This is a truly amazing work! It is a next level of modding..

If this development complete that make MXM cards for P870 series dispensable.

I have a few more questions if you willing to give away your development info.

What is the output wattage of your DC-DC?

Could you use 2 DC-DC powering one from the master and the second from the slave? So you can have two 8 pin 150W.

The vapour designed for two 1080 with almost 400W in theory could it work with desktop card?

What about the big ones(4080/4090 and 5080/5090) with the 12VHPWR?

Do you planning to make a PSU for them or these are using too much?

Do you planning to make your own DP to eDP converter to use the internal screen?

"If this development complete that make MXM cards for P870 series dispensable."

Yes, that was my plan for the future.

"What is the output wattage of your DC-DC?"

Approximately 450W! This is a maximum value, but should not be applied to the respective graphics card. It is better to use less power, also because of the heat generation!

"Could you use 2 DC-DC powering one from the master and the second from the slave? So you can have two 8 pin 150W."

I applied this and everything is set up! You can see from the maximum power that I am using this solution. My power supply unit takes the power from both the master and slave channels!

"The vapour designed for two 1080 with almost 400W in theory could it work with desktop card?"

Yes, theoretically, but unfortunately the geometric dimensions are somewhat unfavorable. That was also my goal, but unfortunately it is not feasible. A separate cooling solution is required. I have already developed one. Unfortunately, only water cooling is possible. Or a separate vapor chamber could be produced! That would also work!

"What about the big ones(4080/4090 and 5080/5090) with the 12VHPWR?

Do you planning to make a PSU for them or these are using too much?"

It also works for the models! Everything is customizable. The performance is okay, but not recommended because it generates too much heat. My current test with the RTX5070Ti has as much power as a desktop PC and is much faster than an RTX5090 laptop! Even the new CPUs don't play a huge role. In UHD gaming, my combination is almost as fast as a current desktop PC with the latest components. I think that's really enough for a laptop. I've set my target graphics card to RTX5070/Ti. The best gaming performance, less heat, and faster than any of the latest laptops!

"Do you planning to make your own DP to eDP converter to use the internal screen?"

I developed my solution so that the internal display and an external display can be operated. The laptop should remain in its original condition, so I had to think about how the internal display and an external display could be connected normally!
In short, everything works internally!

Thank you very much for the answers!

In the future if you willing to distribute these adapters I am definetly interested!

From the tests it is clearly enough to be the strongest laptop.

Yes, it would be an absolutely powerful gaming laptop!

I hope the cooling works well!

Special thanks to developer79 for his personal effort, relying solely on his own capabilities without any help or donations, in developing and producing the first MXM adapter for the P870. Once the development process is complete, it will represent a major breakthrough for the future of DTR MXM devices, and this laptop will be resold as a barebone at a higher price than it is now.

Here are tests with my P870TM with9900KF and RTx5070Ti

The Gaming performance is amazing...

That's so cool!

If you can make a x8 adapter it'll work on most MXM eDP laptops!

Also, we need to make the existing RTX Ada MXM GPUs to work with our eDP laptops! eDP pinouts are present but the MXM cards are missing the backlight pins/jumpers!

Developer79 is already working on my RTX 4070 MXM card and will let us know!

my rtx 3080 locked at 150w with new nvidia drivers ..... any idea to unlock gpu power limit with new nvidia drivers like the old driver ( 528.49 ) ?

You can't, really can't. I tried that already. You need to mod your MXM GPU and change the power resistors.

This is my first test with the P870TM and eDP and an MXM card other than Clevo's! The P870TM works without any problems with the MXM card from X-Vision! Here's the configuration again: P870TM / 9900KF / RTX 4070 MXM (X-Vision and BiosUpdate) and eDP display UHD 60Hz display.
All other data can be found in the image.

This could be actually so good!!

It means any RTX 4050, 4060, 4070 and even 4080/4090 can have full eDP support? You should make a contract with these companies!

They're not interested in that because they only want to sell the latest laptops! Such constraints arise regularly because of the monetary system. We can only help ourselves!!!

I think, they aren't interested in the laptop market! Beside EDP is only used for laptops...

Newer laptops don't even have mxm ports anymore. Like Dell, they use some proprietary formats like DGFF...

Hi,
Here's another test in Alan Wake 2 with the P870TM / 9900KF / RTX 5070Ti compared to the R7 9800X3D.
All settings are exactly the same between the systems!
I lowered the power consumption of the RTX5070Ti, but it still generates desktop PC performance even when compared to a current AMD processor!!!

Here is a test with Firestrike and the RTX4070MXM in the P870TM.
The test is complete and it is how the card works with an internal display:
