Here it cost $730 on the cheapest web store (Acer Store here home it is closer to $850)😉 So you literally paid 1/2 the price vs what I have to pay🙂 -

If you get the Copper IHS be sure that the cold-plate on the AIO is sanded completely flat. -

Papusan replied to Mr. Fox's topic in Desktop Hardware
Its already tested that the slighly bigger surface on some custom IHS don't provide better results. And the difference in size area isn't that big. I prefer the orginal lid if I use the Cpu in desktops. Also in LGA laptops if the mounting pressure was good enough. But that's not the case for laptops. Hence a thicker custom lid works best in LGA laptops. How is the temp spread within the cores? And can the CPU run within 13900K PL2 specs (253w)? -

The EK-Quantum Velocity² IHS Removal Tool is fragile. And you need more tries to get of the lid. In the process you break the the tool and make it useless afterwards. You can't sell it and you risk have to pop of the lid with a another tool. The EK-Quantum Velocity² IHS Removal Tool is better for the 12th gen that have the caps around the die. And the 12th gen is easier to pop of the lid. Edit. The der8auer EK delidder work the opposite way of etc Rockit-cool delidder. None is happy with the EK quality of the delidder. -

Nope. Not delidded. This 13900K and motherboard will be sold on the used market here home. None buy delidded Cpu's. They want warranty over better temps. The 9% larger contact area is just dumb. You won't gain anything from this. The orginal Intel lid is prefered for desktops. Custom IHS if slightly higher is prefered for LGA laptops. From what I have seen... The der8auer branded EKWB delidder is weak and will break in pieces. A fragile Alu piece of metal. Some need to try delidde the Cpu +5 times and the delidder is useless afterwards. If you was lucky enough to fix the delidde before it breaks in pieces. The (der8auer branded) EKWB delidder is prefered I think for use with 12th gen due the caps around the die. -

I think it's intentional to circumvent one of Nvidia's locks. But weird nothing was in the Kingpin thread. I think Kingpin himself or his workers did the mod. Who else? Rare I have problem with System info. Could be the combo with the trash software and your graphics card. Sometimes it seems the load from that monitor software tax the Cpu more than the Physics test, LOOL 2nd 3DM 11 Entry - GTX 980 https://hwbot.org/submission/5230214_papusan_3dmark11___entry_geforce_gtx_980_37654_marks https://hwbot.org/submission/5230220_papusan_3dmark11___extreme_geforce_gtx_980_8672_marks -

Try with the old fashion DVI cable or just us an adapter plug from HDMI/displayport to DVI. My Kingpin card refused to use HDMI/displayport with the XOC vbios. Only DVI worked out. ----------------------------------------------------------------- It seems AMD also will go the stupid route with baby cores... LOOL. The Nr.1 overclocker in the world saved once again due his "free" 56 core monster from Intel to fix the total score with his 4090. This time with LN2 overclocked 4090🙂 And yep, he even got the unlocked software and the unlocked Galaxy xx.xx.xx.xx.46 to play with. https://hwbot.org/submission/5228372_splave_3dmark___time_spy_extreme_geforce_rtx_4090_22395_marks Enjoy bro @Mr. Fox😀I haven't the unlocked software/vbios from Galax. Only the chosen one/elite can have that. Should wish I had it I as well. But as yoiu know.... I'm not worth it/not the chosen one. https://www.3dmark.com/compare/spy/36769126/spy/36676355# -

Bro @Mr. Fox want to hear about the K|ngp|n XOC vbios experience for older cards? Retarded. First... It will flash but you got blackscreen with no boot. You put in a second GPU to try fix it then you find that the vbios is still the same. And you try two or three times more with the same retarded experience. Second... I found a way to flash the Evga Kingpin XOC vbios. But you can't use neither the HDMI or one of the 3x mini-DisplayPorts. You are forced to use the old fashion DVI port to make it work without black screen or to make the screen light up. Probably a way Evga did to go around Nvidia's disgusting locks. But this is an half baked solution. None of this was mentioned in the op post in the official Kingpin thread on oc.net. I wish I rather got a Galax HOF 980. I'm quite sure they managed the XOC vbios better. And they are even the only player in graphics card today that offer more than the vanilla half baked firmware forced or introduced by nvidia. They even offer software for the chosen one for all control of the graphics cards power settings. There you have it.... Both black screen, no firmware change even if the flash was succsessful and on top you are forced to use the old fashion DVI port released for over two decades ago to make it works. When did HDMI and DisplayPorts take over for full for Nvidia graphics? ZOTAC Unveils First Graphics Card with DisplayPort And I know Nvidia had HDMI (mini-HDMI )connector atleast for first gen Fermy graphics cards (400 series). -

See @Talon post below. I'm quite sure he never delidded his 13900K. Regarding failed CPU's... Rather look at AMD's higher tier V-cashe chips. It offer less productivity performance but slightly better in gaming. But if people like this type tradeoff's, then ok. It's their choice and their money. You can't please all. If you have oc'ing as hobby... Going with Intel will never fail. In short a more fun Cpu to play with despite the less appealing baby cores. -

This is why you should never ever patch your machines on day one or within firs one or two weeks. This is doomed to happen one time every single month when Microsoft throw out new buggy CU patches. This looks fun... Blue Screen of Death in rare cases.

3060 desktop card was 170w TGP or 48% higher than the new and shiny from nvidia with LESS VRAM AND CORES. As you can see... The whole card is dumb-ed down as the mobile junk. When you cripple the card you have to do it properly. Everything has to be castrated. They just can't do it halfway. Intel on the other hand.... And why they put in Baby cores for majority of their mainstram chips... Intel Xeon W9-3495X Sapphire Rapids CPU Sips Almost 2 Kilowatts of Power When Overclocked Me visit Nvidia HQ.... -

Weird if they haven't tested this under the developement/design before finished product. But yep, older high end PC boxes used the rads the way you describe when they had a radiator chamber at bottom/top. Here is another failed product.... Same $500 price-tag if I buy one here home. If I can find one. Review: Acer Predator BiFrost Intel Arc A770 OC. Yep, a OC card in the naming but no way to alter memory speed. https://en.overclocking.com/review-acer-predator-bifrost-intel-arc-a770-oc/11/ Step 3: Manual overclocking To do this, we went back to the Intel drivers and the software that allows you to set up and monitor your graphics card. We were able to push the Boost frequency to 2580 MHz while keeping the fan in automatic mode. Unfortunately, there is still no way to change the memory frequency. It’s a very good thing that overclocking is easier than at launch, hoping to see the memory frequency unlocked in the coming weeks. The 3rd and 4th bad products for the day... NVIDIA RTX 4060 (Ti) Founders Edition has allegedly pictured videocardz.com Why castrate the TGP in same way as nvidia do for their mobile graphics cards? Whats the reason do this for lower tier desktop card when they increased TGP for their flagship? Reduce the useful lifspan so people/gamers is forced to buy next gen cards at launch day ---- 5060 with even more castrated TGP? The direction going the wrong way for desktop cards as they have done for power castration for mobile cards in laptops. This is just sad. https://videocardz.com/newz/nvidia-geforce-rtx-4060-ti-founders-edition-has-been-pictured-as-well -

A useless feature created by Microsoft. How to Enable or Disable Hardware Accelerated GPU.... Here is another thing you''ll waste your time on. Is this the worst of this years cooling product? 1x120mm and 1x240mm 30mm radiators baked together as one unit. And the $500 USD price tag for this package don't make it looking better. Only worse. Whom is this new fancy cooler box meant for? You can mosly fit in an 360mm custom cooling/AIO in most of the mini PC boxes so I just can't see people will buy a box nr 2 to when the intent with your mini PC box was to reduce the mess/clutter around the gaming table/workplace or take it with you in another place in your house/or out to a friend for a gaming session. What a wasted opportunity to make something avsome in cooling from Alphacool. I give it minus 1 out of 5. Is minus 1 less or more than 1 bro @ryan? Nice results bro Talon 🙂 You said.... "I would keep the vBIOS and attempt a clean Nvidia driver install" Not sure what you meant by this. Flashing the 980 Kingpin XOC vbios just render your PC un-bootable. All black. Nothing show up after re-boot or after cold boot. Just a screen Black as Hell. But I found a way to make it work. But it shouldn't be like this. If you flash any type firmware, the PC should be able to boot up again and reach Windows log in screen or the bios boot menu if the flash was succsessful. Not black as Hell. And I'm not the first one to discover the black screen mess with this buggy Evga XOC Kingpin vbios. Some even gave up flash it. https://hwbot.org/submission/5227659_papusan_gpupi_v3.3___1b_geforce_gtx_980_17sec_544ms/ https://hwbot.org/submission/5227942_papusan_aquamark_geforce_gtx_980_597133_marks/ Isn't it sweeeet? Micosoft should let it be optional whatever you want Windows Defender to be installed or not when you do your clean Windows OS install. Being forced into features you don't want isn't nice. Yep, you can fix it it afterwards, but I don't want have to clean up others mess afterwards Maybe buy 4 so you have a better chance than he here.... Still... They want close to 500$ for their best PSU's. They could offer one for free or do as Corsair and rest of the High tier brand offer a cable on their Store. They did that for the 3090 but that cable don't works for 4000 series. They scrapped graphics card and wanted to offer better value for their other gears. This is wrong move whatever you say. And they sell more than one PSU models. The lower tier cater to the average Joe and he will go back to the same brand for all parts. " no financial incentive to make one" Push you over on Alibaba or Ebay is a bad move if you want stay on top and be relevant in High end. And this smells bad when you said you now will put more strain into offer the best money can get for High end Gears for PC's. This smells as the swan's song for EVGA. In short... Not sure we will see EVGA the way they was anymore. They could close the door and disepair. Or be sold to weirdos/well known brand that will destroy it. -

This looks fun bro @Mr. Fox Even Kingpin XOC vbios doesn't play well with Maxwell nowadays. First voltage cap in drivers from Nvidia and now I see EVGA's own XOC vbios doesn't play well with the card it was meant for. On top EVGA have forgot that there is people that have paid near $500 for their best PSU's and they force you to buy unofficial 12VHPWR cable adapters for 4000 series Nvidia graphics on Alibaba, ebay etc similar shops. Nice with todays tech (companies). They all sucks! https://extremehw.net/topic/1750-evga-gtx-980-kpe-vbios-modding-adventure/?do=findComment&comment=35662
