it should be plug and play regardless. The issues which require modding are Gsync and Dynamic Boost, apparently by modding the .inf driver

Failed to execute?

Doesn't the forummate answer anyway?

I would be interested in the final result... 🤔

Is there a picture of the correct water Heatsink Thermal Pad Thickness Application for RTX 3080 GPU Card?

I found one that is a bit incomplete, but the real size would be important. Previously linked (Ali image) contains inappropriate markings. The question is, in the now shared image, what is the real mm thick in the nominated places?

Ah, my own 3080 just arrived, looks good on visual inspection, signs of wear appear on the memory chips' writings, some of them are faded.

Pity I cannot test the gpu because the heatsink I received was bent and thus unusable.

They also send you gpu cable and the big pad that sits under it

Glad to see another 3080 mobile upgrade in the works! Mine has the same wear on the memory and its fine. I think its just an effect of the thermal pad grease at normal operating temperatures. Your current GPU should look the same way.

My intial heatsink I ordered from RJTech / Sager was also bent upon arrival. I had to take many photos of the box and heatsink and they sent another out which arrived a week later that was actually double boxed and not bent. It was still faster than other options due to chinese new year going on at the time.

indeed, i thought the same, my own 2080s also has similar wear on the memory chips.

i got it from amazon from a third party seller, and they said they won't have another heatsink ready for 40 days..if anyone has links for decent prices, I would appreciate the PMs. Mostly because I want to test the 3080 as I do not have a lot of time before I can send it back in case it does not work.

another weird thing is that the gpu is listed coming from the US, yet there's a label that says hong kong and an address there...k

I just ordered one.

I'll give it a try, I hope it works! 😄

If it's from the same source others have it should. Mine has had a hundred or so hours of load and no issues so far.

Apparently my pc decided it was time not to ever boot without it being plugged in to the wall. It flashes and then turns off, only with AC power it turns on and it says there's been an nvram reset, so bios reset and everything. Is it me or the CMOS battery is dying?

Alright guys the long awaited update.

watercooled heatsink is amazing if used as watercooler. With air its not better then stock/worst. But boy with watercooling connected the temps are truly amazing, never above 60 degrees celcius and the fans dont even spin!

im using cryosheet on gpu/cpu and arctic tp-3 thermal pads.

the 3080 is just plug n play, u only need to edit .INF for nvidia drivers.

Tdp 165w and gsync works.

fair point, however everything I saw thus far indicates that. The main battery is fine, 7% wear which isn't bad considering it also is 4 years old and works fine.

Also reflashed bios and EC(thus disabling Dsanke's bios unlocker) to make sure everything is fine software wise.

Thank you for the updates, looking forward for that .INF driver and what to do with it!

Congratulations and I wish you good use! He's on my way and arrives soon. I still have to wait for replacement.

They brought home from the hospital today and recovered after surgery. On Friday, they will take full rehabilitation after surgery. I spend 3 weeks there.😬

I knew how good the water cooling on the X170 machine, I wouldn't replace anything...right now!☝️👍☺️😄

The courier brought it today. I was very surprised that he arrived so quickly from thousands of kilometers away.

Unfortunately, I have no surprise to try. I'm over a serious surgery, now 3 weeks of rehabilitation / medical hospital awaits me and maybe then.

Until then, he rests in his box, Esd's foil. Excellent packaging! 😉😀👍😎

Someone could do a few tests between 2080s and 3080 what is the difference. Or just what the 3080 gpu knows. Little teaser for those who would switch to 3080! ☝💪😁
