TechSource picked up a Matrix 5090 and it can't memory OC past +275 for some reason while his Astral hits +650 no problem but I am wondering why neither of them can go full tilt memory OC in AB? (Timestamped at memory OC fail point).

 

Couldn't offset at stock as much as the Astral, but that makes sense considering native boost and still landed ~60mhz higher in Heaven bench run and scored higher overall.

 

OC wise it was better at stock voltage, but quite frankly neither one of these cards is worth the scratch IMHO. I loved my Astral for many reasons, but ($3359.99)  ~$3400 after tax and BB rewards just didn't sit right. To pick up an open box Vanguard 3 months later for ($1971) ~$2100 when all was said and done after tax with MC discounts  and be a much better sample really has altered my expectations going forward with the 6090 whenever it drops. I'll patiently wait and/or take a 6090 for a 60 day spin in the interim during the return window via BB if required like this last cycle ended up being for myself.

 

We all know those 6090s (especially if AI is still here) are going to be min $2299.99 if not higher.

Not that everyone isn't always looking to advance their careers, but those who are over qualified tend to do it more often.

 

The market also continues to tread downward and I expect more layoffs and contraction over the next few years.

 

@tps3443 in current market conditions, depending on what you actually do and its overall market viability/demand, holding tight is the best option atm especially with a young family and a new house but always keep your ear to the ground too.....quietly. I can name several friends and family that were a little vocal/forward facing about looking for another job and their current employer, ah, expedited their job search in the worse way by letting them go.

None of the 5090s are worth what people are paying for them at any tier level, and the halo models represent the poorest value of all. It seems insane to me that anyone is paying a lot extra to get almost nothing in return. They do not deliver benefits to scale with price and (as noted in your comments and the video) can even be an inferior product overall. I do not think any GPUs models other than the Intel options and 9070 XT offer anything that somewhat resembles value based on price.

The best job is the one you have. At the end of the day, job you used to have is of no value whatsoever. The best that you can hope that it provides is qualification for something that produces a paycheck that makes you a more attractive candidate.

Looks like you have it covered. The only thing I do not see are the Mayhem's additives I mentioned. You only need them if you are using distilled water.

 

FWIW, I have a leak tester, but only purchased it recently. I historically leak tested my systems turned off and unplugged with the pumps running. Finding a leak is rare. I cannot remember the last time I had one except for the time I left a drain port unplugged by accident. It's nice to have but not essential. The leak tester will reveal a leak, but will not direct you to the source of the leak unless you can actually hear it. Pressurizing a system with coolant while not connected to power is how you find the leak. Where it is probably the most useful is checking waterblocks for leakage.

 

Are you going to use one of the Core 100 D5 pumps for the Aurora 250mm pump/reservoir unit? (It does not include a pump is why I am asking.)

Almost no memory kits available here home. Vanilla 32GB DDR5 kit start around $600 and very few different kits you can buy. Faster 32GB mem kits will go for the double or more if you can find what you want🥴 48GIG kit more like $1300-1500USD.

 

Of  course there is massive demand in China. Russia need western cutting edge tech for their war machine. And the same for China themself

Damn fragile... CM quality. Hence they later had to go outside the connector/cable specs and create the stealth feature for their 12+4 pin custom cables.

Can you see the same pattern? A so called good 12V-2*6 connector won't be any better than the QC it goes through when you manufacture an finished power cable and slap it in the (fancy) box/plastic bag..

Had I gone through your recent posts earlier, I would have talked to you about buying one of my MO-RA rads. I don't use them, but I left them filled with water and coolant for the past year and a half. So perhaps it is good I didn't mention it early, lol. 

 

Perhaps it time I break them down and drain them later today.

UPS is WELL known for this. I remember I had to fight Bestbuy when a laptop I ordered was "delivered" by UPS. I went through Bestbuy, got denied, even though I questioned why they would deliver a 3000 laptop with no required signature and I had camera footage showing no delivery at the time UPS claimed they did. I went through the CC company - Chase, when I had their Bestbuy card and to no surprise, they sided with Bestbuy. I wasn't going to pay.

 

I had to threaten to sue, with my attorney sending demand letters to both Bestbuy and Chase. Chase closed out my account and tried a couple times to add the balance to my credit report and Bestbuy blacklisted me for an entire year. The funny thing is, I haven't purchased anything from them since but I did have to pickup a Legion Go S that I ordered from Lenovo at my last remaining local Bestbuy.

At least UPS now adopts the photographic evidence chain of delivery as an added, extra step but still that is insane. After a few delivery hiccups with Best Buy, I only do in store pickup for most items and depending on value, I crack it open right then and there before walking out the door.

 

I did find once I installed very noticeable and visible cameras to my front door, deliveries were much better and packages placed properly. I then noticed deliveries suddenly shifted  quite frequently to my side door so I installed a camera there too. 😁

 

Fraud and unethical buyers are so rampant now that those of us who abide by the law have to fight an uphill battle.

 

I guess the one saving grace is it never made it out for "delivery" but was torn apart and taken (I suspect my package was not the only one), at the local distribution center.

Chances are I may have taken up your offer, always prefer to do business with you and Fox for sure.

 

I can also say I did make the purchases, probably the largest I have had in some time, around 1700. 

Now of course I just find out that the server heatsinks I bought wont fit LGA 3647. Also figure out that nearly no heatsinks worthy of note exist for LGA 3647. Looks like I'll stick with the Dynatrons I have just to get the ball rolling but it's looking like I will be building a second loop perhaps around the beginning of the next month for the server.

EDIT: Turns out the Dynatrons I have also dont work since Intel did the whole square vs narrow ILM.
