It would never retain the lighting settings and you had to run the software each and every time. I wrote a little script to run it on boot up and terminate but then it started having the memory just switch/turn off during normal use and wouldn't stay consistent unless the software was running. Many just throw it in the drawer once new cards is out. Money is not a problem for many. Buy new and then move on. They don't even bother try sell a 1 or two years old card on the used market. We often see used cards pop up on the used market that have lived a long life in the drawer before they try sell it for almost nothing. They add pure bloat nonsense. Bro I bought Hyper X Alloy Origins, it has full metal AL chassis with no plastic in sight ultimate build quality with ZERO flex, removable USB C cable, fantastic keys using Cherry MX Red linear, on top a nice RGB light PLUS a software which allows to store the 3 profiles of your choice on the keyboard (this feature is not there on any Corsair, Razer, Steelseries or any company you need their bloat running). Not even those custom KBs have such features. So you do not need any damn junk RGB software running on your machine. Well they had to screw it up. The damn software itself is UWP trash. Yep pure JUNK. And future is grim because garbage HP bought out HyperX brand. RIP. Also I expect all new AIOs and new software will start this UWP soon. ASUS GarbageCrate is UWP, AWCC Is UWP, Nvidia CP is now UWP, AMD drivers will soon be UWP. Everything will become UWP only. Also Intel trash is all UWP and their new GPU will also be on UWP. Good that Arctic LFII 420mm AIO is not having any reliance on software, earlier that EVGA CLC also I skipped because of the stupid software requirement. I do not like that at all being shackled to a damn Windows Software for basic needs. Also I got the Apex Z590 brand new board from Newegg sadly it was having paint job qc issue on the damn LGA1200 backplate on the motherboard, like it has rough surface and a possible rusting (?)...a mess of QC by ASUS plus I also discovered one thing, Apex boards get them when they are released. ASUS makes them in less quantities, I got another one from Microcenter by driving an hour and guess what ? The screws look like they have been removed once I can see the wear marks. That box is brand new and it's even having new manuf date than the first one (you cannot check this on box, need to check S/N for ASUS warranty check to know that). So there's only one possibility it's an RMA Refurbished one that ASUS is selling Brand New. I suspect many brands do this. Also congrats on the fantastic beast build, 1000D + SP92 chip I hope you enjoy benching the hell out of it...sadly the entire DDR5 is like snake oil as said by @Mr. Fox. Anyways I would love to see you do a custom loop down the line, many folks here esp moved away from NBs to Desktops and you were the last one of them who was still on DTR I think that feeling alone of having no BS restrictions itself is a big one, at-least we all can worry less about the Dead rotten market of Notebook junk BGA rubbish tech 🙂 1 1 Helios (WIP) i9 10900K // Trident Z Royal C16 4000MHz B-Die 32GB // ASUS Maximus XIII APEX // Noctua DH15 Chromax // RTX3090Ti FE // Alienware 360Hz G-Sync Ultimate IPS FHD // Seasonic Prime TX 1000 Titanium // Fractal Meshify 2XL Ethereal Ranger Alienware 17 R1 // i7 4710MQ // 16GB DDR3L 2133MHz // 980M 860M loaner // Windows 8.

This is what happens when manufacturers confuse gamer kids with performance PC enthusiasts. They are as different as night and day. While it is possible to be both an avid gamer and a performance PC enthusiast, I think it is generally more common that the latter is both rather than the former. Gamers tend to focus on form more than function, and that shows in the mediocre specs found in the majority of the prebuilt "gaming desktops" and "gaming laptops" that many of us would view as pathetic novelty products that we would never waste money on. 1 Wraith // Z790 Apex | 14900KS | 4090 Suprim X+Byksi Block | 48GB DDR5-8600 | Toughpower GF3 1650W | MO-RA3 360 | Hailea HC-500A || O11D XL EVO Banshee // X870E Carbon | 9950X | 4090 Gaming OC+Alphacool Block | 32GB DDR5-8200 | RM1200x SHIFT | XT45 1080 Nova || Antec C8 Spectre // Z790i Edge | 13900KS | 3090 Ti FTW3 | 32GB DDR5-8200 | RM1000e | EK Nucleus CR360 Direct Die || Prime A21 Half-Breed // Dell Precision 7720 | BGA CPU Filth+MXM Quadro P5000 | 4K Display | Sub-$500 Grade A Refurb | Nothing to Write Home About Mr. Fox YouTube Channel | Mr. Fox @ HWBOT The average response time for a 911 call is 10 minutes. Yep. In fact, there is even a special uninstall tool that is needed to remove it that often requires you to run it, reboot and run it again. Unfortunately, they also intertwined Aura software into it and you can no longer install Aura RGB as a standalone utility that you run only on-demand. It is one of the most unforgivable sins that ASUSTeK has committed in the past few years that shows how idiotic and out of touch they have become. It is worse than the control center garbage that is common on laptops. It is like a virus. They no longer support the standalone Aura utility and I have found that the most recent (now unsupported) version of Aura will not even function on newer versions of Windows 10. It will still work flawlessly on Windows 7 and LTSC 2019, but will not launch on 20H2 or newer. (I have not tried it on any W10 versions between 1809 and 20H2.) https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/14Utilities/Armoury_Crate_Uninstall_Tool.zip Here is a good comparison to illustrate. Papusan
Tried a bit with the G.Skill ram. All stock voltage. Tested with 6666-32-36-36-76 T2 (Trefi at 65535) and got my very first BSOD😀 The below one with 6666-32-37-37-86 T2 (Trefi at 65535) and stock voltage. https://hwbot.org/submission/4925102_papusan_aida64___memory_read_ddr5_sdram_107820_points Edit. My son saw the latency for DDR5. And he didn't like what he saw. he is an happy camper with DDR4. Not much to gain with DDR5. https://hwbot.org/submission/4925140_papusan_wprime___1024m_core_i9_12900k_38sec_678ms https://hwbot.org/submission/4925152_papusan_cinebench___r11.5_core_i9_12900k_52.82_cb?recalculate=true https://hwbot.org/submission/4925127_papusan_cinebench___r20_core_i9_12900k_11516_cb?recalculate=true 5 1 "The Killer" ASUS ROG Z790 Apex Encore | 14900KS | 4090 HOF + 20 other graphics cards | 32GB DDR5 | Be Quiet! Look at this beauty. You can fry egg and bacon on these 480's😀 I don't need any kitchen oven, HaHa My favorite GPU design 😍 I had two in SLI and then tried a third one back in the day.
