Anyone started watching "The last of us"? I think the first episode was pretty OK and looking forward to what's coming next.

Right off the bat Ellie looks a little miscast. Probably more aimed at the people who haven't had a chance to play.

Heh, I haven't actually played the game, so nothing to compare to or complain about so far :D

Yeah 1 season was very good,  after it got worse and worse and after the 4 it got canceled.

Started Jack Ryan sez 3..oh shit.. Action is ok but the story is all over the place. Didnt the writers learn geography?  In their eyes chech republic ist not in Nato.. Greece is in the black sea.. Also the fsb/kgb  orders the Greek police like they own it.. So many wtf moments. As a European I feel insulted.

Also Jack ryan went from a CIA analyst to a full fledged delta tier operator.. Hes like 10x James bond now.

I liked Harrison Fords jack Ryan more.

Thank God it did, it got so bad by the end that I couldn't watch a single episode through and through... What an example of taking an interesting concept and starting strong, and then ending where no one cares anymore lol

So beginning was also good, but seems like it's getting worse as well? (have only watched 1st and 2nd seasons). Heh, thanks for the heads up, I guess I'll pass it, no need to ruin a previously formed good impression :D

Was a little annoyed at the edgerunners ending. Whole show was fairly psychotic not into the hyper violence and gore stuff but the ending fits in. I'm assuming there's some source material somewhere which explains "atom" smasher and his deal, just call him "nuke" for short lol The episodes were about 20mins of real story, lots of credits before and after. Eh can't see where they'd go from there since in CP77 the events were shortly before that from the small blurb "mission" in there, come on CPDR lazy much?

I'm also on the "watching The Last of Us, never played the game due to only owning PCs, no PlayStations" bandwagon.  Enjoying it.  Wish they always launched new episodes on Fridays night instead of Sunday night, can we have a Super Bowl every week?

Haha, I agree... my colleagues thought I was joking when I asked them, "So who won?" but I hadn't a clue.

On the plus side, it's a great night to go out to eat at a restaurant that doesn't have any TVs.  Very quiet and good service since there aren't many customers.

Oh...last time I liked Green it was "Green bay Packers"?....That was only because I drove from NYC to Florida and went to Disney World.....I remembered 'the packers' signs somewhere along the way.

...Anyone do Star Trek?  I didn't care much for Picard season 1 and 2, but the reunion in season 3 has me interested (I've enjoyed the first two eps).  The premiere is available to watch for free for a week, no subscription required (U.S. only).

So on the recommendation of a random internet stranger who said "If you like The Last of Us you will love Station Eleven!

So of course I totally believed the stranger and........

station-eleven-season-1.png.9f797cab7617557b8a6b5967f6b20d50.png

So far I'm only up to episode 7 (10 episodes in season 1).

I'm still just not sure if I like or hate it :classic_huh: There is a LOT of time shift and 1899 stuff happening.

The story line in this is a bit thin at the start, though the time shift tries to fill the gaps in later episodes. The characters are also a bit "who TF does that" their reactions to an end of the world event don't seem plausible (but then I've never experienced one myself so who am I to say).

I mean the reason I loved The Last of US is as Ed Wood was fond of quoting  "The suspension of disbelief" (I already knew of parasitic organisms that control their host). The characters are so "normal", so 'guy/girl next door" types.

Final opinion has yet to be determined for Station Eleven

Just watched Alone in the wilderness Story about Dick Proenneke who spent 30 years alone living in an Alaskan off grid cabin he built. Very appealing.

I was always attracted to this stuff. As a kid my favourite books were like Robinson Cursoe and Smith Family Robinson
