Yes, unfortunately that's how I see this thing, so from a distance and I didn't have it in my hands. They don't hold out much hope. I don't think I'll buy it knowing that, because I'd just be stuck with it! I don't understand why the person who designed and manufactured this didn't think of the right connection? That would have been very important! 😢

I would be interested in the pipe connection that connects to the laptop water heatsink. Looking at it, it's just a plain connector (pipe), which is not special looking at the picture. Opinion? I have an original spare complete cooler for the X170 machine and both (CPU and GPU parts) are polished. CPU was delideled a year ago. I use a washer under the screw, so the surface is not worn by the spring part of the screw. I also received special screws from a laptop service friend. (I have not used it yet - the original screw is still in use) I also have the original screws (full set) because the German XMG/Schenker was the source of purchase. (poliamid screw washer) and full screw set to X170 (series) special screw I'm really thinking about getting this kind of water heatsink and I would add a controller (pump, radiator, fan, etc.) to it, but I'm a little afraid that it would just be a waste of money... 😒😔

I would be interested in the "water pump kit" (?) What does it look like? Is it simple, or is it difficult to purchase, does it have to be built separately, or is it also compact?

Yes, stable! TimeSpy is one of those "GPU" tests that throws you out if there is a lot of OC.

I use both Win10 Pro and Win11 Pro systems and Obsidian FAN Control is used. (along with other Obsidian programs) Sometimes it's the Win Update that interferes, or the lack of nV Driver Update (then it doesn't show the GPU temperature)

If MXM / PCIe x16 is used, the X170 heatsink GPU part would have to be converted and a cutout would also have to be made on the back panel. 😀

I don't know, I couldn't find a test for it, but it might be slightly better than the TB3 port... good question.😊 I tested it in detail last fall. I also have a TimeSpy Extreme test, just need to find it. All tests were performed under identical conditions. 3D FS Ultra: 2080S 3090 SP 4K Optimized: 2080S 3090 SP 8K Optimized: 2080S 3090 I have a friend who uses a desktop VGA connected to the MXM port and it can be fully used, just like the desktop card (100%), it just needs an external power supply and the MXM conversion unit. He has a Clevo P751TM1 machine. There is no image on the laptop's own display, only using an external monitor. P751TM1 spec: i9-9900k , 64GB RAM (DDR4-2666MHz) , nV GeForce PNY RTX 3080 Ti (desktop 350W) How much is Direct-Die worth for an X170 machine? 🙄 i9 was delideled for me. It runs quite well if it had better cooling.

I did a detailed test and I have to say, the eGPU is not worth it, because the loss of PCIe speed (even though the card is 4.0 x16) is huge compared to the speed of the MXM port! RTX 3090 Aorus Gaming BOX that I tried and under 4K/8K (tests) there was a really noticeable difference in favor of the 3090! 2080 Super (MXM) 3090 eGPU (ThunderBolt 3)

Can this heatsink also be used with air drive? So if I don't have a water system for it yet, can it still be used as an air cooler? (is it still full value or completely useless?)

I only have a Prema BIOS, which is my "dream" (but I think it will remain so)😏 The avatar is the protagonist of the game Carmageddon (1997) (MaxDamage) 😛😄 I will look at dSanke Unlocker, but at the moment my computer is fine as it is, Obsidian (Full) works properly.

Yes, I have this problem too! Prema has closed herself off from the outside world from all sides, she cannot be reached. Prema BIOS for my X170SM-G would be great! This will remain just a dream...I contacted (equally) Clevo (Taiwan) and many (World) representatives and no one could help, the policy of the Clevo store they referred to...😒🙄

I was thinking about getting a more serious (H2O) heatsink, because I have an i9 processor and it would be good to use it at 5GHz (it would work without a problem now, only the factory cooling "340W" is not enough) and the Prema or dSanke BIOS is not available... I would pay for it in vain I can't get it. I also wrote to Clevo (TW) and they didn't write much good about it.... At my own risk, at my own expense, why can't I buy or get it? X170 is no longer under warranty. PCS UK promised me that if the warranty expired, I could have Prema BIOS installed on my machine at my own risk (at my own expense) and when the warranty expired, they stopped doing it all. Joke! I would appreciate it if anyone could help! 😉

For me (many system updates), Obsidian (Full Licence) does not run very well, and although it is written on their website that they are focusing on something else, the software can be bought and downloaded... there is no Support, there is no response. A full program update would be recommended, because it is not recommended to buy! It used to work perfectly! A PremaBIOS for my machine would be nice! If anyone could help me with this, I would appreciate it! /Warranty expired/ Any update appears but not installed yet (MS or nV Display update) then Obsidian "PC FAN Control" GPU FAN is "Disabled" and after the update it will be good again... In "Control Station" (also Obsidian), the multipliers are set, then applied, but jumps back to the factory settings. (there was no problem with this before either) Drivers and everything properly installed, configured and set. The thing is quite suspicious of incompatibility! Instead of this, a PremaBIOS would be the best!

Hi, I'm new here, thought I'd say thank you! I also have a Clevo machine (PCS UK) which is X170SM-G and PremaBIOS, which is impossible to get... I talked to whoever I could and there is no chance of getting it (this is not possible from the manufacturer's side either...) Clevo itself did not allow it either. Unfortunately! 🙄
