Yes I talk about the fins, we're at the minimum of the minimum (M18X R2 heatsink)

Yes I talk about the fins, we're at the minimum of the minimum (M18X R2 heatsink) Is it really that offset? I mean it has 2 cm of fins. It should fit since it is an MXM format. SuperMG3
Sus (M18X R2) if it works on M18X R2, it should work on Alienware 18 R1, I'll try that later once I get the RTX 3080 16GB MXMX work on M18X R2 🙂 Edited December 12 by SuperMG3
SuperMG3
The GPU is a 60W variant. Might as well ask the seller for a 90W one lol. It passed passmark at 8900 points.
SuperMG3
Hey guys, is it normal my keyboard is working half? I cleaned the ribbon cable but still the same Like jklm doesn't register and some other keys (It's not the ribbon cable! SuperMG3
Hello. The seller doesn't help either. Doesn't provide me with a high TDP VBIOS. It literally says on the listing it can do 130W max but it's 60W max in reality. They get 7700 in 3dmark timespy with PCIE gen3 I get 4185... Even on the mail, the seller confirmed me it was the 130W VERSION!! X-VSION are scammers for the price I've paid. Even the RTX 3000 is better... sliderfra
495Mhz gpu base clock is criticaly low. It ain't normal as it should be at least 1200Mhz, even with a 80W TDP.
SuperMG3
Hello. Yes. 1080MHz to be exact for 130W* There's also a 90W version but mine is 60W while the seller told me it's indeed the 130W max TDP. Nvidia panel and GPU-Z are stating max 60W. Sadly there are no compatible VBIOS I can flash without bricking. I can't just use any vendors VBIOS since they probably have a different UEFI partition. sliderfra
did you pay with paypal? If you did so you can start a dispute to shake things up if the seller is not responding

SuperMG3
Hey people. I ordered the RTX 3080 "130W TDP" from X-VSION again. Is this cooler good for 130W? It's designed for GTX 1070 MXM I'll use it on the M18X R2 instead

You may also need to redo the mounts. In terms of pure heat output, it should be able to handle it
Maro97
I think… No it can’t support rtx 3080 as you can see the gpu photo you have 3 vram areas not two areas if you use rtx 3060 may be can use this heatsink
SuperMG3
Well it can cool 2/3 of the VRAM. I can just put some thermal pad on the 1/3 that aren't covered with a heatsink. I did make my RTX A3000 MXM fit for the 100W heatsink (left VRAM wasn't present on this 12GB model) Edited Sunday at 12:32 AM by SuperMG3

Also I just need to trim the heatsink fins to make it fit. No need to redo the mounts.

It worked for the original 100W for the RTX A3000 (same die and Vram placements), so why not on this custom heatsink that's made to support and cool well the GTX 1070 MXM (120W-125W)
SuperMG3
Hello. I'm gonna return the RTX A3000 12GB MXM 60W because the seller sent me a wrong one. Once the seller will receive he 60W one, the seller will send me the 130W variant.
