ryan
my omen only has two slots so it maxes out at 16tb with the sabrents. Im likely to get it to 8tb with 2 4tb teamgroups. im thinking of upgrading all my laptops storage to 4tb and up if possible when i get the money, Im liking my fire hd 10 13th gen tablet, i bought the 32gb then got a 128gb micro sd card and suprisingly it acts as a main drive on the fire tablet so now i can load apps and games ect to it without moving anything. downloading 86 apps and games that i will likely never touch but its there and it only used like 55 gb. i dont see why people buy chromebooks and tablets with more than 256gb. on a cell phone where you will be taking alot of pictures 1tb is nice. on a tablet or chromebook its unnessessary. im super excited to get my money, the insurance company is paying me for a rental car usage for 2 months or more so 70-100 x 60 days = ryans new desktop lol. bro my old score in pc mark was 5200 .. I upgraded ram to 64gb and ssd to 3tb and bought a cooler now im scoring 7002. thats a 36 percent increase off the top of my head 3 ZEUS-COMING SOON Omen 16 2021 Zenbook 14 oled Vivobook 15x oled
Mr. Fox
Games have become ludicrous space pigs. A 2TB drive won't hold that many games. It used to be music and movie files that gobbled up drive space, but they use very little space compared to modern games. So, not only is 8GB of VRAM very swiftly becoming unacceptably small and 16GB the new "basic" configuration, but you need gobs of storage if gaming is your gig. That is, unless you are a weirdo that enjoys downloading, deleting, downloading, deleting, downloading, deleting, which is a waste of time and also has potential to degrade NAND storage if you do that excessively. 2 Wraith // Z790 Apex | 14900KS | 4090 Suprim X+Byksi Block | 48GB DDR5-8600 | Toughpower GF3 1650W | MO-RA3 360 | Hailea HC-500A || O11D XL EVO Banshee // X870E Carbon | 9950X | 4090 Gaming OC+Alphacool Block | 32GB DDR5-8200 | RM1200x SHIFT | XT45 1080 Nova || Antec C8 Spectre // Z790i Edge | 13900KS | 3090 Ti FTW3 | 32GB DDR5-8200 | RM1000e | EK Nucleus CR360 Direct Die || Prime A21 Half-Breed // Dell Precision 7720 | BGA CPU Filth+MXM Quadro P5000 | 4K Display | Sub-$500 Grade A Refurb | Nothing to Write Home About Mr. Fox YouTube Channel | Mr. Fox @ HWBOT The average response time for a 911 call is 10 minutes. Mr. Fox
1 hour ago, ryan said: Thanks bros @electrosoft @Mr. Fox. I have never benchmarked desktop hardware so it's exciting but at the same time I worry. I wouldn't like to wreck the new desktop with my lack of knowledge Even wrecking a laptop is difficult, but a desktop is harder to hurt. Heat is the biggest source of harm, and it is usually either caused by an inadequate cooling system or using more voltage than the part can handle. Even so, most CPUs and GPUs will throttle to protect themselves. It's memory that tends to misbehave the most because it crashes rather than throttling, or it won't boot with wrong settings and you have to clear the CMOS. It's doesn't harm anything, it is merely an inconvenience. AMD and NVIDIA (especially NVIDIA) have minimal voltage controls available, so that makes it harder to harm the parts, and an Arc GPU has LOTS of voltage control, but if you give it too much it just runs slower, which is also a safety mechanism. Take your time. Learn to use the right tools. Make one or two changes at a time (so you can easily identify what you changed that caused instability) and you'll figure things out pretty quickly. It is extremely unlikely you will break anything by overclocking. You're more likely to screw up Windows than you are the hardware. Watch this video @ryan (not suggesting you do this, merely showing that the hardware is not that fragile) 1 Wraith // Z790 Apex | 14900KS | 4090 Suprim X+Byksi Block | 48GB DDR5-8600 | Toughpower GF3 1650W | MO-RA3 360 | Hailea HC-500A || O11D XL EVO Banshee // X870E Carbon | 9950X | 4090 Gaming OC+Alphacool Block | 32GB DDR5-8200 | RM1200x SHIFT | XT45 1080 Nova || Antec C8 Spectre // Z790i Edge | 13900KS | 3090 Ti FTW3 | 32GB DDR5-8200 | RM1000e | EK Nucleus CR360 Direct Die || Prime A21 Half-Breed // Dell Precision 7720 | BGA CPU Filth+MXM Quadro P5000 | 4K Display | Sub-$500 Grade A Refurb | Nothing to Write Home About Mr. Fox YouTube Channel | Mr. Fox @ HWBOT The average response time for a 911 call is 10 minutes. ryan
yeah im sure ill be able to push the system to its limits. I usually get number one spot for laptop hardware but in the desktop space it's more competitive. more people benching and doing unknown tweaks with magic samples. I think I want a nvidia gpu for dlls and fg but the a770 in raw performance is such a bargain. Im thinking of just skipping this generation but when is it a good time, you can always wait. I enjoy using the systems for the odd game and like longevity but at 3000 the 4090 will last longer but by how much 2500 dollars longer? i doubt the 4090 will be competitive in 4 years. by the time the a770 is obsolete the 4090 will be on its knees. technology is advancing so fast and what I dont know but assume is technology has advanced tremendously over the last 10 years. I think about a great gaming laptop with a miniled display or something portable but like iv'e learned with my time with laptops is its super rare to use it away from a desk, I will buy an oled tv or monitor and hook up the desktop to it and call it a day. everything is a farce as far as my perception goes but I cant change my reality from simply observing the seen. its hard to believe they are selling games that look 20-30 years old graphically and gameplay mechanics wise, but yeah ignorance is bliss and at the end of the day all that matters is money. 2 ZEUS-COMING SOON Omen 16 2021 Zenbook 14 oled Vivobook 15x oled

The best is no more with EVGA out of the game and now there is less competition, with nothing to deter the new best and second-best from doing things more half-assed than ever before. And, they'll get away with that because of having no point of reckoning in the absence of competition. My expectation is that there will never be a company good enough to step up and fill their empty shoes and we will be left with what we are left with, which leaves a lot to be desired and doesn't fit my definition of being excellent or great... This suggests the use of the larger AD103 silicon, as opposed to the AD104 silicon currently used in the RTX 4070 Ti. The RTX 4080 SUPER is also expected to have 16 GB of memory with a 256-bit interface, similar to the standard RTX 4080. What makes them particularly compelling is value and the sense of actually getting what you pay for, (which is rare today,) or maybe even a little extra depending on the type of workload; versus paying a whole lot of money only to get so little in return. We would not expect a $200 or $300 GPU to perform like one that cost $1000+ but we shouldn't be happy about paying $1500 for a GPU that performs like a $750 GPU. And, why would anyone feel good about an expensive new GPU that has inadequate memory capacity and a crippled memory bus? But, it is very easy to be happy about paying $200-$300 for a GPU that performs on par with one that costs $100-$200 more. 1 1 Wraith // Z790 Apex | 14900KS | 4090 Suprim X+Byksi Block | 48GB DDR5-8600 | Toughpower GF3 1650W | MO-RA3 360 | Hailea HC-500A || O11D XL EVO Banshee // X870E Carbon | 9950X | 4090 Gaming OC+Alphacool Block | 32GB DDR5-8200 | RM1200x SHIFT | XT45 1080 Nova || Antec C8 Spectre // Z790i Edge | 13900KS | 3090 Ti FTW3 | 32GB DDR5-8200 | RM1000e | EK Nucleus CR360 Direct Die || Prime A21 Half-Breed // Dell Precision 7720 | BGA CPU Filth+MXM Quadro P5000 | 4K Display | Sub-$500 Grade A Refurb | Nothing to Write Home About Mr. Fox YouTube Channel | Mr. Fox @ HWBOT The average response time for a 911 call is 10 minutes. Papusan
Isn't it cute? Confirmed, Nvidia can sell GPUs with +12% less cores for the same prices. Hmmm.... Wonder how many top binned AD102 dies will go into the Defective version of 4090 for the Chineese market. The newborn 4090 Defective will most likely also go into the Chineese AI Servers. And where will an possible 4080 Ti for the Global market fits into this? @electrosoft😀 https://videocardz.com/newz/chinese-nvidia-rtx-4090d-to-launch-today-with-reduced-tensor-core-specs 1 1 1 "The Killer" ASUS ROG Z790 Apex Encore | 14900KS | 4090 HOF + 20 other graphics cards | 32GB DDR5 | Be Quiet! I also like to know, or at least have some inclination of what I am talking about. A lot of people come to me at work or people I mingle with online know that I am a system builder and tinker more than I should. As such, I generally get a lot of inquiries about building PC's so i'll recommend some things based on some criteria. Due to that, I like what I have been hearing about ARC, but have no experience with it. Would love to be able to recommend it for some people without the caveat of second hand knowledge. Might be a while though :( Too many projects and not enough human I/O lol 1 Telegram / TS3 / Twitter 2700X to 5800X3D upgrade! With a 10850K cameo! Clamibot
Hey guys, I recently got ahold of a 1.5 TB Optane 905P SSD for christmas and have been loving it so far, except for one really strange issue I've been having. The drive is very fast in of itself, but the dedicated Optane drivers significantly decrease performance over the default Windows storage device drivers (my game build times INCREASE by about 27.5%). According to individuals on the Level1Techs forums (which is where I got the driver from), the driver is supposed to significantly increase performance. For anyone on this forum that has experience with Optane, is there a specific driver verison I should be using with the 905P to maximize its performance? 2 1 AlienyHackbook: Alienware M17X R5 | i7-4930MX | GTX 1060 | 32GB DDR3L Kingston HyperX @ 2133 MHz CL 12 | MacOS Sierra 10.12.5 | Windows 10 LTSC | Hackintoshes Rule! I am not sure that I know of anyone that uses Optane. You might be the first. There may be some that never mentioned it. Though I haven't messed with it personally, isn't there a BIOS option that has to be enabled for it to function correctly? Are you using it for caching or for ordinary storage? As a side note, the only real difference between Z690 and Z790 is Intel eliminated Optane technology and used the PCIe lanes for other purposes. They stopped supporting it because Optane never got much traction/popularity. 1 Wraith // Z790 Apex | 14900KS | 4090 Suprim X+Byksi Block | 48GB DDR5-8600 | Toughpower GF3 1650W | MO-RA3 360 | Hailea HC-500A || O11D XL EVO Banshee // X870E Carbon | 9950X | 4090 Gaming OC+Alphacool Block | 32GB DDR5-8200 | RM1200x SHIFT | XT45 1080 Nova || Antec C8 Spectre // Z790i Edge | 13900KS | 3090 Ti FTW3 | 32GB DDR5-8200 | RM1000e | EK Nucleus CR360 Direct Die || Prime A21 Half-Breed // Dell Precision 7720 | BGA CPU Filth+MXM Quadro P5000 | 4K Display | Sub-$500 Grade A Refurb | Nothing to Write Home About Mr. Fox YouTube Channel | Mr. Fox @ HWBOT The average response time for a 911 call is 10 minutes.
