Quality is the preset default.

@tps3443
Edit: actually, that is not correct. I double-checked to confirm. Auto just shows "Auto" but based on the FPS it appears to be quality. I don't know how to tell other than that. If I set it to Quality, the preset changes to "Custom" but the FPS performance is the same as "Auto" default.

Auto.jpg

That’s very interesting, mine is not like that. Auto DLSS has always been balanced DLSS for me. Whether it be 2080Ti or RTX3090 with 4K or even 1080P monitor it forces a default of “Auto=Balanced DLSS”. It’s always been that way for me since launch.

If it is truly "Auto" and works as one would expect, it should select based on the capabilities of the GPU and not aribitrarily default to Balanced or Peformance. One way of determining that is to see if your FPS with 3090 is similar to 4090 using Auto. If it is, then it is probably working correctly, meaning it chose a less aggressive configuration for 3090 to allow it to maintain nice performance. Same would be true for say a 3060, 3070 or 3080 if "Auto" is working the way I would expect it to. If it did not then I would say that the feature is broken and manual settings would be needed. Maybe "Balanced" accomplishes the same thing as "Auto" and the outcome resembles the capabilities of the GPU. That could explain why my performance with 4090 resembles the "Quality" setting. The FPS is high enough that it can run at higher settings, whereas an older or less performant GPU could not.

Mine is Auto DLSS= Balanced mode. I wish it were smart and detected the GPU power for me. But, here’s the thing having a RTX3090 and a 1920x1080P native monitor is more than enough to drive this game 100+ FPS. But it will still set “Auto DLSS balanced” even if we could get 90+ FPS with Quality DLSS. Cyberpunk is special like that 😂

Does it actually say "Balanced" anywhere? Or, does the performance equate to setting it manually to "Balanced" mode? I can't tell by any other means on my end. I only see "Auto" on my system and that is all that shows in our screenshots.

My comment is still in the thread. The mods have already removed a few comments above. Wonder why and in exactly this thread where people are angry for how Cablemod handle the recall (I mean the early adapter program due melted trash adapters).  Maybe they was more banned than permanently banned as me, LOOL

Hope so many as possible can read my reply before it's gone. Or will it? 😃

Yeah, I just hate reddit. The place is crawling alive with leftist idiots like maggots on a dead deer carcass rotting in the woods. Rivaled only by Facebook, TikTok and Twitter as the largest gatherings of stupid people the world has ever seen. Better to disassociate yourself with such a scummy place and scummy people. I recommend that all smart people stay far away from such stupidity clusters. Otherwise, you're going to get their poop on your shoes and then it'll get tracked onto your carpet.

Both you and bro @electrosofthave been mods on forums. How long time do they need to respond on message you have sent? FYI... I can still see my comment but if I share the link the comment is gone.

Edit. Seems my post is still there and can be shared if I take with the whole posts/post string. Why permanently ban me but let my so called #offensive# post/reply still be in the thread? They usually delete posts they don't like. Weird.

My message... It say I have broke rule's. Not one but they say community rules. This means more than one rule is broken. Again... My post should never be the reason for permanently ban. Damn Stupids/morons!!

Vbios testing with firmware from "Worlds fastest" graphics card... The matrix

Asus 4090 OC Strix flashed to Asus 4090 Matrix | TechPowerUp Forums

Seems Asus walk their own ways.... Or forced by nvidia. And the bin is from the revised silicon from Nvidia.

voltage-area-gpu.jpg

Anyway we all like to experiment, though i have found out one thing, this matrix bios seems to have a hard gpucore voltage lock even with powerlimit up to 120% and voltage slider maxed the card would only do 1075mv max where as the original strix bios i could push that to 1100mv

anyhoooo apart from that there is not much of a reason to run this bios.... and also the memory clocks the exact same so nothing new there either......

For those that are planning on buying this 4000 dollar card, stick with your 4090 if i was you and just get a waterblock haha saving 2000 dollars right there...

Well, we live in a different time and a different world now. They should have responded immediately (like within a day or less) but that assumes that they actually care about being a good moderator, or care about you as a member of the community. Chances are good neither of those things are true and they decided to ban you because your posts went against the narrative they wanted and they didn't care that you had not technically broken any rules. That is the way of the screwed up world we live in and cancel culture cancer has spread beyond the political realm to become a common way people deal with personal hang-ups and differences of opinion in matters that are trite, trivial and generally unimportant.

Sad to say, but if you haven't heard anything by now they will likely continue to ignore you because they don't care and they're not good moderators. If they are brand fanboys they used the ban as an excuse to silence a detractor. :classic_sad:

Yup. I expect they don't like that people are honest. But why should I lie? I'm an honest man. Have lerned that from when I was a small kid +50 years ago. I always follow that rule. And if there is something I don't like I tell it. But in a nice way. I never offend or write offensive in my posts. I always tell how it is but in e nice calm way. Some people are very weak if they don't want to touch the horns of the bull when the bull is calmed down. What are they afraid of? That I coming through the web and spit on them? Or that I a second time or later will tell the truth once again? Yup, thats it. They are afraid for the real truth. And that hurts them... Or better say offend them.

Edit. We can continue talk about stupids.... Why let three vram ic's have thermal pads and heatsink and then let the 5 others without nothing? Is Asus the new Dell? Is this vram heatsink designed by Dell's engineers?

s2gRw77.jpg

This is the 1070 HOF vram heatsink with thermal pads for all 8 vram IC's. And Galax even gave the 1070 2x8-pins. Asus could only afford 1x8-pin for their 1070 OC flagship and half-baked vram heatsink. Whats wrong with Asus bro @Mr. Fox? Greed or stupidity? Could it be both bro @electrosoft?😵

I usually responded as soon as I signed back on if there were any inbox/email inquires so within 24hrs. I also would confer with other mods to get a group consensus or input on bans, strikes and warnings. Sometimes other mods can see things differently for clarity.

If I had to guess, it was a bit too much of poking the proverbial bear even if the stick was laden with truths.

Hopefully there is an appeal process or you can escalate but if not that's that. 😞

No way I'm paying $3200/4000 for that card. Seeing more results show it to be no better than others under most conditions just solidifies that even moreso.

Even at that price, they sold out quick for their initial run so clearly there was a market for 4090 buyers wanting it.

I almost regretted paying  more for my Suprim ($1800) even over a base $1600 model but it has turned out to be a very quiet (no to low coil whine) good mem and especially good GPU core clocker even on stock vBIOS and dumps all the heat out of my case so I'm good to go but in hindsight I might have been able to squeak by with a 7900xtx and pocketed (or kept) the ~$800-900+ differential (I think I paid $1910 shipped to my door after tax from 'da egg).

If anyone wants to split the difference, the Asus Evangelion Edition is back in stock for $2300 🤣

Ray tracing totally kills AMD GPUs prior to 7900 XT/XTX. RDNA2 can't handle it well at all.

Not sure what you meant. But when I talked about the chat with Cablemod thats another thing. I have CM reps in my message box because he wanted talk with me when the smoking adapters become a thing. He wanted show me the new adapters before all others. I tried write to the CM reps to see if they could change the mods mind. He responded with Hello. Haven't seen more in the chat.

I'm sure somebody is going to want to get screwed over and pay $500 more than the normal and already ludicrous 4090 price to have that red green card. Don't know why they would, but there's no doubt in my mind. There is never a shortage on dumb.

HERE'S MORE DUMB. WORLDS FASTEST GRAPHICS CARD CAN'T USE THE SCREEN THE WAY IT WAS MEANT TO BE USED. You'll need AMD's 7000 series cards. An +1600$ cards as 4090 ISN'T GOOD ENOUGH, lool

And it won't work any better with the $3200 Matrix, HaHa

Hey fellas!

I've got my hands on a Toughbook CF-31 MK5 with an i5 5300u. I plan on using it personally and am trying to install Win7 on it. However, I get an error stating the installer can't read my bootable USB drive. I've had this problem before when installing Win7 on my P870DM and I solved it by incorporating USB 3.0 drivers into both the boot.wim and install.wim files. I have tried doing that again and it hasn't worked. However, I've noticed the CF-31 has its own USB 3.0 drivers. There are two executables, one for the actual driver and one for the Host Control driver. My problem is that I don't know what part of the drivers I need to inject. I assume some of you guys have had to go through this process in order to get Win7 installed on newer systems. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Can you install from internal CD/DVD and PS/2 keyboard and mouse? That is how I did it with Z490 and Z690. I gave up on trying to integrate USB 3.X drivers.

I originally tried an SD card because I feared of this issue but it can't boot from SD card. It doesn't have any PS/2 ports and I'd have to buy a DVD drive for it which I'd prefer not to do.

I guess I could install Win7 through another computer, but this thing has a weird storage caddy that is super annoying to take apart and access the storage device.

I’m back in business! My 3090KP was pulled down for its annual “tear it apart” I lose a terminal O-ring down the drain in my kitchen. I pulled my kitchen sink drain trap, and no luck, I could not find it.

These specific O-Rings like a rectangle with rounded corners.

I went to Lowe’s and ended up finding one that worked (Same thickness). I had to actually cut the new one and make it a little shorter. I spliced it back together and all is good! She is air tight. I used O-ring lube as well.

@Rage Set this GPU and block have been so awesome. I have never kept a video card this long before. It just works man. No strong urges to replace it just yet . 😂

Maybe its a per case sub-reddit kind of thing, like people didnt like the idea of Doom sub-reddit being ran by people employed by bethesda and I think that also came up when LTT/GN conflict flared up.

I dont use reddit, it never made much sense to me. Once a friend was asking me to use a "mod" to "make reddit easier to use" is right about the time I dropped off.

That could be the best way in your situation and I've done it many times before as well. No need to remove the internal storage. Install on another computer, make a Macrium Reflect image of it on USB, then restore it on the system where you want it. Easy peasy.

Test KFA² GeForce GTX 1070 HOF : ultra blanche, ultra convaincante - Les Numériques

That K5 Pro is some seriously sticky messy stuffy. I tell you what else is nearly just as impossible to remove. That full cover Fujipoly pad that I use sweats oils when it heats. And it has permanently coated my entire back side of the 3090KP PCB in this thick clear dielectric grease film, not even a bottle of alcohol and a tooth brush can remove it. I could pour soda on it while running and be totally fine. It’s kind of a 2nd feature because since I run a chiller and some days I develop a little condensation without even realizing it.

Anyways, my favorite GPU‘s are the Galax HOF models, whether it be current gen or older gens there is something special about them. There is a 3090Ti HOF “OC Lab” with the rare OC lab waterblock and white presentation hardcase etc. it’s so cool, if I had money too burn it’s be mine. The guy wants like $2,000 for it. But man, it’s #4 of only #100 in the world. I’d love to overclock that thing! I really love the RTX4090 Galax as well, but I feel like they should really have a matching HOF waterblock. Another GPU I still want to try is the 2080Ti HOF OC Lab.

I have kinda learned that with PC parts nowadays, it’s not about how new or fast something is. It’s about how much fun you have with it! And these elite OC cards can absolutely do that. Which is exactly why I’d be dumb enough to spend $2,000 on a Galax HOF 4080 or even a Galax HOF 3090Ti lol. Either one can get whooped by cheaper slower 4090’s. But the user experience is on another level! 🙂 I forget this time to time when I’m window shopping and spot cheap low priced 4080’s/4090’s. And then I think about the coolness and overclock experience I have with my 3090KP. And then the desire for that economical 4080/4090 kinda fades away lol.

Speaking of this, don’t you have a HOF 4090? Are you planning to put a waterblock on it? Were you ever able to get their overclocking app that the pro’s have access to?

I have always some spare K5 lying in the shelves. And I don't want spend much money on the older cards applying thermal pads 🙂 Its an fast do it and the fits with K5 over pads is perfect every time. I would only use the more expensive pads on newer card. Not woth it for the old one. And I don't always have the correct pad size lying in the shelves, so... Has to be K5 🙂

Yup I have the 4090 HOF. I have also the 970 and 980Ti HOF. It seems easier for me get thos cards than any Kingpin or Classified cards here home. I have the love for the Kingpin (have the 980),MSI Lightning and the Hof. All is good cards. And I like how they looks and the better build quality. I really like the boost button on the HOF card. One click and max power and max fans for some fun.

I have the XOC 1Kw vbios and the matching Galax XOC app. Tested it but in the summer I didn't gain much. Above 1.150v and the power reach well above 800w and you don't gain much due the air cooling. I will test more in the winter. I also look after a waterblock from bykski. They are cheaper than the one from Bitspower. But with all taxes I see +200$. Then it continue with an extra rad and connections. So I won't see a price tag below $350-400 for everything needed for the Gpu.

The Raptor refresh is soon here. Same with the refreshed Z790 (Apex) boards. Those two components will come first. My 13900K and my Apex board go for free to my oldest son because he took care of our dog while we was in Canary. And I haven't an unlimited budget. <Hence I also buy a lot older hw for my hobby.

Edit. I have to pay 215$ here home. And for most of the PCIE 4.0 2TB NVMe ssd's.

Yeah, the oils from that full cover pad are crazy. The last time I cleaned and repasted the 3090 KPE I was able to get it completely clean and then cleaned all of the excess oil from the pad using 91% iso. I think it took like 10 or 12 ounces and repeated applications and scrubbing with a toothbrush to get the card clean. It was a real pain in the butt. Much more difficult than K5 Pro removal, which is enough of a pain.

If you want a Galax HOF 4090 for about $800-$1000 more than a Suprim X you can grab one from Galax's web store. As idiotic as the price is, it is still much cheaper and WAY BETTER than a ASSUS Matrix joke GPU.

Or, you can waste a couple grand less on a Red Devil space heater. Mr. Potty mouth couldn't even fix his with liquid metal. Seem like it is defectively engineered. Totally unacceptable thermals. He claims he "fixed it" and did make it better, but 96°C hotspot in a Fire Strike stress test is still just garbage. The name is fitting, though... runs as hot as hell, LOL.

Yeah, K5 Pro is super messy, but works very well in place of pads. I put it inside of a big syringe and use that to apply it to keep the mess under control. It makes application very neat and easy. I still have quite a bit in a syringe that hasn't been used up. I will probably use that on the Precision turdbook the next time I have it apart. The CPU is running way too hot with KPX on it.
