  1. You think they don't need protection? Oh'well. Some what old info but NO OS is secure or safe. NONE. And why you think you get updates from Apple? Only for more fancy stuff? Still think Macs can't get viruses? That outdated thinking puts you and your data at risk.

  3. This reminds me all about todays tech..... Spot on @ryan?
  4. When new is worse than the old. Is this what we call progress bro @ryan? Or does it just tell us that newer isn't always better than the old? Hmmm.... Why not put all your money in an console next time you buy something for your gaming needs? Because you can't have it all! An phone for calling and messages, an console for gaming and an desktop pc for your computing needs. Unisex ain't what I want. All this below reminds me about Ryzen gaming chips..... You can't have it all! Exactly as todays tech...... AMD's older Zen 4 gaming flagship pounds Zen 5 in new gaming benchmarks — Ryzen 7 7800X3D was up to 23% faster than Ryzen 9 9900X NEWS Ryzen 9 9900X disappoints in gaming: First benchmarks show lag behind 7800X3D HMMM. I'm always honest about tech @Mr. Fox AMD GOES ALSO ALL IN FOR CUTTING COSTS IN THE FUTURE. COMPACT CORES SAVE 25% die space and with less PCIe lanes you can reduce pins count and only need a cheaper smaller substrate. The goal isn't max performance. Its all about maximize profits. Sad, but as expected. Consumers don't deserve more. AMD developed the Zen 5 architecture and then customized it for a more compact implementation for its Zen 5c cores. This single architecture, deployed in two customizable core types, will be used for its desktop, mobile, and server processors and span both the 4nm and 3nm process nodes. https://www.tomshardware.com/pc-components/cpus/amd-dishes-more-zen-5-details-compact-core-is-25-smaller-than-the-normal-core-new-soc-architecture-disclosed
  5. Hmmmm. Why continue with same CEO? Money? Not even Linux is safe from some. An interesting sidenote pointed out by The Register is that CrowdStrike's current CEO, George Kurtz, was also CEO of McAFee during an infamous 2010 update that caused several PCs to be stuck in an endless boot loop. This likely makes George Kurtz the first CEO in history to preside over two major global PC outages caused by bad security software updates. CrowdStrike issues go beyond Windows: company's security software has reportedly been causing Linux kernel panics since at least April

  7. Windows 11 is a must nowadays. Can't be better than this. Windows 11 strikes again with annoying pop-up that can't be disabled It's enough that we have to deal with Microsoft's pop-ups. But when they can't be turned off? That's just unacceptable. 9. @Vasudev add this one one first page if you haven't done it before. Thanks. Not overhyped: Honeywell PTM7950 in lab test and a real game changer for graphics cards igorslab.de
  10. Impressive. Read my previous post about what thermal paste Nvidia's AIB partners use today for newest graphic cards. Can't even last a year before the paste is turned into useless. Igors lab said it was used cheapo trash from all AIB partners. They all go with the cheapest they can get for their very overpriced graphic cards. What do they save? 30-50 cents for every card? There is much better options out there but this will hurt their already big profits. Greed have no limits. 11. We usually think the same about all the tech world. From OS, drivers, firmware and hardware. So this is as expected. We are old farts bro Fox. It's called experience. And we all know newer doesnt always means better. https://wccftech.com/intel-official-response-14th-13th-gen-cpu-instability-elevated-operating-voltages-root-cause-microcode-patch-in-august/
  12. Yup. Old school tuning is still king. Modern ways is trash. Single core boost to become the clock speed king in single core benchmarks with all too high voltage is stupid. So stupid has to be the normal nowadays.
  13. Nice. A fix for people with almost new Cpu's. Hope you can win the silicon lottery a second time if your degraded cpu was one of its kind. Intel finally announces a solution for CPU crashing errors — claims elevated voltages are the root cause; patch coming by mid-August [Updated] The bug causes irreversible degradation of the impacted processors. We're told that the microcode patch will not repair processors already experiencing crashes, but it is expected to prevent issues on processors that aren't currently impacted by the issue. Intel advises all customers having issues to seek help from its customer support. Because the microcode update will not repair impacted processors, the company will continue to replace all impacted processors. Intel has pledged to grant RMAs to all impacted customers. https://www.tomshardware.com/pc-components/cpus/intel-finally-announces-a-solution-for-cpu-crashing-errors-claims-elevated-voltages-are-the-root-cause-fix-coming-by-mid-august

  15. Nope. The new one is Raptor lake. And probably chips that have E-cores fused of. Aka defective chips. Brand it i9 because of higher boost clock and TDP but with same amount cores is watering down the SKU name.
  16. I would be disappointed if all I got was 40K. But with all different new settings from MB vendors to stop Crashes maybe thats right. My tests is done without new screw ups and with XMP disabled. See also the results from Techpowerup in my old post.
  17. Hmmm. 30C here in Canary in the late evening with Kalima (sand in the air from Sahara). Very difficult to breathe. Even my wife who handle all type heat struggle to breathe now. And she love the sun and can sit outside the whole day. Have been up to 42C and with High humidity. What is 100C compared to this? The bungalow puke out 30l water from the AC and I feel messed up. No water around the sun. So it has to be a better place than here🫠
  18. Just deal in Tjm at 115C and there you go😆 Dell's head thermal engineer say 100C is just fine, HaHa And Meteor lake is good for 110C so probably 115C in the head of Dell's thermal engineering team.
  19. Is today? Have been pure trash since 2013. If not longer ago. Had only one Alienware. And thats a laptop. Bought it in 2013. 2 or was it 3 dead boards. But it still work today. My youngest son use it sometimes when he is not on his desktop I built a couple of years ago. There is no more laptop for me. Too small screen and you can only swap out mem and storage. What a waste. I have with me an small 14" laptop my wife used when she was on school. But have never used it here in Canary vacation. I didn't bother. I just use the Android trashphone. Offer about same experience.
  20. My older son checked out Dell Alienware Sales page on Dell today. There is no more mem options than 5200 and below. Would be nice if some of you could check out different pc options at Dell/other big partners and see if there is something into this. Damn nice if Intel have a serious problems with their cpus paired with 5600 mem kit and above. We have already the SA bug. Well see if the problem is mem speed related. Hmmm. Here's another one. Pay premium but you dont get what to expect... Nice. Wallossek found that this problem isn't specific to a limited number of partners. Most, if not all, of Nvidia's partners seemingly use the same thermal paste supplier. The company supplies a cheap thermal paste to Nvidia partners, delivering superb day-one performance but deteriorating much faster than standard thermal paste. https://www.tomshardware.com/pc-components/gpus/nvidia-gpu-partners-reportedly-cheap-out-on-thermal-paste-cheap-paste-allegedly-degrades-in-a-few-months-causing-over-100oc-hotspot-temperatures Newer is always better.... LOOL If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” https://www.overclock.net/posts/29347457/
  21. So lower power consumption but with higher thermal threshold. Hmm. Thats a new way to eak out performance. Almost as in older days. Or how Dell prefer running Cpu's to cut costs on the cooling/and at same time reducing the thickness on their trash books. +100C Cpu temps is the normal from DELL. Future Intel processors Allowed to Run even Hotter - TJMax to 105°C Published Yesterday by Hilbert Hagedoorn 18 Intel's upcoming Arrow Lake and Panther Lake CPUs will feature a maximum temperature limit (TJMax) of up to 105°C, surpassing the 100°C limit of the previous Raptor Lake series. This adjustment marks a significant change in Intel's approach to thermal management for its processors. See also.... Currently, Meteor Lake CPUs already display these temperature limits and, sometimes, even go a little higher. This is notably the case of the Core Ultra 5 115U which displays 110°C. Intel laptop CPUs are crashing, too, as the company remains silent Arrow Lake might be safe, as it will rely on an all-new LGA 1851 socket. https://wccftech.com/intel-says-14th-13th-gen-laptops-cpus-not-affected-by-same-instability-issues-as-desktop-chips/
  22. Fantastic scaling. Ryzen 9 9950X starts hitting a wall beyond the 160W limit, where adding additional power starts to achieve diminishing returns. For example, the jump from 120W to 160W represents a 16% performance improvement, but adding even more power, from 160W to 200W, yields a measly 5% improvement. This trend continues to 9999W, where more power only results in minor performance improvements. https://www.tomshardware.com/pc-components/cpus/amd-flagship-zen-5-desktop-cpu-impresses-in-new-rendering-benchmarks And fantastic for those that still clinge on older days. Maybe we soon will see 1 core processors being the new must have... https://videocardz.com/newz/amd-ryzen-ai-9-hx-370-strix-point-apu-breaks-2k-points-cinebench-r23-single-core-test
  23. Fantastic. Yup, AMD know they could not fully cripple own flagship. They would be killed if so by own fans. But why do it for their lower SKUs if this is so damn important? Is less more? Why not do the same for this SKU? Because they wanted to cater to performance enthusiasts as the old fart @Mr. Fox and old @Papusan ? Im sick of all this. AMD should do the same for xx50X as well? @Rage Setready to puke? Or is as you the ssd jokeys drooling about 2*5th gen ssd more than enough to say halleluja? Puke evening. Or "oppkast kveld" in Norwegian. Edit "kveld" is evening in Norwegian . Here's what important. Higher TOPS. Why ask for more? Will higher TOPS make your day better? More or Higher is better. Yup, todays 4 letters has to be... P-U-K-E. Kveld(Google it). All should learn something every day. Hope you learned something br @ryan. Norwegian language (viking language) is sometimes harsh/hard to understand. Im good at both English and Norwegian. You read, and you learn. Im sure Fox learn from his wonderful wife. You need to be an viking to understand this rant. But Im 200% sure @Rage Set15000 km away from Norway see where I go. The world i so small. And trash i so close. Maybe you all have learned something today. I learn everyday. That s better than nothing. End of this rant. But more to come😁 https://videocardz.com/newz/hps-upcoming-laptop-to-feature-ryzen-ai-300-processor-with-55-tops-npu-surpassing-hx-370-sku-in-speed
