User: Ive been running win10 lite iso's for awhile now but have an i7 12700h and needed a win11 lite build to take advantage of direct storage.. your reflection build is pretty great.. although one little thing.. you have automatic driver installation on.. so on my clean install, when i connected to the internet, windows updated all my drivers in the background while i was trying to update them manually.. i turned it off manually and rebooted but was too late and had to rreinstall the os again turn off the windows driver updates before i did anything else. other than that it's freaking great.. no noticeable performance loss coming from windows 10.. @WindowsX-Lite: You could try our latest W11 build, 'Exceptional 11' which has metered connection enabled for all new connections and types, which means it won't download drivers automatically (until you turn metered connection off) 1 "The Killer" ASUS ROG Z790 Apex Encore | 14900KS | 4090 HOF + 20 other graphics cards | 32GB DDR5 | Be Quiet! So it has to be latest version of Windows 10 if you do some customizations/changes for your likings. If you aren't a gamer maybe Win 10 2021 LTSC and do same tweaks, same as for the latest Win 10 build. Win 10 can be used until October 14, 2025. And the LTSC versions even longer. Yup, you can make Win 11 more like Win 10 with tweaks/software... But put on some lipstick won't change the fact that the OS is still Win 11. How do they compare purely score wise? As @Papusanmentioned, the only way to know which OS works best is to test them. Ghost Spectre has a nice GUI and features, but it is generally terrible for CPU performance (Cinebench, 3DMark Physics and Combined tests, etc.) but good on graphics-only tests like Port Royal and Speed Way. The overall best OS for CPU performance I have found (excluding Windows 7, which is superior to everything released since for CPU and memory performance) is Oprekin.com Lite Plus W11 Pro 21H2. Almost all versions of Windows 8, 10 and 11 are horrible at wPrime32M benchmarks. They take roughly twice as long to complete wPrime32M compared to Windows 7. Sky Diver, 3DMark 11 and Vantage physics tests are also generally vastly superior using Windows 7. You can actually see the lag at the start of some of these tests. It is like nothing happens for the first second or so. Cinebench R23 cannot function on Windows 7. If you remember, it was originally released as a "Micro$oft Store-only" benchmark and they caught a lot of flak for being stupid. Cinebench R23 relies on WinRT files needed for ARM support for some stupid reason. Maybe they knew the superior EOL OS would rip it to shreds so they made it non-functional to keep the EOL OS from making the newer ones look like the trash that they actually are. As best I can tell, the really fast CPU performance tests that require a nearly immediate response as soon as it launches (wPrime32M and 3DMark 11, for example) excel on Windows 7 because of some kind of lag on later releases. Maybe some kind of aggressive power management thing. Longer tests, like Cinebench generally do fine on Windows 10 and 11. A few benchmarks, like Port Royal, get the highest scores for me on the full cancer versions of Windows 11. Maybe DX12 optimization is the reason. I am not sure of the mechanics behind any of this. All based on scores and observations, not technical information. That is why the only way to know is have multiple OSes installed and go to the trouble of testing. 2 1 Wraith // Z790 Apex | 14900KS | 4090 Suprim X+Byksi Block | 48GB DDR5-8600 | Toughpower GF3 1650W | MO-RA3 360 | Hailea HC-500A || O11D XL EVO Banshee // X870E Carbon | 9950X | 4090 Gaming OC+Alphacool Block | 32GB DDR5-8200 | RM1200x SHIFT | XT45 1080 Nova || Antec C8 Spectre // Z790i Edge | 13900KS | 3090 Ti FTW3 | 32GB DDR5-8200 | RM1000e | EK Nucleus CR360 Direct Die || Prime A21 Half-Breed // Dell Precision 7720 | BGA CPU Filth+MXM Quadro P5000 | 4K Display | Sub-$500 Grade A Refurb | Nothing to Write Home About Mr. Fox YouTube Channel | Mr. Fox @ HWBOT The average response time for a 911 call is 10 minutes. I'd have to test it again to know for certain. Most versions of Windows 11 22H2 (bloated or debloated) seem to perform better in Port Royal and it is mostly a CPU agnostic benchmark. Port Royal is probably the one benchmark I run the least in 3DMark suite. I don't like it. I am also not a huge fan of Speed Way, but I like it better than Port Royal. Sky Diver and Time Spy are my favorites in the 3DMark suite, and they are both heavily influenced by CPU/Physics performance. Fire Strike as well, but it doesn't give as much weight in the overall score for CPU/Physics performance as I would like it to. I think it's the most pleasing of any Winduhz 11 experience, but not the best performance. It carries too much bloat and only offers a minor, and I do mean very minor, bump over a full-feces OS. 4 Wraith // Z790 Apex | 14900KS | 4090 Suprim X+Byksi Block | 48GB DDR5-8600 | Toughpower GF3 1650W | MO-RA3 360 | Hailea HC-500A || O11D XL EVO Banshee // X870E Carbon | 9950X | 4090 Gaming OC+Alphacool Block | 32GB DDR5-8200 | RM1200x SHIFT | XT45 1080 Nova || Antec C8 Spectre // Z790i Edge | 13900KS | 3090 Ti FTW3 | 32GB DDR5-8200 | RM1000e | EK Nucleus CR360 Direct Die || Prime A21 Half-Breed // Dell Precision 7720 | BGA CPU Filth+MXM Quadro P5000 | 4K Display | Sub-$500 Grade A Refurb | Nothing to Write Home About Mr. Fox YouTube Channel | Mr. Fox @ HWBOT The average response time for a 911 call is 10 minutes. electrosoft
SFF update: Everything installed and good to go hardware wise. AMD and their software is another matter. If I can't resolve some of these issues, I'll be switching back to Nvidia but that's for another post. The 6700xt looks tiny in that 3 slot triple fan chamber in the front: And close up ready for transport: Once closed up, I tested WoW in the two known CPU and GPU killer spots aka Valdrakken (Slayer of CPUs) and Ardenweald (Slayer of GPUs). In Valdrakken the GPU will routinely sit at 40-70% because of so much player data versus GPU load but out in Ardenweald it will sit at 99%. Just sitting in each zone for an hour, CPU topped out at ~58c which is great considering every 12th and 13th gen laptop would shoot to throttleville and it took a decent amount of tweaking to get my X170SM and (not so much) KM running in the 70's CPU wise with SL 10900k and what looked to be a good 11900k. Fans weren't even at 50%. This is with the ~$55-60 bargin basement, middle of the pack at best ID Cooling 280mm AIO. GPU in Ardenweald hit ~75c but even tested open case it was hitting ~72c. GPU fans topped out at 44%. Initially temps were higher but once I removed all the heavy filters from all the sides, temps plummeted. That metallic mesh they use really hinders air flow. 2 2 Electrosoft Prime: SP109 14900KS | Asrock Z790i Lightning | MSI Suprim X Liquid 4090 | AC LF II 420 | TG 2x16GB 8200 | Samsung 990 Pro 2TB | EVGA 1600w P2 | Phanteks Ethroo Pro | Alienware AW3225QF 32" OLED Heath: i9-12900k | EVGA CLC 280 | Asus Strix Z690 D4 | Asus Strix 3080 | 32GB DDR4 2x16GB B-Die 4000 | WD Black SN850 512GB | EVGA DG-77 | Samsung G7 32" 144hz 32" My for sale items on eBay. Papusan
Hmmm. I wonder how much Nvidia have paid the game developers.... In a statement responding to users reporting "WTF? Performance?", the developer stated "we designed the game with upscaling in mind (DLSS/FSR/XeSS)." To me that sounds like a lame excuse as to why performance sucks. Hardware requirements of the game are pretty extreme. In order to reach 60 FPS at 1080p with ultra settings you need a RTX 3070 Ti or Radeon RX 6800. RTX 4060 Ti is pretty close with 57 FPS. Got a 1440p monitor? Then you better have a fast graphics card. At least a RTX 3090 Ti, RTX 4080 or Radeon RX 7900 XT is required for 60 FPS at WQHD. 4K? You guessed right, not even the mighty RTX 4090 can reach 60 FPS. NVIDIA's fastest card only gets 45 FPS at 4K, the Radeon RX 7900 XTX is close behind with 44 FPS. Remnant II Benchmark Test & Performance Analysis techpowerup.com Yep, features as upscaling can be Nvidias ticket to the upper money heaven. New gen cards will get an upgraded version while two years old cards will get screwed with the the same old and reach the trash bin faster than ever.. 3 "The Killer" ASUS ROG Z790 Apex Encore | 14900KS | 4090 HOF + 20 other graphics cards | 32GB DDR5 | Be Quiet! ryan
locked 60. I just needed to tweak the heck out of my system to manage 60 locked, and here I thought the 3060 and its 6gb vram was obsolete. simply not true, I can play minesweeper solitaire and mobi the magic crystals, many more AAA games when would be a good time to upgrade to a desktop? should I wait for 14th gen 1 6 ZEUS-COMING SOON Omen 16 2021 Zenbook 14 oled Vivobook 15x oled
