What was the last movie you saw?

Been watching Audie Murphy westerns, they're pretty formulaic but feature some really nice settings, seems like all similar to Zion NP. His acting is pretty understated. Ride a Crooked Trail ironically doesn't feature too much stunning natural beauty but has a pretty interesting story. Murphy was the most decorated American soldier of WW2, he made a ton of westerns and other films including one that was about his war experiences. He sadly died in an airplane crash in his 40s.

I loved westerns as a kids. John Wayne, Clint Eastwood and They call me Trinity.

Saw Avatar 2 on Friday, what a spectacle! Cameron did it again, technically i mean, the CGI and the high frame 3D is beautiful! The 3D is so clean and bright and in your face! Liked it a lot, the movie as a whole is ok, story not that good and as others are saying is to long, the middle section is slow and is feeling like a National Geographic Documentary, only the voice of David Attenborough is missing 😁 I give it a 8 out of 10.

haha yep i also saw it right on the first weekend it was out with my lady, we were impressed! the 3D effects are not so much "in your face", its more subtle and limited to scenes that make actual sense to use it in. so not overblown or tiring. story is basically exactly the same as before, just with a slightly different setting / context. that sometimes feels a bit farfetched, i.e. the reason why theyre actually hunting those big whale-like creatures... so now all of a sudden that hugely expensive ore from the previous movie aint worth it anymore?

but in any case, good movie for sure!

I like old movies like pre 1960 so much more positive and simple overall, so TCM one of my favorite channels, no commercials too. A couple of good ones were "It Happened on 5th Avenue" a semi Christmas movie pretty funny similar to the trading places of the 80s but not exactly. Another was Lady on a Train from 1945, pretty funny but also a whodunnit.

I was watching the 1931 Frankenstein and the 1934 Bride of Frankenstein, the second is definitely the better of the two and has some relation to todays trans issue no doubt. I then read the book and it surprisingly isn't really much like the movies at all, there are no details as to how Frankenstein does his work at all, none of the mad scientist using electricity etc and the bride never gets made due to Fs having a change of heart. He is middle class not some aristocrat and travels around later on, the ending is not some action movie grand climax at all either. The book rambles on a bit, too much romantic revelry and such.

I'm now reading Dracula and it's pretty well presented so far in the Coppola Bram Stokers Dracula movie, he's still trapped in dracs castle where I am.

A nothing, was late and tired so i posted in the wrong thread😅

Also saw Glass Onion, oh man i liked the first movie Knives Out a lot, that was so really well made, the mystery was interesting and the characters very intriguing and well portreyed.

Sadly the second part didnt rise up to the expectations😌. Daniel Graig was again great as Detective Benoit, hes doing a good job like in the  first movie. The other actros are fine, doin an okeish job but the characters are not that good this time, the biggest letdown is the story sadly, its starting interesting but by the middle section is gettin weaker and the finale is a complete mess 🥲

To bad, hopefully Johnson can do a better story for the third movie.
