P775TM1 Fans 100% and turns off

I have a problem with my P775TM1. When I turn it on the display stays black and after a few seconds the both fans are working with 100%. The orange LED is blinking and after a while the notebook turns off. I remember that someone wrote in NBR that a sensor from the fan can cause this issue. Is that right or could it be another problem?

hmmm....could be several different things, actually. here is what u could test:

 

- reseat CPU, GPU and RAM. make sure heatsink makes proper contact and that all contact pins are clean / intact.

- test with only one stick of RAM. try it in different RAM slots.

- check that all fans are connected and functioning properly.

This have I all done. No changes

in that case its likely a defective component... based on probability of failure id wager either gpu or mobo. are u still in warranty?

 

can also try a cmos pull / bios reset, but i doubt thatll change anything...

Bios reset have I done yesterday. GPU is working fine in another Laptop. So it could be the fans? Or something that recognizes the GPU and now is not working?

thats good info @gpu is working. might be a dumb question, but: has this GPU worked before in this machine? or is this a new upgrade?

 

aside from that, can u also test all ram sticks and the cpu in another machine?

It could even EC Firmware being corrupt, although how one will go to flash that if its not even getting through post is another thing.

Else if GPU is working fine then it most likely mainboard for sure.

only option i could think of would be flashing directly to the chip...

Not even sure if there is a clip for that which means finding an adaptor and desoldering the chip. I take it CMOS reset on the clevo's does a EC reset too right ?

it should. but if there is something corrupted in there the reset wouldnt do much.

So CPU, RAM and gpu are working fine. And it was no upgrade or something else. It came from alone. 
next step is for me to try a Bios reflash.

sounds good. might be able to use the clevo Fn+B forced bios flash function before the system starts freaking out. otherwise, it might really be the mobo.

So after start holding FN+D and the Bios on a fat32 Stick?

if i remember correctly, FN+D resets the bios (equivalent to a cmos pull), whereas FN+B reads the bios file from the usb stick. however, im not sure if u need to rename the bios file to a certain format for it to be recognized properly or not....

Ok then it’s easier for me to flash via programmer

It might be safer to go the SPI Flashing route to see if that helps.

However before you do that, probe the Power circuitry just in case as there is no point flashing bios/ec if it turns out to be a power circuitry issue.

3 Dumps? There are only Bios and EC.

Latest XMG Ultra 17 Bios doesn‘t work. Nothing changed. Where is the EC Chip? Can’t find in the schematic.

For EC chip, your looking for either one marked iTE or ENE its normally near the CPU socket or the PCH and its a square chip with a lot of pins.

However an EC chip can fully brick a system if you mess up on the flashing.

Now I flashed also another EC Version. Now on battery it starts for 2-3 Seconds and turns off. On A/C Adapter it turns on without pushing the power button and the fans are spinning with 100%.
