Yeah after my accident I picked up a fat tyre hiboy p6 750w electric bike. Really enjoying it. Zero to fourty in a second or two. Feels like your floating from the 4in thick tyre. Really fun and can be great exercise. Brakes were adjusted at a bike shop, then I started having issues so beware of bike shops fixing brands they don't carry. Speaking of which I'm going to try fixing them now..back done

Yeah I've been spending on too much stuff, bought a team group 1tb micro SD for my tablet, installed about 30 sbs 3d movies and some nature conversions. Bunch of downloaded movies and still have 40 percent left. I bought a sleeve for my tablet along with a super charger and 5 amp usb c cable. Security cameras 4 in total. And because GeForce now was half price I bought the 4080 tier for 70 cad and now I can game on my tablets and Ultrabooks if I choose. Bought a 70 dollar 1080p protector, it's not very bright or color accurate but at night it is pretty good looking image and loud enough speaker. It's beyond 100in I'd gather 140in display. It would be good if it was just a touch brighter.

:O) This. Well, bought it some time ago, but put to heavy use recently. My country cabin is close to a gentle, beautiful little river ...which a few times a year goes catastrofically over it's borders and leaves behind tons of big rocks along it's berges.

So, the joy of cleaning up and cutting things up into manageable sizes to transport stones away. Good for building muscles! The machine, china-ebay stuff, costing next to nothing (price\weight\useability ratio :O) does an absolutely miraculous job.

Bluetooth Sennheiser headset taking care of all noise, enjoying heavy hardrock while working.

Took a chance on an open-box non-Super RTX 4080 from Amazon. With gift cards and reward points, it was just over $700 out the door.

Picked up a bunch of stuff from Harbor Freight during this week's sale, but mainly the big items included a mechanic's cart (sadly not in purple), 10in miter saw, rolling stand for said saw, and a 6in grinding wheel.

Decided it would be time to switch my primary usb stick from USB-A to USB-C. While at it, im also downsizing from a 2242 to a 2230 M.2, so will be even more compact 🙂

Storage size will double from 1TB to 2TB. Havent gotten the M.2 just yet, but looking at the Corsair Mini MP600 R2 2TB with pcie 4.0 x4. ofc pcie 4.0 will not help with total throughput, since the case connector is limited to 10Gbps, but should help with IOPS and also power consumption @heat output.

I received word that the 4080 I ordered wouldn't be shipping until the end of September so that got cancelled. Instead I'm taking a chance on an ASRock 7900 XT. With said Amazon rewards and gift cards, this one will end up costing less than $550 all-in. I think I can live with the hit to RT performance, at least for the time being. I'm not expecting RTX 5000 to be a generational leap, at least for what NVIDIA is likely to charge, and with AMD likely bowing out of the high-end market for RDNA 4, the 7900 XT being regularly available for well under $700 might be the best overall price-to-performance GPU on the market at the moment, at least for one that has at least 16 GB of VRAM.

I checked out ratchet and clank and winded up liking it but it runs poorly at 4k on my laptop. a 7900 should be able to do 4k/120 in almost all games which is pretty fantastic. jealous.

jaybees thumb drive looks super versatile.  I bought a u green nvme enclosure but its rather big, I have a 4tb 1tb and 512gb usb harddrives. but yeah I think its time to down size or just keep what I got and when I want to upgrade maybe not buy 6 laptops. I really like all my tech but I dont use all of it often. I think a desktop tablet cell and xreal glasses is all a person would need

Ratchet and Clank is actually quite demanding! So doesnt surprise me that you cant properly run 4K. Maxxed out with raytracing at 4K i was barely breaking 100 FPS with my overclocked 4090.... 😄

lol yeah I know I tried haha..got a crash after seeing 2fps. pretty funny hearing you got 100fps wheras i was around 1fps im not even exagerating.

its a fun game to just touch for a few min and slowly progress dabble a bit works well that way.

I bought 2 4tb nvme drives for my omen and have a usb c 4tb external so now 12tb of storage its pretty nice having all games loaded, basically i have 200 games that run a 4k with my 3060 but alot need to be dialed down to medium. I still regret not getting a desktop as now i think its really my only option for upgrading unless laptops get a beast upgrade with the mobile 5080/5090 never know, but cost thats another story

as per topic, I just got internet 2gb im getting 1900 with ethernet dongle. pretty fast checked out geforce now and its 4080 and still has some blotchyness in the distance, only good for 1440p and 3rd person games. 70 bucks no biggie

1-2 fps, lulz. i think thats more of a VRAM issue rather than raw performance. the 4090 is definitely not 100x faster than a 3060, even the laptop version 😄

So upon a clean installation of the 7900 XT, my desktop hardlocked twice. After forced restarts, the GPU driver disappears from Windows, so back to Amazon it goes. Guess I'll be sticking with the RTX 3080 until Blackwell comes along. If it ends up like I expect and not a significant generational leap, I'll pick up a discounted RTX 4080 Super or something.

I'm also kind of miffed that Black Myth Wukong goes live tomorrow, and AMD has yet to release an optimized driver for it despite the benchmark being available for a week now. Speaking of the benchmark, that's a really nice thing I wish more developers would do, especially for a title that's going to be as demanding as this one.
