Hi,

why CPU pts are so low, 9900KS should average around 11K something in TimeSpy and ~24K in FireStrike.

I've been reading this thread and am very interested in the AUO 1080p 300hz display. I have a TM with the latest Prema BIOS. Does anyone here know if it would happen to support the B173HAN05.1 display?

Also, @runix18 What fan do you use for your TM CPU heatsink? I've been wanting to get a 4th fan for the CPU but don't know the model I would need.

For the B173HAN05.1 to work you will only need a P775 4k edp cable 0.5 pitch, 6-43-p7751-020-1L, because B173HAN05.1 has the EDP socket on the opposite side as the B173HAN03.1, so you will need a longer cable.

The 4th fan was taken from some spare parts, it had no label on it. I presume that anything at 5v that fits fits. For TM you will need a 12v one. (there was a tread somewhere on old NBR archive about those).

If I use B173HAN05.1 on my P775TM1-G, will I loose the G-Sync ability the way I would if I upgrade the GPU to RTX 3080?

You should ask someone the panels that came originally for the P775TM1-G.

If a newer panel is installed G-Sync will most likely not work anymore. There are per panel stuff in the BIOS for G-Sync to work.

It is not only that. Even if one edits the display bits to mach a B173HAN05.1 in bios, you will still have to edit the encrypted Gsync cookie (and so far nobody succeded/wanted to decrypt that). In conclusion you can only restore Gsync on a config that matches the cookie, otherwise no Gsync.

Take that chart on Eurocom with a grain of salt, meaning that the edp cables for B173HAN03.1 are wrong (you need the 4k edp cable for those). Also the P870/775 combo with B173HAN03.1 shows as no Gsync option but clearly Gsync works.

Better than going eurocom chart seek the parts in service manual.

Hmm, why not go for a desktop then?

I guess it could make sense as a portable machine for people who have two of the watercoolers in two different places and they can then carry that thing between these places but I would prefer a laptop that does not depend on a watercooler to achieve decent performance.

The X170 heatsink that is an improved conventional heatsink with added watercooling capabilitiy is a more universal design although it probably is just as heavy as this monster 🙂

I have been eyeballing an RTX 2080 Super MXM for my P870. I know these things shipped with 2080's, but I don't think they ever did with 2080 Supers. I just wanted to ask to see if it was compatible with my P870TM with a Prema BIOS.

If it's just an INF mod, I'd be fine with that. If there's anything else I'd need to do I'd still be interested in pursuing but would need some more information.

Yeah that's what I meant. No automatic updates, but INF mod will do. Also the stock heatsink most likely is not compatible with the 2080 Super/3080. And G-Sync most likely will not work. Everything else should be good to go. Even 200W should be available from the get go.

I don’t think you will see big difference between RTX 2080 and RTX 2080 Super. Both with 200W vBios give around 11,7K TimeSpy graphics…

Yeah, but the 2080 Super was a lot cheaper than the regular 2080 in my scenario.

Also, was there any 200w vBIOS found to work with the non-Super Clevo 2080? I remember reading on the old forums that some people used the AW 51m vBIOS, but I could have swore seeing a post or picture from Prema saying long term it can wreak havoc on the Clevo cards.

Just out of curiosity, what is the oldest generation of GPUs that can work in the TM? Can you use Maxwell cards or will the machine just not POST if the GPU isn't Pascal and up.
