I thought these would last at least a day before selling out. Paper launch? -

The egg was sold out in minutes. What a joke. AMD release 1000 units only? -

Here is AMD's site, I am in line .....Gawd Ok, I am already over it....This is f...ing stupid. I will either get a previous gen, or stick with what I have. Is this really what its like trying to buy a video card now? Hell those things used to be released, and would never have a problem getting one on the launch day. STOOOOOPID -

I am in the US....I remember getting the 1080TI FTW by constantly checking EVGA's site. They were releasing them as they made them. Ridiculous amount of time spent hitting f5. This was when cryptodicks bought everything up. I have checked all the sites that I visit for hardware, and best buy is the only place that even has them listed (sold out). I am assuming there is a specific time set to release them, as I checked just after midnight my local time, around 3am, and 6 am, with no listing up yet. -

Think there will be any chance of getting an XTX at msrp? Or is that wishful thinking? The XT should have been priced ~$200 less than the XTX. 4080's are going for ~$400 more. -

Apparently MS has lengthened ESU on windows 7 for another 3 years. Too bad they have strong armed OEM's into dropping driver support. I really dislike microsoft. I wish I could just switch to linux also. Its been a few years since Ive researched any distro's. https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/bypass-windows-7-extended-security-updates-eligibility.80606/page-323#post-1745284 -

Thats a huge difference, I wonder if AMD will supply Windows 7 drivers? This is a little scary though! https://www.techspot.com/news/96900-amazon-refused-refund-customer-who-received-putty-filled.html -

Is it me, or is it hard to see any discernable difference in image quality? Also, why is the cpu usage so high in the 4090? TBH, if the FPS werent displayed, I couldnt tell the difference. Also, why is 24gb needed on a video card? -

Thanks...it was a nice looking rig. This is what it looked like, just before selling it. Had the Bykski water block on the Radeon VII. ....and now I see how cheesy the led light strips looked.. I remember buying cold cathodes back in the day for some lighting though. I like to have a little bling. Regardless, it is a selling point, and can look nice if minimally done. Im kind of an eye candy guy. Thats why I love Windows Vista, and Seven. -

So, I have my components in the cart for purchase, I am just being a tightass and waiting to see if there will be any Christmas sales. I wasnt going to buy a video card, but have a RX 6800 @ $500 saved. That seemed like a pretty good deal. Edit: Didnt realize the RX 7xxx were dropping on the 16th? That should drop the upper 6xxx card down in price? At least thats what used to happen 3 years ago when I last built...lmao. On a side note, I see the Egg (via Micron tech store) has the 3 year old Radeon VII for a measly $2450. When I bought it, I think it was $1200. Are video cards like an investment now? Do they go up in price the older they get...:) -

Haha, I actually still have it collecting dust in the storage shed out back. Ive tried to sell that behemoth a couple times, and tried to give it away too 😉 I cannot reply in that thread, there must be a post count minimum. If you reply to him tell him its a DG-86, -

I will use them, but only as a credit card processor. I will not have an account with them, and transfer funds to and from any business or person. Thanks for the video, After some research it seems that the cooler is actually an asetek built for EVGA? ahh nevermind, he explains that in the video. -

I closed my Paypal account after they "mistakenly" put in their terms of service, that they reserve the right to fine you if they found that you were spreading "misinformation". They can go suck the south end of a northbound bovine, as far as I am concerned. WTF happened to video card prices? Holy Jebus!!! I am not getting a new one with my build at those prices...Stupid how much hardware has increased in the short time I was away. Ive just about gathered everything, and decided to go with an all in one cooler. Less of a headache. The reviews seem pretty solid at the egg. Has anyone read/heard anything about the EVGA CLCx? https://www.newegg.com/evga-liquid-cooling-system-clx-280/p/N82E16835288018?Item=N82E16835288018 -

Ive been away from the desktop scene for a bit. I figured that everything was going UEFI or nothing, just as most notebooks have. I have been able to install Windows 7 on my HP probook in pure Uefi mode, but windows 7 call for a legacy video driver at first boot makes it difficult. Ive tried Fastboot, UEFI Seven, etc. I am glad to see csm is still supported with aftermarket hardware. -

AM4 had basically 5 cpu generations. Those that complain about that need to switch to Intel, where every refresh is a socket change. -

Does your board have a csm option in the bios? It doesnt really matter, as I can install Windows 7 in pure UEFI, if I want. Just curious though. -

Going to get the MSI B650 Mortar. X670 Board prices are stupid. It will be pretty much what canonkong on the WinRaid forums has tested for Windows 7. I can barely stomach Windows 10 LTSC 21H2, and will not install Windows 11 garbage. See screenshot above. Scratch that mortar board, its only a Micro atx, I will be getting the pro version -

Well crap....Ive found the 7950 at AMD Direct, but its $574. Is it worth the extra 100 bones to get it, or should I just grab the 7900? I want to do some benching, but not sure which would be more future proof... I know, I hate being that guy that cant make up his mind, but it might be another 3 years before I do this again. Going to dual boot again, thanks to canonkong on winRaid forums. Windows 7 is just so damn nice.
