Wow, that is totally cray-cray. So, pay them an annual membership fee of $200 for the privilege of buying a GPU, if you need one. That's a creative way of scalping... I'll give them credit for creativity.

Yeah I figured I'd queue up as always and never score the elusive FE 3080 but then that popped up on screen. I checked all the other cards and it is for all of Nvidia 3000 series cards down to the lowly 3050.

And it is now tied to it like Newegg bundles. Non-refundable unless you also return the items bought under the exclusive window within the return period. Like Newegg, they learned from the early adopters returning pieces of the combo when they had the "exclusive access" BS back in October with PS5 sales.

I guess the upside is you only get shanked once and then you don't have to worry about confronting "combo" deals on the regular like Newegg. For Newegg, I occasionally find something of value to select. Today it was a SFF 3050 for 250. A few weeks ago I won an EVGA 3060ti @ retail plus an EVGA 650w gold PSU that happen to be on sale (Normally $150, $100 on site normally so during the shuffle so that was the price paid) so that wasn't too bad considering I actually needed a fully modular ~600-700w PSU anyhow.

I'm putting the finishing touches on a secondary system to go along with this: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B095TVWL6M/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 a Dell 25" 240hz 1080p display on my other desk so my daughter and I can play WoW real time in the same room and she will get a chance to experience WoW full ultra on a much larger display than her laptop. 1080p paired with an M2000M  Level 4/10 graphics settings on a 17.3" stock display will pale in comparison to a 3060ti on the Dell 25" 240hz gaming display with full KB/M. I also have a spare set of gaming cans with 7.1 which should really bring it home.

We also want to give FF a try too since it seems to be all the rage now.

They make ready for next gen HW. Less scalpers and miners means less profits. Whats better than add in a yearly fee/tax? A guaranteed income.

I applaud Best Buy for waiting this long to take advantage of market conditions with their GPU sales but even they found a way to have their cake and eat it too.

Suffice it to say I saw that and clicked right out. I have no desire to sign up for their tech support $200+tax BS.

I did watch a stock watch stream and saw people absolutely losing their minds over it. "I'm gonna sue! This is against our constitutional rights!"

Errr...ok.....

I really love the idea of reaping all those points with a state of the art core system and swapping in all types of cards of all types while also pressing CPU performance too!

This whole eBay chiller transaction is becoming a nightmare. The seller initiated the refund and I have to return it, however he is supposed to supply a return label. I haven't heard anything from him since Jan 29th. I call eBay and they said the refund was canceled and the seller didn't provide a return label. On the order details page, I am supposed to ship this chiller back by March 1st. I explain that to the agent. She tells me to ignore that. Upon further inspection, the return was canceled due to a technical issue and that she will have to issue a refund manually. WTF? The manually refund will take 3 to 7 business days. She also said to keep the chiller because the seller voluntarily refunded me.

It appears like I have to go through AMEX to solve this. If I didn't call eBay, I wouldn't have known my refund was canceled due to a "technical issue" and I am sure they would have waited until March 1st to deny me the refund because I didn't send the chiller back.

Sorry that happened to you. That really sucks, bro. I hope it gets sorted soon.

You must have stood too close to me or something and got my bad luck cooties, LOL.

In all seriousness though, we all have more to be thankful for than to be upset about, but sometimes I have to intentionally remind myself that my circumstances could certainly be worse. It is not pleasant when things get screwed up, but bad situations that are temporary are always better than those that are permanent.

If they made it redeemable for in-store credit on the next purchase over $1,000 within 12 months it might be more palatable from a customer perspective. I'd consider it to be an advance down-payment on a buying spree planned ahead of a desirable product launch. But, then they wouldn't get money for nothing. That might defeat the purpose of what they are trying to accomplish if their goal is to get money for nothing.

eBay tends to be hands off until you ask them to step in or message them directly. If the seller doesn't accept returns as a condition, eBay will STILL stay hands off till you ask them to step in if the seller doesn't respond. This ia a flaw in their system because some sellers WILL respond, say they are sending a label and never send a label and try to time out your window.

It sounds like he maybe called in manually to void the return with a line of BS which will keep you in the dark while everything sits in limbo and you wait.

What they don't realize is you can reach out to eBay via eBay, Facebook and Twitter and they will jump all over it ASAP. They also don't realize that everything they said or sent digitally and even voice is for full view by eBay CSRs from both sides.

What she said was correct in that he informed you he would accept the return/refund then never sent a label but had you and the system thinking he did. I've even seen shady sellers try to indicate they MAILED the buyer a label so that's the hold up while they wait for a time out or for the buyer to get frustrated and quit.

Either way, once he indicated he was accepting the return / refund that is all eBay needs to see and if he fails to send a label they will just auto refund you.

Most transactions on eBay go well but I've had some hiccups and problems with sellers and being proactive and on top of things and detailing everything with their messaging system is key to getting satisfaction.

I went through something like that with the X170KM-G except the seller (XoticPC) just opted to not respond at all so I escalated (which is what you're in the process of doing right now). They STILL didn't respond so eBay ruled in my favor by default then suddenly they found the respond button to send a label and try to lay the groundwork to give a partial refund before I even sent it back so I made sure to document everything and send pictures of everything. eBay refunded me the entire amount. I will never do business with them on any level again nor recommend them to any buyer ever again.

When I went through my 9900ks fraud fiasco a few years back on eBay the seller even tried to misdirect, agreed to send me a label, then sent me the wrong label and after I shipped uploaded a different tracking # in hopes of being able to show the package wasn't shipped/delivered. I don't think some shady sellers realize eBay has access to any and all communication and images at all times. They quickly saw what they attempted to do, updated the tracking # to the proper one on his attached label and let it play out accordingly. They auto refunded me and ironically the package was returned to me a month later with the 8100 he tried to send me inside.

If you do happen to get a label make sure it correlates to the proper return address. Is this the same seller @tps3443 used for his chiller?

With eBay, it really comes down to documenting everything. Uploading pictures is a major help too.

Hope it works out for you bro.

This 12900K is  just amazing as it is. Seriously, i see nothing to improve there. You are such ahead of all of us right now. Really happy to see your name in #1 position. Well deserve.

Thanks brother. There are many good chips out there. But not so sure it will last for 12900K... Intel already bin as hard they can for the KS variant. Have too see if people get worse chips when the KS is out. Intel say they are for the OEM/system builders. But who know what Intel will do.

Still improvements for the scores🙂

You probably didn't believe the rtx 3060 could do an average of 210 all low in crysis 3. can't imagine the 3080 (400fps)

Please do. We welcome all benchmarks here as long as it is not a smartphone or tablet.

Anything Crysis related (especially Crysis 3) gets my attention. My favorite game franchise.

i'd like to mention thats with a high overclock the highest scoring 115w 3060. good luck scoring better. Mr. Fox what does your 3090 get lmao 600-900fps I can't even imagine. honestly all low on crysis 3 looks identical to all veryhigh. not sure why but it does one of the few games like this farcry being the other exception

proof of over 200, very demanding scene overall it averages more closer to 300-320

I still run my 11900K, it has been at 5.5Ghz daily for some time now. My water chiller kicks on and off as usual, it too runs daily lol. I still have the 3090 Kingpin. And, I don’t plan on ever selling it seeing how pale the 3090Ti is. If I’m smart I will keep my 3090KP HC as a backup, or secondary GPU for years to come. If you really think about it, I’d love to have just a 2080Ti FE in my second rig. Which uses weak integrated Intel graphics. So, that should give some indication on how long GPU’s really last us.

Anyways, hey everyone!

Glad to see you made you're way here @tps3443!

Seeing the price hike from the 3080 -> 3080ti and how normal 3090's are priced all the way up to $2300 MSRP, I'm just waiting for the insane pricing of the 3090ti to drop.

Yeah, I don't seem myself parting with my shunt modded 2080 Ti FTW3 or my 3090 KPE for a long, long time. They might both wear out and die before I replace them. I also don't see myself spending as much as I spent on the 3090 KPE on another GPU ever again. I absolutely love the 3090 KPE, but that was a really stupid move financially, even if I ignore the fact that I got it right before the prices went totally bonkers. At the original MSRP it was already way too much money. I do acknowledge that I was very blessed to have snagged it before things went crazy though, for sure.

If and when I do get a newer generation GPU it will be an ordinary reference PCB that has lots of waterblock options and I will just void the warranty with firmware, shunt and voltage mods to make it run like I want it to. My modded 2080 TI FTW3 overclocks just as well as just about any KPE of the same vintage using water cooling. It just lacks some of the controls I would need for sub-zero tuning. But, I'm not doing that anyway, so no biggie.

@ryan the place to click is invisble (not sure why) until you hover over it. To the far right of the browser in the same row as + Quote there is an area you click on. Find it and the option to give rep will appear out of nowhere. If someone else has already given rep, it is the blank space just to the right of the trophy/heart/thumbs up icons others have applied.

I am going to have to check. I don't remember. I know it's way up there with everything totally maxed out and 2560*1440 resolution/165Hz monitor. I bet I played games less than 4 hours for the entire year of 2021, LOL. When I did it was usually just for a few minutes to run some benchmarks.
