I would also look into what kind of specs it has in terms of power, memory and voltage phases. Not all GPUs are created equal. Nothing in this list for Inno3D but some others for comparison like Suprim, Strix and Zotac AIRO (all good build quality). https://linustechtips.com/topic/1461611-rtx-4090-vrm-meta-analysis-and-feaib-comparison/

Some of the 4090 have very poor build quality and cost the same as better cards. I do not know much about Inno3D so I can't say. No such specs are provided on the manufacturer web site (red flag? - maybe).

https://www.inno3d.com/en/PRODUCT_INNO3D_GEFORCE_RTX_4090_ICHILL_FROSTBITE

Like @Mr. Fox points out, If you're going to go big, go right.

Really stick to MSI, Asus or if you want to import something the HOF 4090 for a better overall phase and design.

I was watching your last video with Starfield @tps3443 and watching those native dips well below 60fps at 4k hurt my soul. 🤣

I know. Same if you crossflash two different SKUs in Nvidia lineup. Not sure why you put in 6800XT. The vbios link I posted was for Liquid Devil 6900 XT https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/232536/powercolor-rx6900xt-16384-210318-1

Maybe you thought about something different? Or maybe I didn't fully understood what you meant with Cross-flashing 6900XT vBIOS to 6800XT.

I misunderstood and didn't read the link close enough. For some reason I thought it was 6800XT firmware, so my bad.

But, that Red Devil Liquid 6900XT vBIOS you posted has a lower power limit (watts and amps) than my stock OC Formula vBIOS, so the performance would likely be less. As far as I can tell, the OC Formula has the highest power limits of all of the 6900XT, so there is no path to upgrade the firmware that I am aware of.

Look at this. Techspot say no discount for 4090. Aka it follow MSRP at 1600$

https://www.techspot.com/article/2738-gpu-pricing-update/

Then look on the price here in Norway without the tax NOK 16,392.00 excl. VAT (this is the cheapest 4090 we get here home) Inno3D GeForce RTX 4090 X3 OC. This means we get an 4090 well below MSRP if we bought it outside Norway in a places etc in U.S states with no taxes... 1,522.94 United States Dollar Who could dream about this in Norway. 4090 below MSRP, how is this even possible, LOOL

Edit. How high is the watts and amps for the 6900XT OC Formula vBIOS?

Perhaps it was not wise to use 10 Noctua NF-F12 iPPC 3000 PWM 120mm fans and allow Asus with its "Auto Fan Tuning" to control them. For some reason Asus thinks if the CPU hits 55 to 60C, you should run the chassis fans at 75%.

Even with a thermalright SSD heatsink, my 980 PRO still idles at 60C. I think the GPU is blocking the air flow (the SSD sits under the GPU). I may have to get another M.2. PCIe card.

Running that fan at 75% is going to be pretty darned noisey. I think the problem with ASUS fan curves is they don't actually take different fans speeds into account. I think they just make some assumptions and assign an arbitrary percentage based on temperature. So, a 3,000 RPM fans is going to produce totally different results than an 1800 RPM fan at the same percentage. That's really dumb, but not entirely surprising considering the source.

On the SSD issue, it is very possible that the airflow is blocked based on the location. Have you checked SSD temperatures without any heat sink just for giggles?

KEFI out here talking the talk and walking the walk. Buying hardware out of his own pocket and just pushing it as far as it will go. This is his second 4090 after his first went to hardware heaven and  he ordered a HOF 4090 too (second half of video).

Seen this one? And how can he be sure? LOOL https://www.overclock.net/threads/nvflashk-flash-any-bios-to-nvidia-gpus-safe-board-id-bypass-up-to-4xxx-series-including-founders-edition-cards.1807438/post-29238429

Yea @kefi is still around. Posted in the 4090 thread not long ago. Busy binning 4090s I think. Had a Strix, but was a dud. Now getting a HOF.

You meant to say he is busy defrauding Amazon and Nvidia by returning 4090 cards he has clearly violated the warranty by flashing an unsupported 1000+watt bios and burning the card up. Hope that helps.

If the angled adapters v1 wasn't defective then why recommand that the screwed one not to use them anymore? Is this something magic @electrosoft Why not just recall all adapers and give the buyers the money back? And why should people pay for shipping if they want the new adapers to replace their ticking bombs from Cablemod? Because the v1 wasn't defective, LOOL

The ultimate fix if you lost the silicon lottery. Just let the card go up in smoke 🙂

Spoiler

CABLE MOD SHOUDN'T EXIST MUCH LIKE THEIR FLAWED V1

@bro thats messed why after melted card and cables would they say its not their fault and there is nothing wrong with V1, utterly stupid. like having a flat tire on a car and fixing it by saying, I don't see the flat tire. looks fine to me(meanwhile).

as for starfield dlss mod I cant see a 3090 getting less than 60fps at 4k im at a solid 30fps at 4k with my lowly 3060. triple the power means he would be hovering around 90 also it doesn't hurt image quality to lower a few settings alot of them have no perceivable difference in how they look and especially with starfield.

as for the ban. I posted 4 typical posts here, and got a 100 point spamming warning. just lmao. I think some people should be well nvm. but the point is sometimes people attack you when they feel threatened or are incredibly insecure. just have to push forward.

My comment is still in the thread. The mods have already removed a few comments above. Wonder why and in exactly this thread where people are angry for how Cablemod handle the recall (I mean the early adapter program due melted trash adapters).  Maybe they was more banned than permanently banned as me, LOOL

Hope so many as possible can read my reply before it's gone. Or will it? 😃

Somewhere the bean counters have decided addressing it on a case by case basis at this point is more financially sound than issuing an entire recall and replacement program. Only time will tell if this was a good call.

Yikes, did you contact the mods to see why you were banned? What community rules did you break? I've never been banned on Reddit but in my defense I think I've posted all of two times in my entire life.....

Yeah, I just hate reddit. The place is crawling alive with leftist idiots like maggots on a dead deer carcass rotting in the woods. Rivaled only by Facebook, TikTok and Twitter as the largest gatherings of stupid people the world has ever seen. Better to disassociate yourself with such a scummy place and scummy people. I recommend that all smart people stay far away from such stupidity clusters. Otherwise, you're going to get their poop on your shoes and then it'll get tracked onto your carpet.

User error. Had to install the latest driver cancer, LOL.

What did you do? I need to get my chiller to run colder. Not running the chiller right now and my water is around 32°-34°C.

This game is nuts 700 watts easily @2.2Ghz on the OG 3090KP. My power percent says 77% which should equate to  770 watts. I’m not sure why that is.

Heres mine. And a quick shot of the “Super Nintendo” style graphics Cyberpunk 2077 provides us 😂

Yeah, power draw is crazy, especially using DLSS Quality and frame regeneration turned off. You need to update to patch 2.0 to see the full effect.

Sheesh, @Mr. Fox is ~57% higher performance with his 4090 vs your KP 3090.

Me looking at your  results while sipping my latte... 🤣

That's also using patch 1.63 which does not have the new feature. Patch 2.0 with Ray Reconstruction will load it even more. Patch 2.0 introduces considerably more eye candy overhead. This would be unplayable with a mid-range GPU unless you really dumbed things down.

This is how much higher FPS is with patch 1.63.

Lol @electrosoftreally wants @tps3443to buy a 4090 😁 😆.. I am putting my money on him, 2 3 months  and well see a new 4090 😄

@Mr. Fox Yeah need to install nvidias newest and shiniest drivers to get the "goodies" 🤑. Also reconstruction is not available with all the ray tracing presets because Nvidia 😄

It’s a heavy game. I did not have HWinfo open, I may run again and see what my max power usage is. Probably gonna be like sub 800 watts. My water temps were fairly high. My chiller can’t sustain 100-150 watts cpu power, and 700+ watts GPU power simultaneously. I mean, it can but my water temp right now is 18C.

As for tinkering, I just turned the graphics down 😂 and FOV too lol. It still says “High” textures, and “Ultra” Raytracing “DLSS” off. Set NVCP to high performance image quality. I gave me +3 more FPS lol.

Here is with Ultra preset, no DLSS or ray reconstruction. Ultra enables FSR by default. Test with DRS and without. Power draw is notably less with no ray tracing or ray reconstruction.

Ultra (FSR) with DRS enabled and 100% scaling to (4K) max resolution.

Yes, I corrected that and everything worked. Thank you for mentioning it in case it had not occurred to me. I was using what seems to be the best benching driver rather than the latest driver.

Even the 13900KS was drawing 450W on my system. That's with warm water, too. The PC has been running for 3 days in a hot office and no chiller running. 100% CPU utilization and 99% GPU utilization. This is using the 1000W beta ASUS vBIOS that wasn't supposed to ever be released to the public (no overcurrent protection, etc.). It works best for me. The stock MSI Suprim vBIOS works better than the Galax HOF 666W vBIOS for me, but this one works best of the three.

@Mr. Fox Does your Auto DLSS mode set Quality or Balanced?

Quality is the preset default.

@tps3443
Edit: actually, that is not correct. I double-checked to confirm. Auto just shows "Auto" but based on the FPS it appears to be quality. I don't know how to tell other than that. If I set it to Quality, the preset changes to "Custom" but the FPS performance is the same as "Auto" default.
