AIBs can only jack up the price so far till gamers opt for cheaper models. Looking at the 4090, baseline is $1600 and the realistic top end model is $2000 for the Strix. Expect $1000-$1300 tops for 7900XTX models realistically. Both sides have a few outliers as always or specialized Hybrid/blocked models. Depending on headroom OC, AIB models may have a better go at it than with Nvidia this time around. If there's a lot of room to play with better cooling and power considering the less than expected boost clocks on the 7900, an AIB model might be the way to go for many.

In these economic times (as you allude to), a $1000 card $600 less giving you the bulk (+/- per game) of a 4090 performance is going to be an easy decision for many.

Still would love EVGA to come out of nowhere with a KPE 7900XTX.  🤪

Expect the 4090ti sooner than later.

Nvidia is REALLY going to have to upsell RT and DLSS3 as everything else is skewing in AMDs favor.

If you must absolutely have the best RT performance, Nvidia is the logical choice.

If you must absolutely have NVENC, Nvidia is the logical choice

As long as AMD doesn't crap out on the drivers, they are really going to gain ground.

Dogecoin is gaining a bit of traction.....hopefully nothing Crypto-anything grabs ahold like last time.

This fall has been an absolute techgasm with AMD, Nvidia and Intel.....I'm lovin it.

I wouldnt look to Dogecoin for GPU mining speculation, wrong algorithm (ASIC)

I would keep an eye on Ergo and Raven, could be 1-2 more that I am unaware of but the former doesnt have universal adoption in the markets.

That all being said looking forward to when the reviews drop for AMD GPU's

I play 2560x1440P my 11900K could not keep up. I was cpu limited quite often. Not anymore! 😎

LOL, I know what you play at but experiencing GPU limitations is the common realm of 4k gaming. You just happen to catch up a bit with the 13900k. I saw the same thing even with a 12900k at pure stock at 1440p in certain areas / games so it makes sense.

In reality all I hear is the beginning argument to yourself on upgrading from your 3090. 🙂 We heard it before with your 2080TI's that went from "These scream! So close in performance! No Need to Upgrade!" to eventually you jumping on a 3090....

.....I"m sure we'll see the same song and dance here too and you'll end up with a 4090 or 4090ti. 😅

True, but I picked Dogecoin because the few reports I follow tend to follow its growth specifically and correlate it with a few lesser coins for some reason (why I don't know).

I don't engage in crypto in any way shape or form even down to lightly mining on my gear for many reasons but I try to follow a few sites to see if we're heading towards anything of another crypto-boom on any level.

You still mean Nvidia can and will charge 1600$ for the vanilla and 2000$ for the custom 4090 cards? And where will they place 4090Ti into this? Heck, the 4090Ti will be an improvement and maybe nvidia place it right below 2000$ or in best case 1900$. This will kill all the custom 4090 sales. Every single of them. And 1200$ for 4080. Then we have a possible 4080Ti in the stack. Where will they put this card? AMD have closed all te rooms for Nvidia as I see it. If AMD offer a good performer they will change where Nvidia will have to put the prices for better their cards. Or they will loose a lot of market shares. Fancy features or not over AMD doesn't matter. What matter is if the people is willing to spend much above 1000$. A few will do, but sales of 4090/4090Ti from 1600-2500$ will be slim. All they have to compete with forwards is an overpriced 4080@1200$ cards. This card should have never been above 700$. In worst case 799$ due greed and money inflation.

With much not differentiating performance between Nvidia's FE models and AIBs, the room is tight for AIBs and higher prices for customized models I agree.

Depending on the response to AMD and performance, the logical course for Nvidia is to lower the price of the 4090 to ~1299 and replace the $1599 price point with the 4090ti. Adjust the 4080 16GB down from $1299 to $899 to compete against the 7900xt then adjust the rest of the ADA product stack pricing down accordingly.

Speaking of AIB models, as expected 3 plug TUF 7900XTX and 7900XT announced....better cooling and more powah incoming:

Its the idea that meme coins can be used to offset potential losses from the larger coins iirc, its happened a few times. I dont follow it as much as I had before though.

More interested to see the AMD reviews in December, I guess they are expecting the Holiday season to kick start the sales?

I saw this. Noctua have started sell anti-vibration gaskets meant for water cooling radiators. I checked the price on Amazon. Wopping $9.90 for a pack of thin sheet of brown or black rubbers. Whats wrong with todays tech manufacturers bean counters? Don't they see there is something very wrong with how they put the prices? This is even more expensive than many good cooling fans. Pervers. And only $4 below paying for a real Noctua fan. Yep, this is disgusting.

And what if you need the 4th rubber gasket? Pay the same $10 twice for the second package or $20 for all 4 rubbers if you have an 480 mm rad?bash.gif.fc498ca48a73cd8c64759b17e3c72e84.gif At least put in 4 of them in a package for same awful price. Buy it? Nope. Hell freeze before I jump on such a deal.

NA-SAVG1 chromax.black

5 pack fans for $15. Something is very wrong if Noctua has to sell this piece of thin flimsy rubber for 70-75%  prices of what 5x 120mm fans costs.

I remember the good old days when value was king, AMD did pretty good with its 5870. And mobile parts were a far cry just as they are today but man was it fun benchmarking games and trying to get 30fps in crysis maxed out. now we have cards valued higher than what entire systems costed back then. I really hope AMD surpasses nvidia in rasterization performance so that these crazy prices are put to sleep.

I think its a really good sign that the 7900xtx is within 10 percent of the 4090, hey you never know they might just leap frog the ngreedia guys next generation. fingers crossed

Just an FYI. I bet everyone is sending too much voltage to their VCCSA with 13th Gen. I’m running 0.995 to mine lol. Totally stable.

VDD2 which is the CPU IMC voltage, I have that down to 1.350 so far. Now I’m working on  lowering the CPU VDDQ TX that is at 1.450v

My windows 11 install will be broke before the night is up!

8000mhz? geez I think my gaming laptop is 3200mhz I kinda wish I waited for the 12th gen intel cpus and ddr5. I kinda wonder how much of a difference it would make for my high refresh rate gaming. Im just guessing but I think im still gpu bottlenecked with my 3060 and 11800h

but congrats on 8000mhz

I have a really good 11900K that I upgraded from. It was very fast and I always liked 11th Gen. It did a good job pushing around a very power hungry 3090 Kingpin to the limits. It defied the same odds people hated 11th Gen for. It had crazy low latency memory, and it could run a much higher frequency DDR4 compared to other 11th Gen chips like it. Last but not least it would clock higher than most peoples 10900K’s. It did one thing really well, and that was gaming. Going in to 13th Gen, I can already imagine what 12th Gen Intel was like without ever even owning one (I skipped 12th Gen btw). I’ll say that there is a very large improvement going in to 13th Gen though it’s a solid platform because DDR5 is cheap now, left over Z690 motherboards are cheap and it leaves you with an affordable option to build even a monster with just like a 13600K system. 13th Gen comes out on top primarily with bruting through multithreaded stuff 2-3 times faster than my 11900K is pretty crazy. The 2nd thing is my GPU is now being used to 100% all the time in games when I’m not hitting a fps limit, or lots of action causing dips simply won’t happen anymore. So higher fps in games all the time for sure. Not sure how much higher, but the experience is drastically better to the point where I don’t need to benchmark anything or even look at a graph to compare. It’s nice to see competition in the computer world again. If it wasn’t for AMD, my current Intel chip wouldn’t be 2-3x times faster than my last Intel CPU that I bought new just 1 year ago lol.

I can't see ddr5 making a huge difference in gaming but with the new intel chips I see the gains as worthy of upgrading to that is, if a game calls for it. I benchmark alot I find it relaxing and fun but I think gaming could be fun again if developers were more innovative like nintendo, which is also kinda getting stagnent. the computer boomers basically geniuses in their own right are retiring and suprise suprise not much is coming out, sure there is a few stand outs like GTA V/witcher 3/ and red dead redemption 2. its just that most of the new games are sequels now at least the engaging ones

I might buy the new 3dmark benchmark on payday but thats about it....time to save up for a killer laptop or desktop still having a hard time deciding if portability is worth it when I never take my laptops anywhere but the odd time to the couch

DDR5 SO-DIMM offer disgusting timings and not very high ram speed. I just can't see DDR5 is a good value with laptops. And for most of the laptop models (most brands) you can't tune the ram settings in bios. Almost as soldered ram chips but replaceable. You will be stuck with what the bios accept and what the engineers will give you of options. Be happy with what you have bro ryan 🙂 Even with desktops the DDR5 sticks won't make a huge difference vs good quality high speed DDR4.

40-80 is 100 percent increase. 100 percent of 40 is 40 and a increase of 100 is 40...hence 80

lost my attention after that

 if he answered this

Question 2.
If the radius of the Gaussian surface enclosing a charge is halved, how does the electric flux through the Gaussian surface change ?
Answer:
Electic flux ϕE is given by
ϕE=Eds⃗ =Qε0
…. where [Q is total charge inside the closed surface
∴ On changing the radius of sphere, the electric flux through the Gaussian surface remains same.

funny guy though

its funny because I remember taking physics 12 in high school and it was like a 10 000 times more complex than a simple percentage increase we would have to do percentage increases in our heads lol..like really a guy doesnt have grade 4 math and I should listen too his take? hey I know nothing about quantum physics how would you like to join ryans quantum physics university.

I guess a few more weeks until Jensen's grief after the lost mining boom reaches the acceptance stage. A healthy price cut is needed in order for them to be able to compete with AMD and for the broader market to be able to afford their products.

I get he's trying to be funny but he clearly doesn't understand the architectural changes AMD did. The 7900 XTX is going to split the difference between the 4080 and 4090 in terms of performance, while being cheaper than both cards.

Nvidia will keep the performance crown with the 4090 and reset it yet again with the 4090 TI, but the damage has been done. As @Papusan pointed out, the 4090 TI is going to have to be 2500 to not kill the 4090's priced at 2k or cheaper.

Does anyone here believe that Nvidia will concede the 700 to 1000 range to AMD? For all intents and purposes, that is the new battleground for GPUs (it used to be the 400 to 600 range). Not at all. Nvidia is going to be in trouble, not with performance but their pricing. This is RDNA3's Ryzen moment.

It is also good for people buying and selling last generation GPUs. I wanted an A770, but couldn't buy one if my life depended on it due to no availability. I settled on the 3060 because being cheap was more important than owning the best. If I were still gaming and gaming important to me, the 3060 Ti FTW3 on water would be all I would need... for less than $400. Spending 400-500% more for another 10-15 FPS when everything is already 60+ is beyond foolish, especially when bread, eggs and milk require the donation of a kidney or the soul of your first-born.

2080 Ti FTW3 is on its way to Gig Harbor for repair. Nice guy.

@electrosoftMr. Dufus has yet to reply and probably won't. This guy is such a pompous prick. He sometimes does produce very useful YouTube content, but his attitude really sucks. I bet he doesn't have many friends in real life. He loves himself way too much to have any left for others. https://framechasers.org/faq/ I was planning to ping him directly to ask, but he wants $500 to answer a question. His life must be extremely challenging, and probably of his own doing. I bet he thinks his own poop doesn't stink, LOL.

His FAQ is crazy, LOL. I am surprised he has over 10K subscribers but some people are gluttons for punishment. I'm going to create a FAQ like this for the organization that I support, I wonder how it is going to turn out.

"

How do I contact you??

– Go back to the consulting page, pay 500$. I DO NOT HAVE TIME to answer questions or talk to people, I get enough spam as it is. If someone’s DM’s are turned off on all platforms, that means they don’t want to be messaged"
