Hmmm. Remember Lightning was their flagship. Same is Matrix for Asus. Why you think MSI put on the Lightning logo? Btw. You never know what Nvidia have done with 5000 series. And it takes time to find new ways if they lock you out with signing keys in firmware. But this below would be a nice try for hackers if nvidia lock you out... More surprising to know that DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation could become compatible with graphics cards such as the RTX 40, RTX 30, RTX 20 or even the GPU of the Nintendo Switch 2 due to the fact that the use of hardware has been replaced by an AI model to generate frames . DLSS 4 Multi Frame Generation: RTX 40, 30 and 20 users may try to force its use And if this is correct, I can see why AMD closed their lips regarding next gen Radeon cards. And no-one should trust AMDs 'Chief Gaming Architect' F. Azor AMD Radeon RX 9070 shows off its performance in COD: it performs like the Radeon RX 7800 XT -

No need for AMD to implement the new modern power connectors for in-house cards. Their AIB parners will do it freely and have more than enough of the tiny power connectors for nvidia graphics cards. So why not weld them on AMD graphics cards? of course they willdo. Ashrock won't be the only one. ASROCK adopts 12V-2ร6 power connector on Radeon RX 9070 XT graphics card Edit. Yup. You can't power up newer AMD cards with 8-pins if this is what you buy from the new modern era ... See this fantastic design and engineering solutions by MSI @Mr. Fox MPG A1250GS that offers 1,250W of power. Branded with MSI Performance gaming. Great idea? Twin 12V-2x6 connectors but barely enough 8-pins for the board and the processor. Sad nvidia didn't go further with the design. But modern people want smal cute graphics cards that fits in their tiny small modern pc chassis filled with aRGB and toy figures, sooo dead before arrival. Thermal testing showed the prototype performed signicantly better than the ocial Founders Edition design. -

Ir seems Asus prefer not to change the way the 12+4 pin connector is soldered on top of the PCB. Why? And what do you gain from this? I tell you... Slightly easier to remove the connector from the card because the hook is on top. Asus is the only one that do it this way. And they are also alone on top with melted connectors. Jup, even with the refreshed 12V-2x6. Hmmm. Even Gigabyte also offer 5000 series Nvidia cards for Meltgate Part 2 now. They do as Asus and solder the 12V-2x6 connector uppside down. Aka the opposite from previous gen. Yup, the gamers really need help with the tiny Nvidia power connector. What brand will be the next with stupid engineering? Looking forwards to Meltgate Part 2 as Nvidia increased the TDP for 5090๐ https://www.gigabyte.com/Graphics-Card/GV-N5090GAMING-OC-32GD/gallery#gallery -

I think techspot's article about Blackwell is quite good. One of the better. Many of the points above is well discussed. They talk about all SKUs and what is bad and what people won't know. Nvidia launches RTX 50 Blackwell GPUs: From the $2,000 RTX 5090 to the $549 RTX 5070 Here's one of the unknown... The other issue is using multi-frame rendering to hack our way to high-frame-rate gaming. Nvidia showed a demo where, without DLSS 4, a game was running at 30 FPS, but then over 240 FPS with DLSS 4 enabled. Now, of course, not even DLSS upscaling was enabled in the 30 FPS example, but we really don't want to see any situations where generating 3 frames is used to get a 30 FPS game up to 120 FPS โ that would be absolutely horrific in terms of input latency. Edit. -

Blackwell architecture innovations and DLSS 4 mean the GeForce RTX 5090 GPU outperforms the GeForce RTX 4090 GPU by up to 2x. Then you have this.... NVIDIA DLSS 4 Boosts Performance by Up to 8x. By Nvidia NVIDIA Blackwell GeForce RTX 50 Series Opens New .. Fake frame features that can't be port to previous gen GPU's is an fantastic idea. Also AMD want this now. When will we see fake performance uplift from processors. Etc see an boost from Cinebench with 8x ? Hmmm. Food for thoughts๐ Next Generation of GeForce RTX GPUs Deliver Stunning Visual Realism and 2x Performance Increase, Made Possible by AI, Neural Shaders and DLSS 4 Nvidia showed that one scene could be rendered at 27 frames per second with the DLSS turned off, with a 71 millisecond PC latency. DLSS 2 can do that scene with its super resolution tech at 71 FPS and PC latency of 34 milliseconds. DLSS 3.5 can do the scene at 140 FPS and 33 milliseconds. But DLSS 4 comes in at a whopping 247 FPS and 34 milliseconds. DLSS 4 is more than eight times better performance than systems that arenโt using AI for the predictive processing. I wonder how much gain 5000 series will give in pure rasterization performance over 4000 series cards. There is no major node changes for Blackwell. -

Thanks. . Edit. Half the cores for 5080 will match the price for 5090 who have more vram. There is no competiton so the price seems quite correct. 5090 is bad news for the sales of Intel Core Ultra chips. The X3D chips from AMD will fly out from the shelves. -

It see Nvidia have made a place for an possible 5080Ti. $1500 for an failed 5090 die after they have enough chips to sell? And as expected... Nvidia want to compete in mid end with the 5070. Isn't 5080 half the die of 5090 ? -

Microsoft disguises Bing as Google to fool inattentive searchers If you can't beat Google, trick your users into thinking that they're using Google. That seems to be Microsoft's sneaky new approach to Bing search. Yep, Microsoft is a disgusting company. You just can't trust them. I will never even use anything from M$ for browsing/search on internet. Not in hell. I wonder what would happen if a smaller company have done the same. @Mr. Fox +++

Remember U.S Government is after Nvidia now due improved AI performance for China. They need to improve ways to stop hacking/cross-flashing of firmware due risk of ban. We pc enthusiasts/consumers have to pay the price for all this. -

Sorry bruh. Better with the black box with Ice-cream?๐ The card looks as mint condition. The weight topped out at 1.7 Kg. 575W only? 4090 was only 450W default but you could get cards with 666W power limits as the HOF. I'm sure you'll get use of your 675W via external cable and pcie connector๐ I just hope nvidia this time don't stop people from cross-flashing bios between the different AIB cards. They wasn't happy you could flash Galax firmware on their FE cards with custom software. We'll see. Nvidia could improve ways to lock you out from tampering with your new cards. They are a software company now as you should know. -

Nvidia needed to boost the power consumption with 125W. I wonder how much the performance would sink with lower 450W TDP as for today's 4090's. The increased TDP is probably needed because there is not a major change on the node for 5000 series cards. Edit. Blackwell for data centers is fabricated using a custom 5nm-grade (4NP) node from TSMC, which is said to be an enhanced version of 4N seen on Ada Lovelace and not a full-fledged node jump. This likely explains why Nvidia is pushing power limits to extract every last drop of performance. Hmm. Papuan's delayed Christmas present to himself๐ Say hello to MSI GTX 1080 Ti Lightning Z. In pristine condition, both for the card and the box. And the card is clean and nice. Never tampered with and still with the avoid sticker on the screw. Damn nice. I also got the orginal invoice from the seller. The owner paid $900 in 2017 for this beauty. If I include the price hike since 2017 which is 22.81 percent then the card would cost around 1100 USD in Norway with todays money. Yep, half the price vs custom AIB 4090 flagship. But remember in the old days the price premium for the flagship models was mostly below or around $100. Etc a 4090 Strix have several hundreds in premium above MSRP cards nowadays. Sad direction, indeed. MSI offered Lightning cards in 3 versions. Vanilla version. Lighning X and then the flagship Lightning Z. The box is the same for all 3 SKUs (and the 3 cards is exactly same) but you can differenciate the different cards with the small sticker on the box and on the card. The tp model (Z) was produced in limited quantity. Only 3000 cards made. -

Probably stupidity. I really hope the younger one's is much smarter than what Suckerman think. Yet another stupid way to use AI. The decline of social media is coming: Meta wants to fill it with AI bots to simulate people Meta wants to fill social media with bots to attract a younger audience interested in AI. Meta's goal with this service of making bots that pretend to be users is to attract the attention of a younger audience , as they are very interested in AI.
