I voted for NoteBookTalk.com, although I would prefer it to be spelled NotebookTalk (same domain, of course).

ย

My logic is to have something that both rings a little of NBR while also being a completely logical name to someone who never knew about NBR.

...

ย

ย

I agree with these sentiments.; it seems like the most straightforward option.

Notebookrevival has kind of a sappy-sounding sense to it, as if to resuscitate an interest that had died or become dormant. And, notebooktalk sounds like the name of a talk radio program.

ย

At the end of the day it makes little difference to me what it is called. I would have doubts about a person that made any kind of decision about being a participant in the community on the basis of the URL or domain name. I would say that poor soul needs professional help unrelated to technology that none of us can provide.

I have to admit efgxt.net sounds a little like external graphics, I was having a hard time figuring out what it was supposed to mean until I saw the explanation in the thread. End of the day I don't really care about the domain, it's more about the content and organization of topics. notebooktalk.com/net sounds fine.

I tossed in a vote for NBCore.net, as I feel that holding on to the word "notebook" is clinging on to the past that was Notebook Review a bit too much. ย NB feels like a tasteful nod to the forum of the past. ย I will say that I think "Core" should be replaced with "Corps" though.

The change will occur at a future date as soon as we make sure the transfer will work out without any downtime. Once we have a target window for when this will occur but for now I dont want to paint @Hiewย into a corner.ย

I voted for Notebooktalk too. It just seemed to make the most sense and still kept focus on the core mission of NBR but now with a fresh perspective and unshackled.

I have changed the header on the top of the page to reflect the new name.ย

ย

Nothing else has changed at this time. Both Notebooktalk.net as well as EFGXT.net will continue to point here for quite some time and as mentioned by @jolukeย is already in service for when we make the change to the domain.ย

Why not change the domain to notebooktalk and let efgxt redirect to notebooktalk? No point in waiting and many non-regular people get confused with efgxt name.

A bit OT, but is there a threshold of posts to see this poll? It seems like I'm still limited, so I wonder what other stuff I do not have access at the moment.

There's no threshold.ย  The poll is closed and you can't see results unless you voted.ย  I posted the results a few posts up.
