Here's a few pics of the old paste and pressure testing of the Gtx 580. A huge old Nvidia heatspreader needs cheapest possible thermal paste. And Colgate toothpaste fits the bill 🙂 The owner said the card was repasted a few months ago. I opened it up to see and can't see he succeded very much in that. A bare die as they use nowadays is a lot better than this huge heatspreader. Not even sure if it's nickel plated copper as Intel do for their IHS. Cleaned off the mess. Btw. For those that haven't seen it. Clevo is soon out with a new High End gaming laptop Clevo X270 God have mercy with the buyers, if this is the successor to X170 (I don't even know what I would brand it - Joke or a Turd). -
Yep, why brand it X270 if this isn’t the Xx70 successor? Is this a dark joke or is this the coming gaming flagship product from Clevo? Maybe @Premaknow. What I know is that Intel first will let the Asia’n market have their first desktop graphics cards before rest of the world (and I know Clevo also targeting that market). Expect Clevo will add (weld/solder) in next gen Nvidia graphics cards when they are officially out, spring 2023. Maybe earlier if Nvidia want/or demands it to stay in front of AMD..

Look at this. The the successor to the Clevo's High performance laptop. The replacement for the LGA / MXM monster Clevo X170 and previous Clevo P870xx series.. Say hello to Clevo X270. Is this a bad Joke or a bad dream? Want it bro @jc_denton @electrosoft ? Just don't forget that this new Clevo monster-book comes with a Turbbook Cpu from Intel. Pair it with Intel's new graphics cards and you can clearly see where Clevo went after a deacde with proper gaming laptops. What a sick sick world we live in. Clevo's X270 (opens in new tab) is a 17.3-inch gaming notebook powered by Intel's 12th Gen Core 'Alder Lake-H' processor and the company's flagship Arc Alchemist(opens in new tab) A770M mobile GPU that is cooled down using a dual-fan cooling system featuring seven heat pipes and liquid metal. Yep,a smart move from Clevo... Comments are turned off.

Hi bro Legi. The new MSI model fits very well in the thread 4 controversial laptop trends that shoud have never made it. Remember the old days MSI offered 200W graphics in their high end gaming laptops? Not anymore. The new GT model come with a shared Max TDP at 250W. Whats next? Go down to 240 or even 200W? One thing for sure.... Dual 280/330w power bricks isn't needed anymore due the thin design trend. The next will be offering a slim and pretty 240W USB-C adapter to power the most powerful laptops (gaming or creator models)... USB-C is about to go from 100W to 240W, ... - The Verge

As I said it depends on the laptop OEM. But for the XM you could clock both (still if the OEM let you do that). Confirming your statement and thats correct. Edit. See also... Intel QuickPath Interconnect - Wikipedia -

You could play both with multi and bus speed. The XM was unlocked (how much/high depending on the laptop OEM). -
Add more Cpu performance then have to cripple the graphics performmance further on already crippled mobile graphics cards. The (progress) trend continue. They should be ashamed of offering a product like this. How hard is it to make a refreshed cooler that can cool 5-10 more watts? But people want it so.... They'll get what they want (Yey another refreshed model with too weak and flimsy cooling). This is just sad. Dell XPS 17 9720 graphics is actually slower than on the XPS 17 9710, but CPU performance has improved Dell has quietly lowered the GeForce RTX 3060 TGP from 70 W to 65 W on the latest XPS 17 9720 series. The minor hit to graphics performance may be worth the more significant increase in CPU performance What a disgusting progress.....

These fools buy pc/computers after reding reviews from HW reviewers that praise trash in all ways. If you like everything you review, you will always give wrong advices. People can't use their head anymore. They prefer listening on stupids. Stupidity is today's normal 😟 This $279 Lenovo convertible laptop is a real steal pcworld.com

Isn't this the benchmark thread. I'm sure he would enjoy put in an benchmark stickers on his desktop. Imagine a new Hwbot wallpaper and a nice sticker on top right side. Microsoft know exactly what we want🙂 Yep, we can continue in the Win 10 thread section 🙂 -

But, but.... Do you want some Stickers on your Windows desktop? Microsoft is working on integrating support for placing stickers on the Windows 11 desktop. Users who run a recent Windows 11 version 22H2 Insider build can enable the functionality to test it The Windows 11 Microsoft Store opens up to all Win32 apps... oh, and ads, too Isn't fancy stickers on the desktop and Ads on their refreshed Store a good thing? I'm not so sure they have lost their touch🤪 They are improving in stupidity and what they think you'll want from them. They just deliver, bro Fox. In loads. -
Microsoft know exactly what features you'''' need for your Windows pc. Do you want some Stickers on your Windows desktop? by Martin Brinkmann on May 27, 2022 in Windows 11 Help, - 40 Microsoft is working on integrating support for placing stickers on the Windows 11 desktop. Users who run a recent Windows 11 version 22H2 Insider build can enable the functionality to test it The Windows 11 Microsoft Store opens up to all Win32 apps... oh, and ads, too Among the plethora of announcements to come out of Build 2022, Microsoft had quite a bit of news relating to the Microsoft Store in Windows 11. With a sly dig at rivals, the company pointed out that developers are able to use their own in-app commerce engines and retain one hundred percent of revenue. But the announcements about what is new are far more noteworthy. While developers and users alike will welcome full Microsoft Store support for Win32 apps, news about the arrival of Microsoft Store Ads is likely to prove more divisive. But this is not the end of the Store-related announcements.

Defender is causing major problems for Windows 20H2 users Microsoft Defender for Endpoint is the root cause of some pretty nasty....... May 2, 2022 Defender is the root cause for high memory usage and black screens on Windows 10 20H2. Apparently, the problem isn't new and has been observed causing trouble for the past month. This bug also affects software such as Windows Event Viewer, Word 2016, and newer versions. Not everyone is interested in looking for antivirus protection from other companies, and would rather stick with Microsoft’s security solutions. Defender was recently rated pretty high for the services it provides, so that’s not a bad thing at all, considering how much time the company puts into perfecting it. However, Defender users are not having such a great time lately, as the software is causing all sorts of major issues for the Windows 20H2 users.

The Witcher 3 presents a more real-world picture of how CPU and GPU metrics can change during gaming. Here, we also see Dynamic Boost coming into action with the RTX 3070 Ti now able to sustain fairly well between 140 W and 150 W TGP and boost clocks at 1,800 MHz. The Core i9-12900H settles for a 3 GHz clock at a much lesser TDP requirement of just about 25 W. What a fantastic feature. And how much would it cost them add in an ssd heatsink? All too early jump on graphics cards from Intel. And AMD won't get my money. So there is only one option left for me. Hate Nvidia's business practice, but they are the only option. At least for me. Nvidia rumored to launch RTX 4090 first, RTX 4080 and RTX 4070 to follow Will the RTX 4080 land in August? -

Not much you can do if they add disgusting code in the kernel. Remember you is forced to do volt mod on nowadays graphics cards(everything is fully locked down). Maybe 0,1% bother with that.- 165 replies

If the miners is gone and with hardened competition between Nvidia, AMD and now with Intel maybe the gamers can win in the disgusting game as well. It will be harder for Nvidia forwards, that’s for sure. -

Papusan replied to Mr. Fox's topic in Desktop Hardware
It will be easier for the gamers now when the miners is gone. And equal harder for Nvidia. Buy older gen cards will hit Nvidia hard. Maybe we will see a new way to castrate gaming performance on cards that isn’t the newest? Or maybe they will try sell in new tech as they did with RT? This is their only solution to stop the downwards spiral for profits. They even showed lower income forwards. People should buy more used items. Correct bro @jaybee83 ? 😀 -

So it is likely that Nvidia would save it for a "4090 Ti" refresh down the line. Waiting for the Ti just means it’s just below 6-10 months before a possible 5000 series release. Having the best from Nvidia’s graphics cards isn’t as before. And Nvidia isn’t finished with similar scams as they did with the 3080@castrated Vram. Even their cheaper SKUs get same treatment. The card is rated for a total graphics power (TGP) of 200 W, which is about 30 W higher than that of the RTX 3060. That catch here, though, is the 192-bit 8 GB of GDDR6X VRAM. We are not quite sure as to why the RTX 4060 is rumored to offer 4 GB less VRAM than the RTX 3060 https://www.notebookcheck.net/More-Nvidia-Lovelace-RTX-4090-RTX-4080-and-RTX-4070-specs-leak-RTX-4060-also-rears-its-head-but-with-4-GB-less-VRAM-than-RTX-3060.622558.0.html -

DuckDuckGo pleasing the Devil…. What is privacy worth bro @Ashtrix @Mr. Fox? In brief: DuckDuckGo portrays itself as a defender of user privacy through its search engine and browser. However, a security researcher has found the company has an agreement with Microsoft that attaches asterisks to that promise. Private DuckDuckGo browser still allows some Microsoft trackers- 165 replies

Their main focus is on maximum profits and market shares. And that’s where the Jokebook chips come in. Re-use same chips for desktops only make sense. For them. Not the power enthusiasts. 100% more baby cores for coming laptops is the only option they have to stay within the TDP target for laptops cooling. More P-cores would push all cores boost clock frequency down the drain. AMD will offer an 40% performance increase for 7000 series chips. And Alder lake can barely offer same performance as AMDs soon EOL chips from 2020. Raptor lake won’t be able to offer a 40% performance increase over Alder lake. And Intel will once again be pushed back to before AMD started with Ryzen chips. 1 steps forward and two steps backwards with those modern E-cores. Awful progress. People asked for more cores. And Intel delivered, LOOL More bling bling…. People can’t get enough…. Does a humidifier help? Or do you need more than one (for different rooms) due the extreme climate? You live in a dust and hot hell. I live in the oppsite climate. Loads of rain, wind, humid weather, Snow, cold (even in the summer) and the dreaded dark season that force you to eat D-vitamines, lots of fish to survive (no sun at all). And I as you. Hate it as hell.
