKUs. They just price the top end SKU up $400. Then 8 months later we will get 5090, same as for the 3090Ti. https://www.pcgamesn.com/nvidia/rtx-4000-super-leaked-specs Edit. Forgot. Congrats with the new screen bro @tps3443 ๐Ÿ™‚
  7. HaHa. So Cablemod have now made the new fire-adapter avaiable for their Store? Could be a better choice if they have improved their QC on newest products. See bolded text. I think I'll stick with the PSU manufacturers own 12VHPWR cable. And they are pretty enough for me. And with a big black box you shouldn't be afraid for the bending cable requirements. Yep, isn't it nice with a big PC chassis?๐Ÿ˜€ With a small box you risk have to buy those new modern toy adapters to be able to connect the power cables to your nice new GPU. Yep, I'll stick to the best from both worlds๐Ÿ˜
  8. Where is the quality control? This is todays normal.... QC issues = CableMod and AMD. I wonder how many got melted connectors/too high voltage drop due bad quality/or their QC issues. A seemingly nice looking adapter can have inbuilt issues that willl pop up and bite you later. Not sure whats best between immediate fire or getting a ticking bomb. What you prefer bro @electrosoft?๐Ÿ˜Ž Ticking bomb, so you can have a nice looking adaper in your pc box a few months forwards? Issues with 40 Series Card disconnecting and Angled Adapter (GPU Disconnects) We both have found that removing the angled adapter helped us und we both are going a few days without the issue, usually it would happen more then once in 3 hours.
  9. Dell Australia found guilty in federal court of deceptive sales practices Ordered to refund monitor purchases, with other possible penalties to follow The company also said that it is considering refunding customers "with interest" to make up for its blunder and is taking measures regarding its pricing procedures to ensure that the mistake doesn't happen again. Dell said a pricing mistake on the website was to blame, which was its defense when the ACCC filed its lawsuit last November.
  10. Sum up: Finally had some time check after reviews. The little 750W SFX I bought in the used market a few weekes ago is quite good. And works perfectly as second PSU for powering more internal peripherals and my older GPUs when the HOF is disconnected from the black box. Happy with the purchase. Everyone should buy a big enough big box. Highly recommended๐Ÿ˜€ Cooler Master V750 SFX Gold Power Supply Review Performance As this is a small factor power supply, there will always be some limitations if you directly compare it to standard full-sized (standard) models. Put simply, thereโ€™s only so much performance you can cram in a space as small as this. Despite that fact, however, Cooler Master has still done a really remarkably job here. Not only did this pretty much easily handle all of the tests we threw at it, but in many instances, it did remarkably better than it had any expectation to. The clear highlights come in the fact that this nearly achieves a platinum efficiency level, and providing some of the lowest ripple results we have seen from a small factor design, Cooler Master has packed a lot of punch in this small package!
  11. And don't update. See bolded text below. Newer doesn't always mean better. Btw. Did you test out some claims... They got back Cpu performance with Nvidia's latest drivers. But I doub't that being real for the Cpu.
  12. Isn't it cute. It seems Igorslab editors/employees avoid commenting on the ongoing smoke with the HW they have tested from CableMod (gave their thumbs up for the buyers on the fence). Even Igor Wallossek avoid the 90 degree smoke Hell topic as cancer. That understandable, but not very adviced if he still want some credibility. Igor Wallossek also avoid commenting in his own created review thread for the 90 degrees adaper. Oh'well, not nice if your advices pans out into smoke and disaster for some. When you meet yourself in the door..... 12VHPWR 180ยฐ adapter melted tight! igorslab/forum
  13. Thats great. Rounded corners is probably one of the worst I see with the new and shiny. I really really hate it. A such minor difference to the better is major if I want Win 11 or not on my PC. And I don't want to test out new Win 11 versions before I see a real improvement. No point in spend time with it now. GTX 580 - 3DM 05. Got a few more points ๐Ÿ™‚ https://hwbot.org/submission/5289230_papusan_3dmark05_geforce_gtx_580_86217_marks?recalculate=true
  14. Nice write up bro Fox. I have seen people enjoy the Ghost Spectre custom OS. And many get bad results. Those that can make it run better have probably done some changes. I hate the rounded corners.... You have it probaly. But here it is Win11DisableOrRestoreRoundedCorners.exe

  16. This one is for my old friend @electrosoftwho hate the whining sound ringing in his (small and cute?) ears. You're welcome my friend๐Ÿ™‚ https://www.computerbase.de/2023-06/spulenfiepen-was-tun-wenn-geforce-rtx-4000-und-radeon-rx-7000-fiepen/
  17. Will Asus do as Gigabyte and make revisions number for the "new" Strix cards so people can avoid buying their old cards that struggle with coil whine? Or will this also be one extra part in the lottery when you buy their Asus Strix cards? See it this way.... You can loose in the silicon lotter, vram lottery and now the coil whine lottery. I wonder how many will win in all 3๐Ÿ˜Ž My best guess... Nope. Asus don't want loads of RMA cases due people try feed +1.5v to the GPU cores.
  18. GTX 980Ti - 3DM 2001 https://hwbot.org/submission/5287966_papusan_3dmark2001_se_geforce_gtx_980_ti_214790_marks
  19. Yep, because the highest boost clocks they want massive premium. https://hwbot.org/submission/5287902_papusan_3dmark03_geforce_gtx_980_ti_332710_marks?recalculate=true Thats a grea price and a nice PSU. Close to 250$ on Evga. But out of stock https://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=220-P3-1000-X1
  20. Here as well. Most of the new 850W PSUs haven't enough 8pin connectors to power up 7900 series AMD graphics cards. What a failure. You need buy their top end models if you want to go with the new and shiny AMD graphics cards. Isn't that cute? bro @Mr. Fox๐Ÿ˜€ You go with AMD because they offer the cheapest new graphics cards but you have to buy the more expensive PSUs to power them up, LOOL How dificult was it to use the head? You need 3 power connectors for the CPU/MB and 3 for the new AMD cards. And yet, the overpaid enginners couldn't do the math and see this. Blinded by own talent?๐Ÿ˜• @ryanwhat is a genius? Some sorts of stupidity? ENERMAX Brings New PSUs and AIO Liquid Coolers to Computex 2023 Seasonic Shows ATX 3.0 and PCIe Gen5 PSUs, MagFlow Fans, and Goes Industrial at Computex 2023
  21. Put it this way. Asus said they have saved up the best chips for the coming collector model +2500$ Asus 4090 Matrix cards (AIO). In short... The Strix is in the lottery and the low end models get the worst chips. So the best chance to get what to expect is in the low end ๐Ÿ™‚
  22. Two in a row. This one on top looks quite bad. I would avoid use the 90/180 degrees adapters. Almost all reports of smoke and fire the last month is with those custom adaters. I don't see burned custom/vanilla 12VHPWR cables anymore. A real waste of money if you think such adapter will reduce the chance for fire due because it offer minimum bending of cables. And the aesthetics (form over function) won't be as hoped once the smoke have run out. Save your money and rather buy a PSU specific cable adapter from the PSU manufacturer๐Ÿ˜Ž 12VHPWR 180 Degree Angled Adapter Melted. 90 degree adapter melted In short... The CableMod custom adaper is a ticking bomb in same way as the AMD server chips๐Ÿ˜€ AMDS Epic moment.... AMD's EPYC Rome Chips Crash After 1,044 Days of Uptime
  23. Isn't that better than none of the chips being binned?๐Ÿ˜Ž GTX 980Ti - Hwbot Ungine Heaven https://hwbot.org/submission/5287282_papusan_unigine_heaven___basic_geforce_gtx_980_ti_11968.46_dx9_marks
  24. Regarding binning... I think people get it wrong. They bin "out the worst chips" for the better models. They don't bin for the best chips. Thats a major difference.
  25. Yep, the shrinkind trend continue. This time Gigabyte. Or shall we rather say cost cuttings to increase profits. I have my doubt this new change from Gigabyte will offer same cooling as the older model. Skinny and thinner design usually come at a costs. This trend have we seen from Apple. And this won't bring any benefits. Maybe for those with the mini PC boxes that will run even hotter now with graphics cards that is adopted for the box design. Making graphics cards that fits the smallest PC boxes will never be a good thing @Mr. Fox Is smaller better? Why not shrink it further and make it a real 2 slots design? Nvidia allows up to above 80C so that don't stop them from more stupid design solutions. Gigabyte Shrinks Cooler, Relocates 16-Pin Connector on Revised RTX 4090 Gigabyte (via Twitter user Vectral) has quietly revised the brand's GeForce RTX 4090 WindForce 24G graphics card. The V2 model features a more compact design, with the 16-pin power connector transplanted to the rear of the graphics card instead of the side placement. Why use the space for more cooling? More metal and longer heat pipes will only increease costs. In short what Gigabut say... Less metal and shorter heat pipes don't make worse cooling capacity... Why not remove even more of the metal and use even shorther heatpipes? They can even save more $$$.... And modern VC cost more. So why spend more money than needed for the cooling?
