  1. The logic is simple. We ALL know every GPU price is inflated, right? Even the 4090 is over priced. Adjusting for inflation, and all the other BS, the card should be around ~$1500. I am old enough to remember everyone here suggesting that no one buy any gpu at those grossly inflated prices, and that paying those prices was idiotic. Paying two thousand dollars for a 4090 was only condoning Nigreedia's malfeasance. But I digress, if you have to have it, then get it!, because I GET IT! I know how the hardware bug affects us all, but I will never spend that amount of money on a GPU. My 1080Ti, and Radeon VII were expensive enough three years ago.
  2. That's some seriously flawed logic. Just because a gpu happens to be the best makes it ok to be bent over? 2k just to have bragging rights on the bot? Oh, wait. ..can't have that either, haha. We wonder why prices for gpu's are so high? It's exactly from that type of thinking. Smh I won't pay for an AMD card that's $600 over priced either, so your argument fails on that as well.
  3. Only 2K....hahaha. No effing way would I pay that kind of cabbage for a GPU. Thats just plain silly.
  4. This is becoming a huge clusterfart! I love the user calling out the elitist scum and his hypocrisy! 🤙
  5. Watched the video and it says not to use write sppt, it does nothing now anyway when clicked. Save mpt file, then use Red bios editor and open stock Navi bios, then transfer saved mpt. I cannot get that far though.
  6. hmmm, doing something wrong. RBE says not supported when trying to load the navi21 rom.
  7. I remember back in the ATI days flashing vbios on my 3850's to make them 3870's. Can we say flash a new vbios from a sapphire nitro to a pulse? that would raise the default clocks a bit. I have not done any vbios stuff in a long time. I did see your screen of your memory OC, and was wondering how it was so high, thought maybe it was afterburner. Wattman limits it to 2150mhz or something/
  8. No, just using wattman. What is MorePowerTool? NVM Vbios editor....google
  9. Curious as to how this WD Black compares to other drives. I looked up my samsung 970 evo, and the WD smokes it. How does this compare to yours?
  10. I think my little PCIE Patriot scorch 128gb ssd that has windows 10 on it, is giving up the ghost. ChkDisk says its fixing errors, but I can run it back to back to back, and its the same errors. What are you guys using for Data drives? SSD's or HDD's? I purchased a 6tb seagate HDD for this build, but I am regretting that, because the wind up time during post is really annoying. It sounds like two monkeys doing you know what to a football. I already have a new 1tb WD Black NVME in cart at $70 to replace the little scorch.
  11. Getting hacked or having viruses is probably 98% user error, and probably was avoidable. I have been into PC tech for over 25 years, and never been hacked, and only had a handful of small viruses, which were all my fault. I either opened or downloaded something I shouldnt have by visiting a nefarious site.
  12. I have modded ISO's that have windows update, and defender purposely disabled...I wont run any of their garbage.
  13. @ryandownload the free Macrium software, and make an image of your OS, that way when/if something happens it only takes 3 minutes to get your system back up and running. Now you can do reg tweaks to your hearts desire, and not fret about screwing your system up/ Also ask @Mr. Fox@Papusan@Rage Set @electrosoftand others if they run antivirus software, or windows defender? I bet most if not all do not run that garbage, as do I.
  14. I can just about guarantee you could get improvements like this if you weren't constrained in a laptop, with mobile hardware. I bet that you are throttled because of heat. It is very difficult to make any gains benchmarking with hardware that is only meant to perform at a certain level before being bottlenecked/throttled.
  15. Got a chance to play with the 6800xt a little....improved by 800+ points. Saw brother @Rage Setimpressive graphics score two or three spots above me @59K 🤘 Getting 600mhz OC on that water cooled beast.
  16. ...........and another rig will lose Windows 7🤣. I might as well get a 7900xtx
  17. I remember being on IRC winbeta downloading pirate betas of XP. Loved those days. @Mr. FoxAMD's integrated driver, and wifi does not have a windows 7 driver either. I just disable them, and I installed an Intel 7265 PCIE dual band card for 7. But you are correct in that Windows 7 is dying, and there is nothing we can do about it. Just as the early days of Android being a blast to customize, and hack. Now those days are gone as well. It seems that anything anyone enjoys is taken away, and replaced with crap (Ie Windows 8, 8.1, 10, 11). I have still yet to try 11, as nothing about it seems to compel me to.
  18. But that means no more Windows 7 for brother @Mr. Fox Unless you have found a working driver for it?
  19. Put it up for sale in the marketplace, then build yourself a dream desktop. Or close as you can with whatever budget you set. I have an HP Probook/turdbook. Its great for what it is, but it is what it is, and it wont be anything beyond that. I have benched it for a few points on the bot, but never tried to overclock it.
  20. If you're in your own room, bundle up, close the door, and bring an electric fan in with you. I open the side panel up and let the fan blow directly at my components. If I had more time, I would be doing just that. It's been bitter cold here in Idaho this week, with temps in the single digits Fahrenheit at night. Stanley, Idaho 3 hours from here had a windchill factor of -45f this morning. 🥶
  21. Ive been impressed with the WD Black I purchased. I think it was $60 for the 500gb, and in crystal mark testing, it smokes the 970 evo I had in my last build. (probably samsung chips 🙂 )
