welp the listed hardware specs for that tier are pretty old and weak, anyways....guessing they wanna make sure they can sell their game to as many hardware-starved kiddos as possible 😆 it was just a question of when not if they would be starting to use DLSS and framegen as crutches....

 

finally back to gaming here, finished high on life 1 + dlc yesterday, now playing through alan wake 2 DLCs 🙂 after that not sure yet, maybe black myth wukong or star trek voyager across the unknown?

This game is crazy fun and unbelievable big ..you can get lost in it.  If you like open world  games this is the one..until GTA VI arrives.

Found a brand new factory sealed Z790 Apex Encore for $400 the other day. Went by and picked it up immediately. Not sure why I wanted it, but I think maybe because I love this 273PQE so much I'll probably put it in that board instead? Maybe I'll just keep it and never open it lol. Figured for the price, for a peak Z790 board and being factory new and sealed I couldn't pass it up. And my never ending hardware addiction continues. 🤪

I'm just not seeing the value in any way, shape or form with this $50 cable. I'd rather apply that towards a WVP2 and bin some cheaper cables if needed.

I don't hate FG or DLSS if...IF it can and continues to be backported to older cards allowing those with weaker hardware to at least play modern'esque games decently.

 

What I do not want are devs using it as the first line of fps optimization vs good ole fashion tight code. I am sure some dev studios are being, um "incentivized" to include these technologies as much as possible to slowly shift the gaming scene to make these features standard going forward and shift the narrative from raster to an amalgamation of RT/PT meets AI fueled DLSS/FG as the heavy lifter and minimize raster as much as possible as the entry point of generation and then hand it all off.

If you're able to eventually (I am unsure of the state of Bartlett with good Z790 boards atm) tune the snot out of the 273PQE like a 14900KS, that would seem to be the way to go for many reasons. if not for peak 14th gen chip.

 

How did the 270k binning go and where did you end up chip quality wise?
