1610ftw
@win32asmguy It might be worth a mention that it is possible he will have to rescue his Clevo with a programmer if the memory testing goes wrong - not everybody is as willing to take apart a laptop like you are 🙂 @NBTUser I just checked and my exact timings per CPU-Z are 22-22-22-52 G.Skill has an offering with the same timings; https://www.gskill.com/product/2/197/1540866339/F4-3200C22D-64GRS That may or may not be overclockable to be faster especially when you only use 2 of your 4 memory slots but you should be aware that there are certain risks involved in playing with the memory timings and going beyond the regular timings with all 4 slots occupied is probably pushing it.

For clarification, I am looking for 1x32GB module at 3200 MHz with a CL lower than CL22 (in order to have a 4x32GB configuration at max CL speed). Thank you for the G Skill SO-DIMM 3200 MHz 32GB at CL22 listing. I came across this one as well as others when searching for memory for my laptop. As an update, for SO-DIMM 3200 MHZ 32GB single module memory at less than CL22: I came across the following options, and thought I would post them here for others to see and ask if they're compatible with, in addition to my own, Sager NP9672M-G0 (Clevo X170KM-G) [Intel i9-10850K (10C/20T] laptop, their own X170KM-G variations. Specifically, I noticed several of these 'less than CL22' options specified a voltage of: 1.35 V; would that memory voltage be supported on this laptop? On a related note, I've read from Amazon reviews, that some of these 'less than CL22' memory modules will only hit their advertised speed: 3200 MHz; only if: XMP is supported and enabled; otherwise they will run slower than 3200 MHz. Is this actually the case? And is this XMP support/enabling related to which memory voltage is supported between: 1.20 V vs 1.35 V? Years ago Mushkin used to be associated with performance computing and offered many top of the line enthusiast products so I decided to give this memory a try. Pricing wise it is right in line with most 2x16GB kits available these days and is competitively priced. I tested this memory in 3 different Clevo laptops: X170SM-G (10th gen), X170KM-G (11th gen) and NH55 (12th gen). The memory is stylish enough and easy to install (as are most DDR4 SO-DIMMS) but the problem is three fold: #1. The memory is XMP only so you will need a BIOS that allows you to access XMP enabling function It will auto boot to its default spec which is 2667mhz CL19 which is a waste of money and performance at that spec. If your laptop does not have access to BIOS and lacks manual enabling of XMP profiles and timings/voltage look elsewhere. #2. The memory is only single rank (not dual rank) so performance is affected. As you can see in the CPU-Z screen shot this memory is single rank only. If you want or need higher performance memory in Dual Rank configuration, look elsewhere. #3. XMP as is will not boot and most likely requires a bit of manual adjustment. One of my laptops does happen to have XMP and timing access via BIOS so I enabled XMP and it wouldn't boot. It just hangs. This same laptop has no problems using several other brands of 3200 DDR4 memory both SPD auto 3200 (no XMP required) and XMP required but this Mushkin simply just hangs. If you happen to have a DDR4 SO-DIMM laptop AND it has XMP access functionality via BIOS you may encounter a boot issue and have to potentially manually adjust timings to get it to work. 1610ftw
I would expect but certainly not guarantee the following behavior: all these memory sticks will default to the timings I mentioned above if you do not mess with the bios you will be able to go back to your previous memory from those in case you have issues You MAY run into issues trying to chase tighter timings at 3200 where you will not be able to get everything back up and running. Certainly I would expect it to be extremely unlikely to get tighter timings at 128GB but you may find success at 64GB with only two memory sticks. So while I would not think it is worth a try to do any memory overclocking with all 4 sticks there might be some potential there with only two. Personally if I was after tighter timings I would at first check if they have been achieved by anybody else and also what skill level those people had and which kind of memory they tried. The next step would be to check how easy it is to use a programmer to bring your Clevo back to life in case something goes wrong and you brick it. Only then make your decision and keep in mind that faster memory will only get you so far - we are talking about relatively modest improvements in your situation even for a best case scenario. Personally I would go with memory that other have running at 3200 for 64 or 128GB and be done with it but in the end you have to decide if you want to try to go beyond that. Oh and last but not least I have used the latest XMG bios on mine and can only speak for that bios when it comes to supporting 128GB at 3200: https://download.schenker-tech.de/package/xmg-ultra-17-id-xul17e21/

I am asking because I want to see if this laptop allows XMP to be enabled for memory overclocking; specifically, with memory (SO-DIMM) at DDR4 3200 MHz 32GB? Thanks for the information. In looking over the offerings of laptop memory at: DDR4 3200 MHz 32GB; I have not seen any CAS Latency (CL) values lower than CL22. Are there any SO-DIMM memory modules at: DDR4 3200 MHz 32GB; that have CL values less than CL22? Thanks for the suggestion. I took a look at the links provided, and it seems from the first link that the CL value for that memory, Samsung DDR4 3200 MHz 32GB (M471A4G43AB1-CWE); is not specified. Would you happen to know what the CL value is for that memory? My kit is a Crucial Ballistix 3200 MHz CL16 kit with 2 16GB modules (so 32 GB total). The XMP profile works perfectly in my X170SM-G. I don't know if anyone still sells it but the part number is BL2K16G32C16S4B if you want to search around for it. The voltage is 1.35 volts like that Mushkin kit. Voltages up to 1.5 volts are safe long term for DDR4. 1 AlienyHackbook: Alienware M17X R5 | i7-4930MX | GTX 1060 | 32GB DDR3L Kingston HyperX @ 2133 MHz CL 12 | MacOS Sierra 10.12.5 | Windows 10 LTSC | Hackintoshes Rule! I am asking because my current Sager BIOS does not have a 'XMP enabled' option. For reference, I have listed below the information on my Sager BIOS for my: Sager NP9672M-G0 (Clevo X170KM-G) [Intel i9-10850K (10C/20T]; along with an image of it. (with i9-10900K processor!) That is great to hear that you're testing 4x32GB DDR4 32000MHz CL20 in your X170SM-G. It's also good to hear that 4x16GB (64 GB) DDR4 32000MHz CL20 runs without problems in your other X170SM-G; thanks for the info. For reference, I will also be testing: 32GB DDR4 3200 MHz CL20; in my Sager NP9672M-G0 (Clevo X170KM-G) [Intel i9-10850K (10C/20T] laptop using: Kingston Fury Impact (2x32GB variation 1) [KF432S20IBK2/64]; first at 2x32GB (64 GB) then at 4x32GB (128 GB). The first link and second link refer to the same SO-DIMM: Mushkin Enhanced Redline (2x32GB) [MRA4S320GJJM32GX2]. Note, the CAS Latency (CL) for this SO-DIMM is 16, but the individual timings are: 16-18-18-38; hence both the 16 and 18 figures referenced. For reference, the specifications for this SO-DIMM can be seen from the SO-DIMM link listed in my previous post by clicking on the 'Specs' tab in the middle of the page linked. I checked the BIOS and there is a good setting for this RAM module, 3200MHz CL17 (but I'd rather not check it)😄 That's great to hear that 4x32GB DDR4 3200MHz CL20 RAM (Kingston) works in your X170SM-G. In looking over your images, it appears to confirm that the: Kingston Fury Impact (2x32GB variation 1) [KF432S20IBK2/64]; is dual rank; as your part number (KF3200C20S4/32GX) matches my part number. Also in looking over the images, it looks like your laptop specifically is the zTecPC X170SM-G with PremaMod BIOS? I am asking because I had heard that the zTecPC X170KM-G was supposed to have the PremaMod BIOS; although, I don't know if that BIOS mod was ever released. Does anyone know if the zTecPC X170KM-G Prema BIOS mod was ever released? Values can also be entered manually, but I don't think there is a shortage (yet)😊 Thanks for the picture. I don't see that option in my Sager BIOS (InsydeH20 version 1.07.04LS1), so I don't think my BIOS supports/has 'XMP enabled' as an option. (it can be snapped out after removing the 2 screws) and you put the memory modules in place (unclip the two old ones first and take them out), then snap it off. If it doesn't work the first time (after switching on), then you swap the two in the socket! ☝️ The battery must be removed and the machine must not be connected to the mains before you start it and you must not be ESD charged either! IMPORTANT! ☝️ That's about it, good luck!🤗😉👌 Thanks for the guidance and luck; I followed the guidance and was able to complete the installation. 🙂 I'm happy to report that I successfully installed the: Kingston Fury Impact (2x32GB variation 1) [KF432S20IBK2/64]; in to my: Sager NP9672M-G0 (Clevo X170KM-G) [Intel i9-10850K (10C/20T]; laptop. For context, the BIOS in my laptop is the: Sager BIOS (InsydeH20 version 1.07.04LS1). For reference, I have listed below the CPU-Z images for this laptop memory. I also came across this helpful YouTube video showing how to change the two back SO-DIMM memory modules on a X170KM-G; I've linked this video below as a reference for others. Does Crucial have a SO-DIMM memory module at: 3200 MHz 32GB (1x32GB) with a CL less than 22? What laptop brand and what BIOS is your X170SM-G? For context, it is my understanding that both the: X170SM-G and X170KM-G; at stock BIOS (from Clevo) do not support XMP. If this is not the case; please let me know.
MaxxD
Yes, it works without any problems. The zTecpc machine has Prema BIOS, but the PCSpecialist machine has their own BIOS. There I noticed that XMP automatically detects and applies it! In the case of an i5-10400F CPU, the 3200MHz CL20 RAM runs at 2666MHz CL17. In the case of i9-10900K, the memory runs at 3200MHz (It automatically detects and sets it!) What is IMC? 🙂 "Integrated Memory Controller" (IMC) UI: As far as I know, the Prema BIOS was not completed for the X170KM-G machine and was only completed and tested for the X170SM-G machine, it works 100% perfectly. 1 ◄►Clevo® X170SM-G + AIO Water System►Win10 & 11 x64 Pro "Dual Boot" System►i9-10900KF,128GB DDR4 3200MHz RAM,RTX 3080 16GB◄►+ Pioneer®BDR-209EBK + RaidSonic®ICY BOX IB-550STU3S►LG®OLED55C9PLA "4K" 120Hz G-Sync 1MS◄►*.*
